this is still one of the coolest things that ever fell into my lap, i have no idea how this thing lived as long as it did never mind the fact that it actually ended up being JAB. spicyjpeg didn't make it into the mame credits but they honestly deserve a gigantic shoutout for making 573 dumping possible in the first place with all of the arcane bullshit they've been figuring out about the board in very real time. stay cool!
@@PiroKUSS the circumstances that led to this board being found are so astronomically out of this universe that we are genuinely lucky this 573 even survived the trip to the current day. it booted to an RTC error on the actual hardware it was sourced from and was only made playable after the dump process in MAME. i cannot imagine JAA will ever end up surfacing without an equally absurd sequence of events taking place.
This is the only DDR game where choosing different dancers changes up the BG effects to better suit them. In 2ndMIX onwards, all the BG effects are the same regardless of dancer selection. I watched the video again, and I noticed what you commented. Internet Ranking Version onwards has more unique song backgrounds, by the way.
I like how all the songs are apparently HIP HOP. Seems legit, Konmai. Also, it's kinda cool how some of these backgrounds are different than in the internet ranking ver. Do we think they may have swapped the backgrounds for BUTTERFLY and HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW?

Any chance of getting a JAA board one day?

@@caldenzaHow did you get this board? I'm curious.
Song Title: Butterfly
Background: random green scribbles.
Song Title: have You Ever Been Mellow
Background: Butterflies!

14:33 So that's where they got the background for PARANOiA for the DDR SELECTION feature.
It's also in the DDR 5thMix CS-Ver Gallery
Happy Belated 25th Anniversary, DDR!
It's so weird to see the notes not disappearing after you hit them
Ay! Official clear footage of DDR 1.0! Awesome finding of the rom & demonstration on MAME!
The PS1 version is based off "DDR 1.5" (Internet Ranking version) but yeah it's crazy how much changed between the two versions
This game was more like a jukebox to dance to than later DDR games.
So many differences with the vanilla version you'd mistake it for a prototype!
The How To Play music is also DDR 1stMIX PS EDIT DATA music.
Thanks for posting this. I can never get this working in Mame.

No. The dance choreography the characters are dancing is HIP HOP, but yeah the backgrounds for the two songs are swapped.
This is a great song! Stay Cool!😊
11:00 I still can't believe that in DDR 1st the LITTLE B#### song made the cut 💀
Wait a minute...no TRIP MACHINE or Make it Great?
(Respect for all BEMANI Players/fans Worldwide)
Nope. PARANOiA is the very first KONAMI original song and is the only one in this game.
Make it better*
Trip machine and make it better would be added in an updated version, internet ranking version.
@@elecks96 that makes this verson RARE
Where did you get this rom of DDR 1st? And how did you configure it to make it high quality?
AC版 初代DDRのロケテストだけで姿を消した『 MONEY 』の楽曲はないのはちょっとショックです。
