  • At his heaviest, Chandler Camden weighed close to 270 pounds. When you love food, eating, and the way it feels to devour a pizza or three foot-long sandwiches-at least while in the moment-steady weight gain is bound to occur.

    "I wasn't eating to get full," Camden admits. "I was eating until I couldn't fit anymore in." A deceptive sense of control drove up his numbers on the scale, but that wasn't enough to spark change-at least initially.
    "There was always a 50/50 thought between 'I don't look that bad' and 'I'm disgusted with how I look,'" he says. "It was never enough to get me to decide whether to fix myself or let myself go."
    When his 13-year military career ended in 2012, Camden finally took the first step toward change. Then, after losing 70 pounds with diet alone, he needed to kick things up a notch. At that point, Chandler had been stalled at 200 pounds for more than a year.
    For him, along with many people facing the battle of the bulge, the last 40 pounds were the hardest. His last-minute decision to sign up for the $200K challenge gave him the push to break through his plateau and change his life forever.

    Everyone wants to talk shit on the amount of muscle he has but nobody understands as a service member you definitely work out a lot but the lifestyle forces you to over eat or look to food as comfort. The second he started chiseling away the muscle was already there. Thank you for your service and congratulations on your journey Chandler!

    My spark....looked down at the weight scale, looked at the mirror, and saw a picture of myself from a few years ago. Had enough, and over the last 6 months, I've dropped 45lbs. NEVER BEEN HAPPIER IN MY LIFE. Start now. It's never too late.

      did you do more weight training or more cardio??

    • @TheBlooRayChannel
      @TheBlooRayChannel 8 років тому

      maurice reid Weight training. In terms of cardio, just walking for 30 odd minutes every other night. Cardio is basically keeping your heart rate up for a certain period and I do that with my lifting, keeping rest levels as low as possible not sacrificing reps or volume.

    • @blacklightning7570

      TheBlooRayChannel that must be what am doing wrong in my training. Am doing alot of cardio but not seeing much results from my stomach going down.

    I exercise a lot but I'm stuck at one place right now because my diet is messed up.... I get really emotional and sometimes cry because I'm a slave to food. It controls me. Sometimes I wanna give up and I go through deep bouts of depression and suffer from low self esteem. But this video with this man detailing his journey is so inspirational and has given me motivation to make a change! If there is anyone out there struggling with weight problems and eating problems, you're not alone! The strength is inside of us! Sometimes we slip up but pick yourself up back and get it done!

      Abdul Malik I have the same bro, this is the worst part, continue, try again, try it one more time and say, now you are doing it. I believe in you, not because I know you. But I see if you post this at a motivation video, I believe in that you really want it. Try it, and focus, focus this time, challenge yourself for example 3 months.

    I been there. I was 272 but on my frame thats very obese. My diet is on point now. Going whole plant based foods has shut down my appetite. I go to 30 minute hit 3 to five times a week and boot camp twice a week. The progress is slow but steady. The hardest part is being positive in my mind set and being patient. I am 245 now - only 95 more to go. But I am gaining strength, muscle, and endurance as I go. My plank is up to two minutes. Its a solid start.

    very nice story. I've let myself go, physically and mentally, it hurts and saddens me on occasions, to often for me to brunt my sorrow. Recently, I purchased home weights i.e. barbell 5ft, dumbbell, weights and a bench. I was at a gym over a year ago but it costs and takes time out of the day.my aim is to get physically tweaked to feel better about my body, to feel I can move around easily and not feeling I carrying weight of my own around. I feel slim, shirt drooping of me. Then to feel mentally well, feel positive, able to lift myself to talk, have a voice and not be submissive and silent and always in agreement with others because I feel they are better than me. I wish to get to point of feeling able and being a person again.

I've adjusted my body in the meantime through alot of exercise and utilizing the knowledge about nutrition I aquired, but I still love eating way too much and I just can't fix this almost addiction-like love for the feeling of satisfaction which eating gives me.

      harooni22 why are you mad ?

    • @ariefraiser140
      @ariefraiser140 7 років тому

      harooni22 oh....So your conclusion is based on ignorance. Genetically gifted doesn't mean a person doesn't have to lose weight...that's nonsense bro science.....in fact that's so misguided it's an insult to bro science.
      All being genetically gifted means is you are able to reach an athletic or physical goal much more easily than most people. It doesn't mean you don't have to do any work and losing a certain amount of weight is to get competition ready is work that ALL bodybuilders must do to get competition ready...Some who are genetically gifted may be able to do it in less time while eating more calories than most but I've yet to run across any competetive bodybuilder natural or not, genetically gifted or not, who didn't have to follow some sort of cutting regiment to get ready for a competition.

    • @ariefraiser140
      @ariefraiser140 7 років тому

      harooni22 I'm not sure where you're getting your definition for genetically gifted from but it is beyond laughable.
      Like I said in my last post genetically gifted doesn't mean a person doesn't have to put in the work. That's an insult to people that are genetically gifted who bust their ass in the gym and follow a discipline diet.
      Like I said before all being genetically means is you are able to achieve some sort of athletic or training goal easier than most not that you don't have to do ANYTHING and still achieve the goal.
      I've played all kinds of sports in high schoola and college. I played on a D I-AA which had its share of genetically gifted athletes. ...they all had to put in the work in the gym and the kitchen to look a certain way....All my years of playing sports, and involvement in body building competition I've never seen any type of person you're describing that didn't have to lose weight because they were "genetically gifted"

People like me do not really want to listen to a video of someone talking about what they did withOUT proof. Please, this is just an honest statement to help you guys maybe change the ...video\story line. Maybe have the same interview WITH time progress pictures. Yes all in all you HAVE to take a mental step to make a change in YOURSELF, but it also helps when we watch videos with actual progress.

Enjoying food is certainly not a "waste of time"...but it can take a toll on your health. But so can stressing out over every morsel too, so it's constantly a swinging pendulum of forces.

      4 liters of milk a day. Try to get whole raw organic milk. U need to pay attention to body fat increase. I've been dong it for a week now, gained 5 pounds. A lot stronger, no body fat increase as of yet. I'm on trt so that helps a little, maybe a lot with burning fat. Some people say it's the worst thing to do gain weight, don't know but for me at this moment, it's kickin' ass. Muscles r fuller more energy in the gym. I actually drink a liter when I'm working out. Try it. U start getting too fat, stop. Nothing to lose.

      You don't need to spend a lot just buy cheap and eat 6 meals a day every 3 to 4 hours, up the fat intake if you are a hard gainer if not just always keep it clean and in time you will gain that size and mass if you are training hard as well

    This video makes this guy seem like a crybaby, but I don't think is. Too many "reflective" shots with eyes you expect to be tearing up and drone sounds for forced emotion.
