You may need to "burp" your clabbering milk once or twice a day as the fermentation matures! I like to put the cap on loosely so it burps all by itself. :)
Heather I absolutely love your video. I made cottage cheese in my HOME. ECONOMIC CLASS IN 1963. MY CURDS WERE LIKE RUBBER LOL 🐸 I loved it and ate it. Told my teacher mine would last all day with the chew factor. We always had fun in that class. They need this class back in school. Thank you DEAR😎😎💞💓💞
I watched a video yesterday about making cheese curds and some people like a rubbery texture it seems? Maybe IDK what "sqeaky" cheese curds are but it doesn't sound appealing to me lol! I agree home ec really needs to come back!!
Ooooo...Heather this looks amazing!! So simple after all the different ways I've stressed out trying to produce cottage cheese!! Thank you for this!!!! Eagerly waiting for my girls to freshen!! Actually have 1 yearling (who wasn't supposed to get bred....) who is very close!! I'm praying for a good & easy delivery for her!! God bless your family & your homestead!!
This looks delicious and fairly easy. It’s nice hear that “it’s not bad (spoiled)” you can do this with it. I think so many throw out so much because we have gotten away from real food and become artificial processed foodies. Loved the video can’t wait to check out more on your channel
Oh my gosh Heather! This video is so awesome! You were so informative and included so many great tidbits! I hope to get goats or a dairy cow when we move! Thank you for taking part in this collaboration! 😃
My husband eats so much Cottage Cheese, this was great! You made me hungry watching this, that I actually ate Cottage Cheese while you made it! Thank you for sharing
I never knew how easy it is to make cottage cheese! You explained I so well! You are encouraging me to try. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. God bless!
Thanks for this recipe and especially the mini tour of your homestead while doing your milking chores. I do not have access to raw milk but do make yogurt using store bought milk. I will definitely try this using your recipe.
I am so enjoying this collaboration! The amount of info is amazing. I haven’t ever done any fermenting but have wanted to give it a try. I’m learning so much! Thank you. By the way, your squirrel moment was indeed beautiful!
This video hit the trifecta for me! Culturing goat's milk, making cottage cheese form goat's milk, and I found your channel! I know I'm late to the party but I'm gonna catch up on the #fermentedfebruary playlist this weekend I've been subscribed to the Stivers Homestead for a long time, a few of the others more recently subscribed, and I'm thrilled at all the new channels I'm discovering from this fun collaboration instigated by Fermented Homestead. I subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward to watching your channel in the future.
My grandmother used to ferment milk and make cottage cheese. Thanks for sharing. It's amazing the knowledge that is being shared here, I am so glad to be a part of something so wonderful with all that is going on in this world I am happy I have somewhere to go and get grounded and learn new skills. Thank you again.👩🏽🌾🙏🏽🧡
Interesting! My mom tells me that my grandma use to make her own cottage cheese. Not sure if this was the process that she used but I think I might have to give this a try one day! Thanks for sharing!
I have seen so many interesting ferments and been introduced to a lot of new channels through this collaboration. Thank you Ladies keep up the good work
What an awesome video! You have a teaching gift! I love cottage cheese and have never before considered making my own. I can only imagine how delicious yours tastes using fresh goats milk. Thank you for sharing. :D
I enjoyed your collaboration on clabbered milk. I couldn’t help but think of all the things I could do with it. I intend to try it with milk from the grocery store since I’m still living in town. Thank you again
i use fermented rice water to make mine ... i absolutely love this cheese since i have found out how to make it .. i even use the whey in my garden, or i drink it mixed with water on ice .. it is soo soo good
Ohmyjeeze, how easy is this!!!!! Gotta try, I adore cottage cheese. Great video, thanks for all the explanations. I'm a newbie, so learning everything.
You have a wealth of information when it comes to diary. The only thing that I have fermented with diary is milk kefir and I love it. Thank you so much. Take care and God Bless.
I enjoyed watching the enthusiasm you have in teaching and sharing. You definitely made it look easy. If I get some proper milk I would love to try this. Thanks😁
I am so happy to have found this! I can't have bovine dairy and miss cottage cheese and yogurt. It's so hard to find goat or sheep dairy videos that do something other than soap.
This summer when those delicious tomatoes are in season, give cottage cheese and fresh tomatoes a try. It's my favorite way to eat cottage cheese!!! Delicious!!😋 Thanks for sharing this process. Stay safe!!
Thank you so much. I might have to buy some whole cow's milk from a neighbor or goat's milk from a friend or maybe both and see which I prefer. I'm loving the collaboration.
So loving this collaboration. I never thought about making cottage cheese, now I can’t wait. Pineapple and home made cottage cheese here I come 😊. Thank you
My mom used to make a bread with her old milk. She would let go bad in the fridge I mean and then we would make this bread that it was so good. She would call it crazy bread, but as soon as it came out of the oven, we would put butter on it and we would just eat it up. It was really good. I’m gonna probably have to make some for us. Soon

Yep, mine oozed onto the counter. Oops!
Happens to the best of us!
I do have the pickle pipes do you suggest I use that. Our climate here in Texas is so different from yours. If not I will try the loose lid
how do you know it needs to be burped
Nothing going to be wasted anymore at my house. I’m so glad I found y’all. THANKS!!
YAY I'm so glad this was helpful to you! I'm glad you found us too! ❤🐐

Can’t wait to try this. I make ricotta and freeze it. I got my weights yesterday for the other ferments.
Awesome!! We have some glass pucks for the ferments that need it. They are super handy.
Your positivity is a joy to watch, thank you!

I am learning so much from theses fermenting videos. I can't wait to get starting & try some of these. Thanks for sharing.

"Fermented milk" is my favorite Ferment so far I think. Clabber with honey is so good! Very good to know it can be made into cottage cheese as well.
I use clabber to put in place of sour cream in beef (venison) stroganoff!!
Nice!! I love fermenting foods!! Some great channels below to check out too!!!
❤❤❤
That was awesome. Learning so many new things. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your day.

I use raw cream that has gone a little sour in making chocolate ganache. The slight tartness adds a nice dimension to the ganache.
That sounds HEAVENLY! Thanks for sharing!! ♥

Another great video Heather, i just love your channel. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.

You can do it with rennet or vinegar, but with raw milk you only need the pre ingredient!
