Great to see another T4 on UA-cam, I’ve converted a few now and find the bed along the side works well if you’re thinking of changing the layout, gives 3-4 seat sofa for family trips and a comfy bed for 1 that can be extended to a small double plus room for a side unit for storage and a little stove to make a brew. Looking forward to seeing what you do
Just came across your channel. Pleased for you. Gives me encouragement that one day I’ll get my bigger van. Been 4 months full time in ford transit connect!! So I totally agree nothing wrong with a small van but for practical reasons a bigger van does help. Thank fully I’ve no kids in the break up equation which must be extra tough for you. But I’ve two doggies which I’d love to have stay over with me when I get a bigger van. You’re heading in the right direction one day at a time 😊
Hooks! Hooks everywhere, and baskets/storage ziptied to hooks. I have hooks strategically placed all over my home, for the most random things - they help so much to create a seamless living experience. Another recommendation is Ikea's 'Pepprig 3-piece bucket with lid' - a simple item that was a gamechanger for my own camping. Ikea has so many ingenius things that can be repurposed for camping/vanlife. In case this also might be relevant to you - some kind of indoor retractable washing line.
Your first change must be fitting wheel arches, as currently, it is illegal with the wheels sticking outside of the bodywork. If you wish to remain the grey man, unnoticed. Don't give the establishment a reason to stop you. Hope you get the diesel heater fixed soon as the winter is upon us. Looks nice, and you will appreciate the extra room. It does look more like a camper than the caddy. It will be I interesting to see how you get on. Good luck mate.
Love the wheels ! I've got a T4 I love her - I'm lucky enough to only be 5ft tall !! I do have a pop top - i had some good mechanical advice before buying a van especially as a lone female I need to be mechanically sound
Yay well done Rob, it's definitely you and the boys will be a lot more comfortable. You'll no doubt be able to fit it out more the longer you live in it 🎉
Hi Rob congratz on the new van m8. I am so happy for you and all the adventures to come in your new van. The inside looks awesome also, thanks for sharing. God Bless
Awesome. I am really happy for you. Making postive moves, while building a new life. Change is always scary, stick with it you're doing great. You are an inspiration
Hi Rob congratulations on the new van, looks great I think you have done the right thing as you said ,more room and a bigger van plus a bigger bed.you will be ok good on you.cheers mate David.
Congratulations, absolutely no stopping you now !! That's a nice looking T4, i have a 2002 red 2.5 TDI T4, had it a few years now and it's been great, i bought it on 138k miles and it's over 150k, they're really good in my humble opinion. Been watching your videos since your first one i think, i'm really chuffed for you :)
@@BikerVanLife cool, i've only done a couple of videos so far, and the outside only really appears in the thumbnails, i'll do a little looky around it in a video at some point, its no where near as nice inside as yours !
Ive just picked a 2000 plate T4 for a project camper, 6 months mot, 1350 quid, 2 very small bits to weld rest is solid, i was a bit concerned about age but even if the engine packs in its about 1.5k to replace so not to bad, blank canvas in the back so looking forward to getting it done, atb, Chris
Never saw that coming looks bloody amazing inside and out great purchase stay safe hope you get the heater sorted quickly its gunner get cold stay safe and warm pal
Oh this is exciting , I get you about the height I’m 6foot 3 in the Peugeot partner haha. Hoping to do what you are in another year or two. Bet it was a exciting but also sad to see the little van go moment. I do love the t4 vans, I bet the size change feels like going from a flat to a house haha. Happy for you. Look forward to this new chapter.
Have you given up your motorbike or is it/ they parked up? A good biker mate of mine is selling his BIG V.W Grafter. He's converted it into a "paddock van" a decent sized living pod at the front. The rear third holds 3 motorbikes and a small "workshop" area. It's a beauty. Quite high miles at 120k, but he has done all the work on it himself. He is an ace mechanic. Good luck in your new V.W.home mate.👌
That sounds awesome mate. No I still have the bike. I didn’t get much footage on it as I was finding my feet with the channel, but I plan on incorporating it more in the new year 💪
@@s73vey yeah somebody’s screwed into it pretty good but it’s a little bit different so I do kind of like it. But loads of bits I can play with overtime. 💪
I don’t understand the risk with buying a older van,it’s basic mechanical engineering being a vw there are hundreds of suppliers out they for parts new vans are nothing but trouble wether it’s electrical issues, dpf, engine and gearbox failures at low mileages your biggest issue will be rust but apart from that it’s all plain sailing with a older van 👍
@ when you have 5 mins go onto euro car parts type in your reg and randomly pick out items that you would expect to replace ie brake pads, starter motor, alternator and see the difference between your prices and new van prices new headlights for cars are now £1K plus, yours is probably less than £50
@ yeah there is a lot on there.. so its a stab in the dark, i left a message on one of your post on Instagram - i follow you but couldn’t message you there
