    Too bad that so many diggers were lost at Gallipoli. Thanks to all Commonwealth soldiers who served in both world wars, and Korea. And Viet Nam.

    David Pisko, I am disappointed in this video because in almost every case you are so focussed on the bands that thcamera turns to track the band, instead of showing the veterans.
    If you want to cover the march well, then show the banners that they are carrying, in each case, the battle honours are written on the banner, along with the name of the unit.
    While the bands are good, it's the Veterans march, not the bands. Show us the people.

      @@hannahzhu6311 It's about the veterans, current serving and future. from ww1-now

    • @MandyJMaddison
      @MandyJMaddison 4 роки тому +1

      Hannah
      It is about the men that fought in every conflict.
      When I was a child, there were men who had fought in the Boer War, many who had fought in he Great War (WWI) and men of my father's generation who fought in World War II.
      The last man to have been to the Great War died early this century.
      In 2019, there were still 1300 WWII Veterans in Australia. This year there may be only half that number.
      Also marching are Veterans of the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, and from various Peace Keeping operations such as East Timor.

    do you call that a parade? hahaha

    • @z_scotty8964
      @z_scotty8964 4 роки тому +6

      it's not a parade really. it's a commemorative march done in 1 of Australia's 7 states and territories. It stems from the commemoration of the Gallipoli landing (Dawn service) then progresses to ww2-now. It's pretty disrespectful laughing at it since it's a big day for us Australians. Australia is also a small nation. Across all 3 services we only have ~75,000 and we also spend less than 2% of our GDP on the military.

    • @pilot1721
      @pilot1721 4 роки тому +3

      It's a veteran and current serving parade, do you expect the 90 year old ww2 veteran to march at perfect step like he's a grenadier guard or something
