First, your time mark must be wrong cause there's no red knocked. If a red is potted or knocked off, it doesn't come back. It doesn't matter if it's a foul or not cause reds do not have a spot on the table, only colours do.
Perhaps an attempt to push the red closer to high value colors; which might have been accomplished if Dott was forced to play off balk rail for the brown/green snooker O'Sullivan looked to be trying for.

how many other snooker fans the the style of play of Dott, he would of been better playing in the 70's the time of Griffiths, Reardon, Thornburn et al, when very slow play was the norm. the rues should be changed to incorparate a time limit between shots to make play more watchable. over the years the biggest attractions have been Alex Higgins, Jimmy White and of course Ronnie O'Sullivan who were and are the faster players on the circuit. allowing players to take ages over a shot is bad for business thus i would love to see a 2 min max time per shot.
