If you're taking about "reliability" then ask any long term Vespa owner and you'll know that Vespa's are built like little tanks, they are generally bomb proof, many running well over 100,000km with nothing more than general maintenance. I've had 5 in total from PX, LX and GTS and all have been stellar in reliability. Yes, Japanese scooters are reliable too but Vespa's monocoque steal body is built to outlast your riding days, thats why we still see plenty of vintage models all around the world that are still humming along. Yes you pay a little more but its well justified for build quality, longevity, ride and design. Timeless no matter which model you choose.
vespas hold their value because they are a quality product i have an 04 et4 mint green only problem was a drive belt that i neglected to replace in time. still look fabulous with many compliments. i want a new sprint.........hopefully some pastel colors in the future.
@@wewouldneversellourclubfor3166 you fall over twice and theres nothing left. vespas are made for responsive acceleration and quality bodies. all vehicles require care and they all have their own beauties. the only scooter id pick beside vespas would be honda SH :))))
@@jans.6537 That is not true. That front panel along with the rest of the body is stamped metal. There’s a few videos on here about how it is made. It is definitely interesting.
lol, this is the only review video I've seen about Vespas that called something "plastic" (this is false, Vespa uses metal), mentioned it depreciating in value (where is he? used Vespa's cost the same as new ones depending on the model - there are hardcore collectors of this scooter brand), and Japanese scooters are better (this is a preference - also, many J-scooters look like mini motorcycles, not scooters). I have to give it to the creator, their bias was showing very heavily in this review 😂
I've had 6 Vespas in my life. Still have 4 of them. They are bullet proof. Never done anything to them but routine maintenance. And they look like a scooter should! Who cares about the money!
I just don`t understand people who compare Vespa and japanese scooters. Why compare a Ferrari to a Toyota Camry Taxi? Vespa is passion. Japan scooters is boredom.
I've had the Primavera since 2016 and had no problems with it. cheap to insure, it's a 125, I am getting around 110 mpg, it's top speed is 67 mph. I watched videos on scooter west in the u.s, their used Vespa's are not cheap. I still own a Honda Scooter, it nice, but feels cheap compared to the Vespa and of course it was cheaper than the Vespa. Many people comment on how nice the Vespa is, I never had anyone say anything about my Honda, the Honda is just another Scooter. The Vespa is a work of art.
Thought I would add, my scooter has just passed 38,000 miles and still going strong! I used my Honda for work for a period just over 8 years and it's got less than 4,000 miles on it.
Vespas hold value very well. Especially older ones. New model vespas tend to keep value at the same rate nicer cars do. After 10 years and alot of use? yeah you lose cost. I know the Ruckus tends to start cheap and stay pretty cheap. its value is pretty locked until you mess them up. Though Ruckus' are also kinda crappy shaky little things while a vespa can and frequently are used for touring. So they are sorta a different market.
They don’t hold their value. I routinely see the 150s for about $2500 with almost no miles on them. Once you buy it for $2500 used, yeah, it’s definitely going to hold its value at that point.
Sorry, I have to disagree with the comments on this video in regards to the resale value of the Vespa. When I was shopping around for a used Vespa, I was shocked to see 14 and 16 year old Vespa's selling between $3,500 and $4,000. That is why, I bought a brand new 2022 model for only $6,500, and very happy with it.
I agree. He doesn't think a Vespa holds its value. He thinks that tool kit is a raincoat. WTF? And dude, you can buy an option side stand if you want. And it's a fuel ejected scooter so who the heck wants a kick starter?
one of the reasons why vespas are so expencive as new is cause u pretty much pay for the brand.. same as if u would buy like gucci clothes u mostly pay for the brand! i have a vespa primavera 50cc and im suuper happy with it!!
The maintenance on the Vespa is the same as any other scooter, what would make it any different? I bought an ET4 in 2001 and it was very easy to care for and was 100% reliable. I had zero issues with it.
Vespa parts can be slightly more expensive but not by much. But they are also generally of better quality unless you shift to performance parts like shocks. I find Hondas generally use cheaper lighter parts while vespas never feel like they skimped on stuff.
@@wewouldneversellourclubfor3166 I kinda have to disagree. In general you are right. Especially with motorcycles. Vespas are generally made to the same quality as modern Suzuki motorycles and are very reliable. Now if we were talking about Fiats or Guzzi I would totally agree with you.

Almost any vehicle; motorcycle, scooter or car will lose a lot of money as soon as you drive it out of the showroom. If you buy a used Vespa (or any other vehicle) then you will let another idiot lose all the money and the cost of ownership will be low.
I usually buy used bikes and cars but understand people wanting a new scooter with a warranty and not a used bike with a questionable history.
