Congrats on your pin pickup! I'd love to have a Galaxy for a little while, as it seems like a pretty fun game. I personally owned a Stern Meteor for a little while. Their games from that era feel solid and generally play fast.
I remember playing this machine at our local bowling alley in the early 80's. Been thinking about trying to track one down for nostalgic reasons. Thanks for the video. Brings back a ton of memories.
Oh yes, I remember this table very well. One if my all time favourites and the only place I ever saw it was Soho (London). It was so popular at the time people used to queue to play this.
I have this pinball machine! We are having an issue with the right flipper! It’s hard to explain though! If I hold the button down it will constantly flutter. Any thoughts?
Very nice tutorial. I got my Galaxy last year and love it. Its fast and mean. With an amazing sound package. I Still don't understand what lights the spinner!? Ideas? Thanks for the great video .
A spent slot of pocket money on that machine initially but a could pretty much play it indefinitely with free games won that was 82 in glasgow a was 18 ,thirty years later a saw one in Prague I was delighted but the machine was half dead nice to see that one brings the memories back.
Sweet! I'm a Bally man myself as I'm sure you know. Does it use the bayonet 45 or 47 lights? If so I can send you a few boxes of new ones I bought. I'm switching over to all LED and will not be needing them or the ones in my machine. Have fun!
Yes, you are correct the original lights are 44s. My bad. The replacement in LED I purchased are 47s. Which does mean I have 10 packs of new 04-0044 Lamp #44 Miniature I don't need. :( Well, 1.50 a pack so not much invested. I had to change the lamp driver board with an LED driver board in my Bally or the controlled LEDs would flicker like mad. I used the allteksystems ULTIMATE LED/LAMP DRIVER BOARD. It does list the Stern Galaxy as supported.
I would definitely take those 44's off your hands. I may eventually switch to LEDs. You should do an update video on your pinball machine. Is it running smoothly?
I really have to get cracking on my restoration. I'm at the point of my last video. Still thinking of putting down a few more coats of automotive clear and buffing it out to a glass finish. I might be getting too anal about that so I could keep the two coats and move one with the cabinet paint job. I'll send an email to get your address for the bulbs, I will not be needing them.
Love how these older pinball machines sound like.
One of the best parts of the gaming experience.
I love this era of pinball. Great stuff.
UnoSquid We saw some of the most original and creative designs back then.

Very fast for the time!

Todd Harrison They are actually 44's. I was also considering LEDs.

How much do these machines go for? I’ve been looking for a galaxy pinball machine
It depends on where you live. They sell for probably $600-$1000.
Great video, thanks!
