The sketches in the book are from 'Journal IV' a booklet that you can buy as an add-on. It's described as "A fictional journal written by a German soldier chronicling the final days of Stalingrad during the zombie apocalypse 1942."
Just ordered this so patiently waiting for it to be delivered 😁 I bought the deluxe version a bit pricey but the zombies and the hero characters look cool. Handy being able to play out of the book too. Everything looks really well made. Looking forward to your playthrough on this one. They have a second game that's just been funded as well "Escape from Projeckt Riese" it's along the same WW2 Zombie theme.
Wow! So well thought out! I love the options for tokens, standees or minis. You can get playing right away with the cardboard tokens, while you paint the minis, if you want. The boxes for the minis are fantastic. Back in the Middle Ages, when I grew up, 😜, there was a company that made metal minis for skirmish games. I got the old west models to play with TSR’s Boot Hill rule set. They came in a cardboard box with the foam insert, so you didn’t need to buy a special plastic box to transport the models. Still have them somewhere. I always wondered what would happen to 40k if you had the option to use cardboard counters or prepainted models. Would it attract more players or just turn the hobbyists off?
The boxes are really nice. I played around with Keynote using top down images of 40k models and it worked great. I could see it as a fun top down game with tokens Epic style.
Looks like $30 USD for the basic set with just the books and counters. $50 gets the standees and character cards plus dice etc. IIRC, the full set with all the minis is around $150.
Hi! As a well versed vetren of the table top gaming arena, i was wondering if you could recommend a game to play with my 9 year old son? Ideally a coop adventure game rather than versus like killteam or warcry. We have tried both but he gets frustrated and the rules can be a bit in depth. Great unboxing and love your content :)
The co-op games I've played have a lot of rules, except Zombicide which is much simpler and my boy has always loved playing it. It does get repetitive but could be a good option for younger players if you don't mind taking out some Z's. I wrote a skirmish game called Weekend Warriors: the ultimate tabletop skirmish game to play with your kids. That might be an option that you could play together, but it is a skirmish game.
@@rayboxgames Wish people would stop doing Vikings. So played out... 10 years of being swamped with Viking nonsense since Skyrim and that stupid History Channel show... ... now The Wars of the Roses... that's a time period I could get behind.
@@paladinpariah325 yes, it is still a very popular genre. We have taken it in kind of a different direction. Both Christians and Vikings are fighting side by side on this one. I wanted to create in the fantasy world but not traditional high fantasty that has been around for over 50 years. What sort of genre would you like to see be made in this fashion.
@@rayboxgames Like I said, Wars of the Roses. Knights on foot in full harness battering the snot out of each other with poleaxes... so much more brutal than Vikings... ... certainly more metal...
With a set of Soviet or Allied cards and minis you’d have the makings of a WWII skirmish game, with or without the zombies.
This is true and we have tabletop rules for free where you can do just that (although no historical scenarios have been created yet).

Always love me some zombie games hehe. Looks cool. Thanks for the video mate 👍
Should be a fun one. Thanks 👊

They've done a brilliant job, the quality is excellent. Have fun playing it when it arrives!

Wonder what the pricing is for these.

Looks like they have taken a page from Jaws of the lion.
I'll have to check that out.
Indeed I have but truthfully, I only discovered JoTL after I started this design. - Marco Pecota.
Looks neat, but zero interest in this genre.
We are working on a Viking sage one as well called Gates of Niflheim.
