They must improve the Lead Guitar sound. A superb and excelent band sounds just "normal" here. They are the Best in Europe now but They need better sound.
I love this band, but since years now I am wondering what's wrong with the sound in their live performances, especially guitar solos. Other bands sound closer to studio versions
Frequently, it's a combination of a couple of things, from what I can tell: a not-so-good wet-to-dry mix with the effects (a little more delay and reverb would go a long way, but who knows how things are being captured with the mics and the mixer), and guitars frequently being out of tune. Markus, in particular, seems to have this issue (check pretty much any live video of Insomnium or Omnium Gatherum that he's in, and it's usually pretty apparent), and I would not at all be surprised if it's a direct result of his unnecessary over-use of his whammy bar, in addition to the heat and sweating from being under stage lighting (that shit is no joke, it gets HOT). The double-locking floyd rose bridge system is not perfect, and has its limits. I also have no clue how much drinking these guys engage in prior to performing, or how often they rehearse, but in a lot of the live performances, I notice a fair amount of sloppy guitar playing. Nobody is going to be perfect on stage 100% of the time. We're all only human. But that is a factor in what you're hearing. I love Insomnium. They've rapidly become one of my favorite bands over the past 4 years or so. It pains me to say these kinds of things, as I have so much respect for the musicians in that band, and the music has a lot of meaning to me on a personal level...but the quality of their live performances does not go unnoticed. When they're on point, they are a truly amazing concert experience to behold. If it's not such a good night for them, it's really noticeable, and is rather disappointing. Despite all that, as soon as the opportunity presents itself, I will absolutely be going to see them in concert.
I’m SOOOOO EXCITED TO SEE THIS BAND IN NY THIS YEAR!!!

@@jbaker134 well that's a nice detailed comment / answer 😀 thanks for sharing 😉
Have you ever been to their gigs? I’ve see them many times for these 3 years and all of them sounded super nice.
@@aarina6507 no, but I would love to!
It's drinking and lack of practice. Whammy bar is not a problem. He is just bad guitar player and he is drunk thats all :D
