Many thanks Vakasa for reacting to my song request. While there are some popular songs of John's yet to be heard, I chose this song as it is a lesser known one that is rarely played. It is an uplifting and inspiring song that was recorded live (with audience participation) in 1994, on the actual night of the telethon/concert. The song was then included as part of a 5 song CD and the funds raised from its sale and the concert went to the people of Rwanda. Whenever there is a good cause, John is always first to put up his hand and donate his time. Once again he shows what a generous and kind hearted soul he truly is, just beautiful. Your interpretation of the lyrics was spot on, highlighting for us the important messages to think about. The lyrics were so meaningful and poignant, enhanced by John's storytelling. We have come to know that John doesn't do a bad song, whether it's his own or a cover. Definitely there are still some little beauties down that never ending 'rabbit hole'. Appreciated all the reactions you did for me and hope everyone enjoyed them. Cheers Vakasa. 🌝💕🎵
You should check out John doing “you’ll never walk alone”. There are a few versions but I think the best one was when he did it at the carols by candlelight in the mid 90’s I think. He performed with his 3 regular backup singers and did “Mary boy child and you’ll never walk alone” it was epic and my favorite version of a great song. This was another great reaction to a great artist and wonderful human being. Thank you for all the love you’ve given to our John and bring his epic voice and music to the people that haven’t had the pleasure yet, or to us how have had the pleasure for 50 years and just appreciate the memory of this wonderful man. John also did a couple of American movie soundtracks back in the 80’s ( savage streets and Rad) some really good songs in there.
Spot on! That is by far my favourite version as well. Hopefully VK can tuck this one away for Christmas 🤞. Yes with RAD, the songs Thunder In Your Heart and Break The Ice are cool (parden the pun) 🌝💜
Thanks VK can't remember this loved it. John and his family of musicians so tight can bounce off each other. Hope you're doing o.k. and feeling strong ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
That lighting looked just like a massive bush fire. In one of them the "snow" that falls is larger pieces of ash. It's all grey. We all have to learn fire safety, it happens. As a kid i was told about burdekin snow. The Burdekin river is a massive river in Queensland, it is sugar cane country, and the water comes from the river. Then at harvest, the cane is fired, to get rid of snakes, mice, insects, etc and the extra thick leaves on top of the stalks. The air can hold black trash for a while, but it all comes down somewhere, even miles away. This was done at night to cool down, particularly where men were cutting cane by hand, the men don't get bit so much, queensland has the fiesty, deadly, eastern brown in cane fields, they eat mice, the men would come home pretty much black with the ash. In places where there is a blow down of the 6 feet long canes, it looks like spaghetti, and still needs hand cutting, but now most farms use harvesters, which throw the trash back into the paddock, and it is harvested green, the trash is either plowed in or burned later. The cane harvester is an aussie invention. The devices needed by the blind, just to function daily, are very expensive.
There are couple of 80’s American movie soundtracks that John did, (rad and savage streets), “rad” in particular was awesome, like “thunder in your heart” probably only audio versions out there but still amazing, and one of those positive energy songs.
The whole audience is singing, “ Fight for survival” Watch - John Farnham - (The Making of) Always The Same. It’s on UA-cam. It’s only 7 minutes long and John is so funny and laughing and talking to the whole audience, telling thousands of them to sing 😂
@@vkmusic2727 your welcome. I enjoy your vids and reviews. When I watched this one I remembered the shorter funny version of the making of it. John talking yo audience as if they were his friends 😊
