Viper R's use to be my go-to bag. I loved the 2023 version, but for some reason the 2024 version got super floppy really fast, to the point where I won't throw it anymore. There are so many alternative choices these days with the same materials, but without the floppiness, that I probably won't go back to the R's at their premium price. Swag Bag Chao's are my favorite Viper R alternative at a much lower price point.
I haven't had a viper-R open up on me but I haven't been throwing for two years yet. Plus I've only thrown my viper-Rs indoors. It's good to know that they will possibly open up after a year or so if they get beaten up. I also wonder if ultra fans booted me because i don't recall seeing a release of those bags there lol.
I bought the 2nd release when they came out and I've abused them indoors and outdoors and have no damage, not even a pull in the fabric. Just switched to the RS and they are more fun and more hole friendly.
100% spot on. The Viper R is definitely one of the better bags that I am able to play better with. The only problem I have with them is I can't really cut these bags the way I would like to. They slide true and are definitely hole friendly. But I struggle when people put about level 2 blockers. I can't really get around it and i get stuck. Also my 2023 bags are extremely floppy and sloppy now. Most people i play with dont like how BIG they are now. I just got a set of the Mocassin bags, so hopefully these will give me what I want. Keep up the great work Mike.
@EviLNox8 i dont have too much experience with it. Only threw them for one game, but they were no where near broken in. They were still very stiff. As far as the template I definitely could tell it was a lot smaller. So not sure if that would work out for me. The Mocassin I just got are just slightly smaller than the Viper R and they do feel really good in my hand. Just got to wait and see once they break in to find out if this is what I was looking for.
I don't have a set yet so it won't be soon. I have quite a few bags on hand to review so it'll probably be after the first of the year. If someone in my league gets a set and lets me borrow them then I may get one out sooner.
If they make it a medium template it'll be almost perfect. It's a big bag so they clog the hole like crazy and hang by the hole so i find myself having to airmail drag more often than any other bags. That's why the UW Clones and Swag Bag Chaos are slightly better.
Ya know what's weird though is that I don't see a lot of viper-Rs being thrown over here anymore. It seems like a lot of people moved to the wizard L but even those aren't seen constantly. There's a pretty good mix of different bags being used around here. Me and my league partner threw killshot 357s today and I've not seen anyone use those in about a year.
I don't have a set of Gamers but I'll add them to my list of bags to review. As for the speeds, there are several materials that most, if not all, people agree on the speeds (for example, Viper fast side is a 9, Pro Advantage slow side is a 4), I use those to rate other materials. Template size is simple - 5.75" and under is small, 6" and over is large and everything in between is medium.
@MikesBags Don't get me wrong, I have a pretty good understanding of bags now because of you! I just find interesting how for the gamer, you can choose between 5-6 for slow side, and small- large template. I like how they make it very versatile from person to person. I wonder what mixup would fit you best!
Have you had a chance to check out the Buffalo Boards InspireX? Id like to know what you think. I religiously check to see if you've reviewed a bag before purchase!

These were the first Viper-R release with the 2025 stamp. They were not an Ultra Fans exclusive. They were released on the website for everyone.
I love my Viper R. My go to bag.
Thanks for the review Mike
Love it or hate it ,its taken the bags to a new level

Have you tried the RS? Definitely a smaller template and won't get so floppy.

Awesome re-review, Mike! Was wondering if we'd get a BG Kingslayer review soon?

@MikesBags it's all good. I wasn't trying to rush you or anything, I usually like to watch your reviews before I buy a set of bags 😂

They tried that with the Viper-RS. It's a medium template but they made them too light. I love the Chaos. They are one of my favorite bags.

Hey Mike, by chance, could you review the gamer by blueprint cornhole? I find it very interesting how you can choose your speed and template size

Mike, I noticed you don't have a lot of Goated Bags in your line up. Planning on reviewing the Bambinos?
Viper R uses the Viper R slow side😜
😂 I always refer to that material as the Viper-R slow side. As I was saying it, I realized the problem.
Viper RS is better.
