Sliding roof system 1

The system includes three roofs: a gray fixed roof, beige and yellow mobile roofs.
The yellow roof slides on a blue fixed runway.
The beige roof slides on the blue fixed runway and on the runway made on the yellow roof.
The yellow roof is driven by the brown motor via red chain drives. The yellow roof is attached to the upper branch of the chains.
The beige roof is driven by the pink part fixed to the yellow roof.
The pink part fixed to the beige roof restricts the movement of the beige roof.

Thang,
I want to drive a rack up and down but have a unidirectional output after the pinion .
Any idea how thos can be done?
I was thinking to use a scotch yoke or maybe a reciprocating slider

Replace the motor with a crank.
Chain or toothed belt should be used.
In the case of a cable, prevent its slipping on the pulley by making multiple turns on the pulley and using a cable tensioning device.
