I love all of the stuff that Brent wrote or had a hand in writing. His musical intelligence and integrity cannot be overstated! His contributions to the band were amazing really made a lot of the songs pop with the adding of his voice into the melody of Jerry and Bobby.
The thing I always loved about Brent was seeing how much he loved it. Understood the Magic of Music. Gone Way too soon RIP You were badass ☠️❤️☠️ 68 year old Deadhead here
Jerry was entirely focused on producing music, and nothing else. I suggest you look for an interview with Branford Marsalis about his collaboration with the Dead in 1990. Marsalis states that Jerry, when on stage, was entirely focused on producing sounds for their audience, and nothing else.
Jerry's solo beginning at about 4:00 is off the chain...look at his body language and facial expression--he is giving it his all! When Jerry had a good time, everyone did!
I was at this show in the middle of the pit. Great opening song that set the mood for the rest of the show. Was hotter than hell that day and they sprayed firehoses into the crowd to help cool us off. God Bless the Grateful Dead.
Bobby nailing this one like the usual. id say the dead's heaviest tune, especially the Knickerbocker show and the studio version. heavy tune that any hard rock fan would love especially. awesome guitar and sound and awesome well written tune
