Terrific video Mike! You've done them in the past, so it's nice to see this style again. This is the kind of instruction that helps folks find pictures in their own area. People don't need to go to exotic areas to get great pictures.
Yes, it's true, a motorcycle and photography is "blend made in heaven" 🙂 Motorcycle and camera are my psychotherapy. Beautiful video Mike, thank you very much 👍
This is probably one of the best photogaphy vlog video I've watched here in youtube in a while. Because this is about getting out there and getting the right picture. Thanks Mike. I strongly suggest you do more of these because I thoroughly enjoyed the video. I dont think there has been a video done in this format. Its pretty cool! Also somewhere around 2011 i think i started following you and I have been here ever since just being your student all the way. I sincerly have to thank you for teaching me through youtube here. I always felt inspired and very cozy for some reason watching all your videos. Cheers!

So great to see you back with one of your old style videos, I think looking at the other comments we all feel the same, great stuff and great video. Thank you
Excellent vlog. Good to see you out and about enjoying yourself. I took up photography at age 70 and even after 18 months I am still having the time of my life. You are a splendid teacher. Your style is "I know what I know, but I don't take myself too seriously." Lol. Looking forward to your next blog. God bless.

I love this series your doing , I'm an amateur photographer and in the process of getting my bike license , (done my CBT and theroy mod 1&2 left) your right about what you said at the start, you see so much more on a bike then you do in a car. Keep it up !
What a fabulous video. Am a biker and your way of describing history, the ponies and everything else was so interesting. Get more biking done, Mike and bring us that footage and the lessons!
Good to see you back doing what you do exceptionally well mike. And loved the fact you were on the bike! Though after the coffee cup incident I actually thought you were going to leave your phone by the lake....more please.
That was brilliant Mike, a real trip down memory lane for me, as I grew up in the area and my first motorcycle rides were very similar, back in the late 1970s. I've been in the north of Lancashire for the last 36 years, but still head for Lymington often, to visit relatives on the Isle of Wight. I'm now off to watch episode 2!
Right - time to the get bike outa the shed and onto the roads (waiting for the last of the winter chill and rain to leave!). . . . . I really enjoyed that ride! As for that cuppa . . . . . Oops. Great to have a play with the possible images you shared too. Can always learn something.
Really enjoyed your video of one of my favourite places to visit. Your coffee making a bid for freedom did make me laugh out loud! I enjoyed watching and picking up your tips.
Thanks Ivan. I've done before most sucesfully, problem was the Gopro on the chin guard was blocking my view so couldn't see if it was properly tucked into the jacket... MIKE 🤣

These videos have now spontaneously revived my old enthusiasm for photography and I hope to be able to implement it in a similarly beautiful way as soon as possible, even if I lack a lot of practice now and feel unsure about the amount of equipment to take with me.
Thanks Max - that's brilliant. Delighted to have played a part re-igniting a couple of your passions. What to take? As little as possible. I use my 18-55 lens more than anything else but it's handy to have a longer one too. I like the mirrorless system because it's small... MIKE 🙂🙏

The little house at the start definitely has a nicer photographic path leading to it from the side of the 2nd photo and would also work with afternoon sun hitting it, and I'd say far better than the morning sun did in the first photo from the boring path side so it's a win win to be there to get an image like you did looking into it with sunburst or if like me prefer the late afternoon sun
Enjoying this series, nice combination of the motorcycle and photography and a relaxed easy and informative watch. Years since I have been on a bike, I never had a 'full frame' motorcycle as I did not take my test but enjoyed the MZ125 - although that big petrol tank could literally be a pain.
Thanks Alan. 🏍️ + 📷 Rocks!! Love the 'Full Frame Motorcycle'.. Those old MZs were seriouly great bikes. Simple and virtually indestructable. Friend of mine got some pain of the tank on his. Dent size of your fist. Surprised me managed to walk again 😵... MIKE 🙂🙏

A few weeks ago I also took some photos of the Watch House at Lepe. Like you, I started on the eastern side, then walked to the western side. I set up my tripod on the rocks to take a long exposure, a couple of young women arrived and sat themselves right in front of the building. One would have thought they might have waited for me to finish, but no they felt more important. I have yet to return and get that shot.

Very enjoyable 24 minutes and 15 seconds, Mike! And you showed the importance of wearing sturdy trousers. - Thank you for putting this together, and as you said: "Let's do this again, soon!" 🙃

Really like the format of this video Mike, good to see you back out there, I love that part of the world. Where was the place with house in the water, never seen that before?
This was most enjoyable to watch and has me wondering if I could get back on to 2 motorized wheels after a gap of 40+ yrs!!! The range would be most beneficial and the nimbleness, as you demonstrated when parking up.. Or, it will be an e-bike.. 🛵+📷=🙂
What an amazing video in so many ways. Thanks Mike for sharing that beautiful ride! Scenery was just gorgeous and again, learning lots. I wouldn't have minded to share the back seat though!😃All the best from Gem.
Thanks Laurence - glad you like it, there are more on the way. When I said there may be some screaming if I spill the coffe - I meant it. Seems North Face thermal waterproof trousers are a good investment... MIKE 😂🙏
Enjoyed watching this video. Dont know about the motorbike but mountain bike + camera now your talking. I'm currently looking to switch to a more compact mirror less camera, carrying a heavy DSLR when on a ride is a bit of a pain and i tend to leave the camera at home too often.
If only you got to that little house earlier, I think a lower sun with mist hovering over the water would had made it a fantastic shot. Thanks for this video, though I really enjoyed it. Sadly, I have not ridden for a long time and this makes me miss it...However...not sure about your coffee transportation system. Lol!
I did think of that, but couldn't have filmed the ride over as it'd have been dark. Going to try it with a sunset sometime soon. Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. The next in the series will be up end next week... MIKE 🙂🙏

Love the lesson, being from Canada though, it was hard to watch you ride on the left side of the road, I am so used to seeing cars go by me on my left as I ride on the right side of the road.
You do realize that to an American like myself, although these houses are very beautiful and idyllic, they also evoke another reaction. Pretty much every British horror film we've seen from the past 75 years has taken place either in a quaint rural home similar to these, or large manor. Owing to this, when we see these little villages, we're thinking "Ah, how beautiful - probably haunted, though... Those are the kind of windows faces look in at..."
When I did a 1-2-1 with you we took photos of the house across the water but the lighting was very poor, the house wasn't lit and no reflection in the water. I can now see better how to turn an okay shot into something much better.
Hey Paul. How's it going buddy? Yep - light is everything and unless we're in a studio we can't control it - only work with what we have. Hope your well and things are good for you... MIKE 🙏😊

I enjoyed the format of this video Mike and agree with most of what you have said, however, sorry to point out the Elephant in the room but that dust spot on the "good example" of the shot of the buildings across the lake is unforgivable. Given that you are using this video to prompte your "Masterclass" in Photography Course that glaring error to me says less than master. Seconds to clean up in post but shows a lack of attention to detail that I would expect from a Master. I have liked the video because overall I enjoyed it but can't unsee the dust spot, sorry.
Hi @Topsyrm. Glad you enjoyed the video overall. Sorry the dust spot became an Elephant for you. I rarely notice such things, on my own ot other peoples imapges to be honest. Note to self - must try harder... MIKE 🙂🙏

Thanks Paul. Glad you enjoyed it. Mel (and Emma) have become awesome photographers. I'll thank him next time i see him... MIKE 🙂🙏
Nice video Mike. I really enjoyed the motorcycle ride. Reminds me when I had my motorcycle. Too old now.
Glad you enjoyed it Jacques. I met a bunch of old guys like me out riding a few years back. One of them was 94!... MIKE 🙂🙏
@@MikeBrowne Wow, that is awesome. I am 70 and feel like I am 50. But I still don't want to take the risk.
@@599miata hope you dont mind me posting this but this is a video I did of my friends dad who is 90 and still riding

Thankyou for making such an informative video. Loved that you talked through your thought processes on composition, focus and exposure. So helpful and interesting. Excellent photo ride in a beautiful area. Spent many summers volunteering at the Ferny Crofts Scout Camp in the New Forest!!
Thanks Mary. Glad you like it. Funny - It it weren't for the road block and traffic diversion, I was going to get coffee in Hythe then ride out from Applemore right past Ferny Crofts Scout Camp. Maybe next time... MIKE 🙏🙂
Really like the format of this video Mike, good to see you back out there, I love that part of the world. Where was the place with house in the water, never seen that before?
Thanks Andy. It's at Lepe Beach between Exbury and calshot... MIKE :-)
Great video , as a bike rider I carry a sealable travel cup and have them make my coffee in it then a lot safer to move around with and stays hotter .
I kinda like the danger... 😆
@@MikeBrowne Be carefull of what you burn LOL .
Great style of video
Thanks Jez 🙂🙏 - More to come!... MIKE
This was most enjoyable to watch and has me wondering if I could get back on to 2 motorized wheels after a gap of 40+ yrs!!! The range would be most beneficial and the nimbleness, as you demonstrated when parking up.. Or, it will be an e-bike.. 🛵+📷=🙂
Thanks Nick 🙂🙏. I met a bunch of guys riding out near Stockbrdge a few years back. Their oldest rider was 94! ... MIKE
What an amazing video in so many ways. Thanks Mike for sharing that beautiful ride! Scenery was just gorgeous and again, learning lots. I wouldn't have minded to share the back seat though!😃All the best from Gem.
Thanks G. So happy you enjoyed it. I'm going to make more like it for sure. Maybe you can hop on the back one day if I'm in your area... MIKE 🙂🙏
Absolutely fantastic Mike and you should definitely make more…I’ve done a few of your courses and they really helped me grow as a photographer 😊😊👍
Thanks Danny, will do!... MIKE 🙂🙏
I ride a motorcycle, I do photography, but never thought of combining the two!
I really should try it some time.
Go for it @tHaH4x0r... MIKE 🏍️📷🙂
I do like this type of video. Makes you think
It's been a while but I'm back on it and plan to get these videos nice and regular again 😎⏰
Good Saturday evening to you sir from Wellington Somerset
Hello there David... MIKE :-)
Great idea Mike, something different from you and it works! Mind you ,I was a bit worried where that coffee was running to.....!!
Thanks Laurence - glad you like it, there are more on the way. When I said there may be some screaming if I spill the coffe - I meant it. Seems North Face thermal waterproof trousers are a good investment... MIKE 😂🙏
Good video Mike thanks
🙏🙂
Enjoyed watching this video. Dont know about the motorbike but mountain bike + camera now your talking. I'm currently looking to switch to a more compact mirror less camera, carrying a heavy DSLR when on a ride is a bit of a pain and i tend to leave the camera at home too often.
I have a Sony RX100 Mark VI that I like a lot. Full controls. Would be great on a mountain bike. Worth checking out.
Thanks Steve. Yep, whatever gets you out there is perfect... MIKE 🙂🙏
@@bikentrike nice camera but way over my budget I'm afraid. Be looking at around £250 max.
MIKE 🙂🙏
The first part of the video was my ride home from work back in the late 70's on my Ariel !!
Ha - that's really cool @South Molton Photos. Which Ariel was it?... MIKE 🙏🙂
@@MikeBrowne 1957 NH 350cc did my apprenticeship at Wellworthy Ltd.. If you walk to the far end of Lepe beach towards Calshot there is gun emplacement and the foundations of some huts also couple of structures in the sea all to do with the embarkation for D Day.
Awesome bike, Triumph Thunderbird? I had the Legend version. That triple engine is so charismatic!. Unfortunately, it was the only bike I ever wrote off.
I love these T3 engines @ChromagraphPhotoArt. I bought a Legend new in 1999 and it's still my daily go-to bike. 120,000+ miles on it now. It'll be making an appearence in one of these Photo-Biker vids soon... Sorry you wrote your's off. Hope you were OK... MIKE
@@MikeBrowne 3 broken ribs, broken leg and a fear of fairground rides. Still riding 17 years later and no more accidents.
This makes me want to get out and explore more.
Awesome Irish Tom. That's exactly what i hoped it'd do... MIKE 🙂🙏
Nice to see you getting out of the 'office' again. Is the bike/photo tour still going to happen or has interest fizzled out?
Thanks George - me too buddy. I was talking to my friend Neale about it only last week and depending on what happens over the coming months, we want to get it off the ground... MIKE 🙏🙂
Love the lesson, being from Canada though, it was hard to watch you ride on the left side of the road, I am so used to seeing cars go by me on my left as I ride on the right side of the road.
Sorry I gave you a fright Chris. Having Eurpoe on the doorstep I'm lucky because I can ride either easily... MIKE 🙏🙂
You would've been a great 007... coz you SHOOT great 👍👍👍...
Hey thanks... MIKE 🙂🙏
Great video Mike! Glad to see you out and about. What was the blend of coffee? Roasted nuts😂
Thanks Lee 🙏🙂 Luckily the trousers are insulated and waterproof or there would indeed have been some screaming and nut clutching... MIKE 🤣
😅😅😅... MIKE
Great videos keep them up Mike. think you need a cup holder for your bike
Ha ha ha! Maybe...
I do the same Mike ride around on my bike(Triumph tiger 800 2014) looking for photo shots riding bikes and photography, it don’t get better than that!
Hey Neil. Tiger 800's are a lovely ride. One of my buddies has one and I confess I was surprised how got it is... MIKE 🙏🙂
Such beautiful scenery and light but OMG - you're riding on the wrong side of the road and it's making me nervous! ;-) (Canada here)
It is rather lovely - but I'm sorry to say, it's not us on the wrong side of the road... MIKE 🤣🙏
@@MikeBrowne Hahaha - but from where I sit.....
MIKE 🙏😊
I hope you didn't scald any noble body parts with the coffee :-D. Although I am not a biker, I like this combination of riding and photographing very much. Thank you very much for this!
Thanks Roi. Luckily the double lined waterproof trousers saved me.. ...MIKE 🙏🙂😆
Being on continental Europe, the bike ride is terrifying! It is just so odd to see driving on the left side of the road - it is just not right... 😅
😆
As a biker of 44 years I found myself watching the road conditions more than the video 🤣
I know exactly what you mean Nigel... MIKE 😆
maybe 1 day the NHS will fix my leg on the 8th operation attempt to cure my slow blood flow on my main leg artery so i can get back on a motorbike.....so jealous off you Mike
Hope so Sean. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you buddy... MB
MIKE 🙂🙏
