- Restoring and customizing the Majorette Diecast Tractor Nº208 1/65 I've had since my childhood. I never liked its wheels, so with my Anycubic Photon 3D Printer I finally was able to 3d design and 3d print new wheels for it

Top notch!!! really like the end result...
Thank you! I have learned a lot by watching your videos!

God has entered the chat
Looks brand new again.
You 3D modeled and printed the wheels! You are beyond insane... and I'm your fan. 🖖🏻🧔🏻
Haha, thank you I guess? 😊
Very impressive wheels and tyres, there seem to be a lot of designs that can be downloaded but very few look like proper tractor tyres, well done!
Very nice! Looks like a Ford 5000 with an IH grill.
Thanks! The wheels and colors was inspired by an old rusty Ford 3000 we had when I was a kid, so you are pretty close :)
as a 3d modeller, it would be nice to see a little more of your modelling process, I can slow the video down, but if the video is already in timelapse i'm just slowing down the few frames we get. Its nice to see how other artist approach models. great work.
The best restoration!!!!! 👏
Spectacular restoration! I love the wheels you made.
Thank you! 🙂
Lots of detail which made for a great finish product.
Thank you!
I chuckled when you glued a screw to the long post you could have clamped to! Great restoration! 👍🏻
Brilliant result. 3D printing is the new way to replace broken plastic parts on diecasts. Diecasts use stock wheels, probably to cut costs, but they are a compromise in looks. Your printed wheels bring the casting up from toy to scale model in appearance.
Thanks! Yeah especially since there is a wave of affordable resinprinters now, and they are just getting better
@@agepbiz I'm learning about 3D printing. Resin printers make a finer resolution model than the PLA type printers. Resin is a good model making medium. I have a number of open wagons and vans, that I have owned since the early 1990's, on my model railway. They were cast in resin in a die / mould. PC's were only desktop XT types back then. Resin models last a long time if they are looked after carefully. My resin wagons run around the layout fine, and they are coupled to factory manufactured "ready to run", and also kit built styrene plastic models.
loving all your detailed work as always. great job!
Thank you!
unreal job!
Simply amazing work!
Thank you!
Fantastic restoration , love the way the wheels were made 👍
Thank you sir! 😊
this is a really helpful guide, considering i'm restoring/redoing an ertl Thomas soon. Well done!
Thank you! I am glad you found it helpful! Good luck with your Thomas project!
Amazing work!
Thank you 🙂
Great job Stian! Nice video as well!
Thank you Gerry!
Amazing result!
Thanks!
What a job!! Great!
Thank you! 😊
you make the best design
Restauro spettacolare, sono senza parole...e le ruote sono un capolavoro. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Great work! Greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷 😃
Thanks!
Cool. Well done!
Thank you!
Crafted, excellent video and awesome result, really detailed to perfection, Paint-working is outstanding.
Thank you very much for the nice words!
Love the wheels!!!!
Thank you!
... das war schon viel Aufwand gewesen ist aber ein wunderschönes Modell geworden. Danke für diese Metamorphose. - ... that was a lot of effort but has become a beautiful model. Thanks for this metamorphosis.
Thank you! Yeah a lot of time and effort is put into this little old toy, but I enjoy the process
I would never understand putting that much time and money into something like this that I had memories of getting in that condition, but man, you did a great job!
Thank you! For me these projects are my hobbies and I enjoy working on them much more then watching TV and such. I am lucky and can not recall last time I was bored. I challenge myself all the time and I often learn a lot while working on these projects. Hobbies are rarely free 🙂 And what I invest in tools for one project usually comes in handy the next projects
The beautifullest ford 5000 !!!
can't be more perfect wooooaaaaaaahhhh
RESPECT Sir! :)
Thank you :)
That's cool as hell
Thank you! 🙂
una belleza! bacan!
wow, thats realy nice
Thank you!
Mate that was awesome :)
Thank you!
I like this a lot, in one of my tech classes we did 3D modeling on Autodesk inventor and I am currently making a 1995 Mazda RX-7 FD bodykit that is coming out very well so far
Thanks! That's great, keep up modeling! :)
So nice to see the attention to detail, which is often lacking from some You Tubers
Thank you for the nice comment! I try my best 🙂
Bellissimo !
İt is impressive keep doing it bro
turned out super great though!
Thanks!
Reminds me of a Ford, very nice!
Thanks! Yeah, we had an old Ford 3000 when I was a kid which was the inspiration for this 🙂
Great job! One more subscriber
Thank you! I appreciate it🙂
How did you build your infrared-box (specially the turning table and .... the transparent cover)?
Really good job with the Traktor. And respect for making the wheel-model by yourself!
Nice.
Thanks!
Молодец !!!
Too much pro, claps!!!!!! 😎
Thanks 😀
Nice new ford
Inspired by the Ford 3000 we had when I grew up🙂
Very nice. I think a touch of Nuln Oil from Citadel would have just helped make some of the finer details pop a little more
Thanks! Yes I think you are right. I do have a bottle of Nuln Oil but I have not tested it yet. I was afraid that I would ruin the model so I did not risk it. I need some more experience with it
@@agepbiz Perhaps pick up some cheap, unrestored models to test with, if you particularly care about this tractor. The engine and various vents and grills in particular would benefit from a shade which is why i mentioned it.
The way I use it is pretty simple. I dip my brush straight into the pot, wipe off some so as to avoid drips and excess and then apply it with short strokes, but you can work it into areas too. Generally it will settle in low spots and flow away from high spots. You can also use paper towels, tissues or old socks to wipe off any areas you wish, as it's not a paint and doesn't smear. There are quite a few decent guides on the internet, including some from Citadel themselves.
Some Agrax Earthshade would also look nice on the wheels and possibly lower body areas. It's essentially Nuln Oil, but brown.
Cool
Thanks!
Oh hell your bringing all the big boys in lol
wow ¡¡¡ , exelente trabajo, que software ocupas para modelar en 3d ?
it's very nice, although i wanted to see the 3d modelling, which was too fast to see what you were doing.
Thank you! Yeah, the problem is that the 3d modeling in real time is way to long and will be way to boring for 90% of the viewers to watch. I have been thinking about adding stuff like that to a secondary channel
@@agepbiz are you working with 3D models in your job?
Yes. I work as a 3d designer
@@agepbiz Ah. :-) I thought in that way, after I read the sentence about the one hour for modeling the Traktor tire. A person without experience would need three hours and more.
Wooow!!! Awesome restoration video i subbed great channel.. hope to see more in the future... big thumbs up... :) ;) =) :D
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Music is ok, result (especially wheels) is great !
Thanks!
I think it looks good, though I personally would have tried to cover up the blue wheel centers with silver paint.
Thanks! I took inspiration for the blue color scheme from an old Ford 3000 tractor my family had when I grew up, so I kind of combined my old toy with our old tractor :)
Very interesting. Won't be PLA print better for this in any way? Because this way here looks much more dangerous but without needing to scratching the material.
Thanks! PLA does not get close to this print quality and surface finish. Scratching is not an issue after the resin has cured
Noice
Im guessing yoy went for a ford tractor look because if you did its spot on
Technically thats a custom paint job rather than a restoration, and i personally would have tapped the post before painting. That said, you did an amazing job.
Thank you! Yeah, I had to order the tap online, none of the local stores had one that did fit and I did not have the patience to wait a few weeks for it, so I just started working on the project without it :)
agepbiz fair enough. Please don't think im detracting from your work, the finished product is far better than the original, which is why i personally would call it a custom job.
No worries. And thank you for the nice words. I guess you are technically correct, this is more a custom job than a restoration. I did mention customization in the description, but I should have included that in the title as well :)
No problem, to be fair this is the first of your videos I've watched, though i will be subscribing and watching more. I don't restore diecast myself, i usually work in 28mm wargaming scale.
Thanks! This was my first ever diecast restoration/customization. I do a lot of other stuff, 3d printing and 3d modeling, both my own stuff and fan art. Please take a look and I hope you will like it :)
Job Great Looking Cool(Cheers)✨🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺✨👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃
hi!May i ask you one thing? Can i print like this Good quality tractor wheels with my ender 3 pro?or i must buy a SLA printer?
FDM printers wont be able to print with this level of detail on such a small model. The resin print looks so good that it looks like it is injection molded. A wheel printed on the Ender 3 sure will be usable though
I like the electric screwdriver can you please give a link on where I can purchase one
Link is in the description 🙂
nice job and soundtrack marty :)
Wonderful job! Your modeling work is flawless and I hope to be able to use those programs as well as you when I get my 3D printing hobby up and running. I do have a personal request, I believe the background music is just a tad too loud. Please don't take this as bad criticism because it just may be me (I am currently recovering from brain surgery and it may be just my ears trying to readjust to the new me)
Thank you for the nice words! Since I dont do any talking and voiceover I left the background music at its default volume, but as you say that is too loud, thank you 🙂
What kind of metal do you use to make the new axles?
Search for this on ebay: "10pcs Round Shaft Rod Axle Steel 1mm x 100mm for RC Toy Car"
Awesome job,bro,but next time,another music,😂
Thank you! I understand not liking the music, I found it to be funny and fitting the tractor theme 🙂
NIce job. But.... you used all the original parts, why did you feel the need to make new wheels and tires? The originals looked as good as any of the other original parts. Curious for the reason.
The wheels has always annoyed me, even when I was a kid. They did not have any realistic threads, and the rim was ugly. For me this was the challenge if I was able to make them more realistic while still keeping the metal and rest of the plastic. I guess I could have modelled a more detailt body to match the wheels as well, but then it would no longer be an restoration and customizion of an old toy. I've had the tractor on my shelf for many years awaiting to be fix, but my old FDM printers has not been detailed enough to pull it off. For me this is about the process as it is the end result
nice job now it looks like a tractor
Thanks!
BBBBBEEEEEEUUUUUUTTTIIIIFFFFUUUUUULLL😎😎👏👏👏✌✌
Thank you!
Hey
Great job, but please, NO MUSIC!
Don't you have a volume control? Wouldn't it make more sense for you to turn it down since you don't like it rather than expecting everyone else to go without? Selfish.
With the new wheels, looks better than factory.
Why glue a screw to clamp to when there is a long post to clamp.
You put "Detailing" when it was just one colour on the engine. I was expecting the engine block to be one colour and the small details on it being another colour. You just pen painted them chrome.
Thank you. I added a screw for the clamp so that it would not overshadow the inside of the cabin when painting. I needed to get an even coat of paint inside
Also detailing doesn't necessary mean that you add more stuff to it: Detailing: the process of thoroughly cleaning the interior and exterior of a vehicle and doing minor repairs to improve its appearance
Apparently you don’t have a voice so can’t tell what you’re doing, nice tractor though. Thanks
Thanks. Yeah, unfortunately I am not comfortable talking on camera yet. Awkward Norwegian accent :) But guess I need to practice
agepbiz nothing wrong with a norwegian accent. I follow a guy from Czechoslovakia with an accent. He gets along nicely.
agepbiz oh and the music really not great
I dont expect everyone to like the choice of music. I found it to be tongue in cheek funny, fitting the tractor theme 🙂
Yeah, but I get way to self aware, and start stumbling in my words when on camera. I have a few videos where I talke a few sentences, and I cringe everytime I listen to it.. haha. But yeah, practice 🙂
Nope on everything.
I'm sorry you didn't like it
tone down the music not crazy about the selection better if you talk about it explain some insights, your opinion and difficulties .. nothing wrong with video
Thank you. Yeah I wish I was more comfortable talking. Guess I just need to practice more. English is not my native language so talking gets very awkward 🙂
Why this painful music you can't talk do something els!
If you heard my awkward norwegian accent I bet you would want the music back.. haha
@@agepbiz
I think that it would add to your videos.
Nice outcome of this tractor.🙂
Thanks!
@@agepbiz
You are welcome 🙂
Don't listen to him. The music is great! Very soothing. I'm adding it to my relax music list! Nice work too!
You took an IH from a terrible green and yellow and painted it to look like a Ford, Why? If you're going to go to all that effort at least paint it to look like an IH.
3dmax for kids toy, overengineering much?
So what do you suggest? That I use a tool that I am unfamiliar and inefficient with? If it's stupid and it works it's not stupid :)
:), relax, Im just jealous, Id really like to be able to do that stuff, seems nice.
I chuckled when you glued a screw to the long post you could have clamped to! Great restoration! 👍🏻
Thanks! Haha, yeah I see your point, but I did not want to risk the clamp getting in the way of getting a nice paint coverage on the inside of the cabin :)
