My motivation has hinged on my mental illness. The soundtrack Xanadu has helped to sing. This Soundtrack was one that as a kid that meant a lot to me. It's connected to my best friend back then.
Sing has always been apart of me. As a kid I used it to express myself. I grew up in a abusive home. I would sing about my problems. I made up my tune and put in my words. Music to me is the very thing that penatrates your heart which allows it to open up. My goal was to write and sing my own music. I want to inspire others with music.
I am on the praise team at my church. I love it but it is not my highest goal. I am scared that I don't know how to get there. My depression and anxiety get in the way to even be motivated for anything.
I do get compliments but this isn't as important. I do touch people with my voice. This does mean something to me.
    Well there you have it.

Hi Ken , I really appreciate your methodology for teaching , I totally agree with all the reasons you gave for being motivated , I used to live at a Christian ministry where they had services 7 days a week and twice on Sunday, they had a song service for a haft an hour at the beginning and ending of every service , music was a big part of the church , HB Barnum was the music director he was part of the wrecking crew back in the day also the Pastor Tony Alamo before he was saved had been a promoter ( he had promoted Sony and Cher ) and had cut some albums himself he also was the first to come out with the oldies but goodies albums , the church also had a cothing store I'm Nashville where they sold western ware and Tony's airbrushed jackets that all the stars bought , anyway my point is I always loved singing but would like to perfect how I sing , so thank you for doing such a good job I very much appreciate your teaching ❤️

Thank you for this - I'm sitting here making myself a mask out of an old blouse and watching your really helpful video. I'm a visual artist, but I learn a lot from musicians and their processes. I think what you say applies to a whole range of other creative fields. I'm going to watch the video again and write down some things to bear in mind! I'll be there for your next uploads too, about learning to love one's own voice, because I often don't like my own work. Thanks again.

Hey Ken! Just got your course and love it. Been singing for years with a great teacher and working through primary MTD. I'm a lot better than I was but I seemed to have hit a ceiling I can't get past and your course is helping me sooo much and I'm just starting. The way you explain things makes so much sense to me and I love how in depth you go. I am a big reader and love learning about all the anatomy and such. I have the Vocal Athlete by Wendy Leborgne and also the Body Learning about Alexander Technique. I was wondering if you have any great book recommendations for learning and also I was wondering about your thoughts on the Alexander technique? Thank you so much for all you do and all your help! Its so much appreciated!

Hi Ken, brilliant Video as always i'm a huge fan. I'm planning to get on your program in the near future but wondering if you could answer my question. When practicing scales or open notes the lowest I can go to an F2# and the highest I can go is an E4 but I can go alot higher to even E5 but struggle to go between the two areas E4 and E5 it's like I have to sing differently or "screech" . I also do get headaches when singing high, do you have any suggestions or tips? is it new to strain or tension? Thanks Ken.

I love to sing! I sing in the shower, while I'm driving, at work wherever. EXCEPT...when I get around people other than my kids. Unless I'm singing to the radio. Then I cant help myself. But I always feel like maybe I wont sound good or something. I totally lack confidence. When I was young I sang in every variety show I possible could and in state competitions always taking 1st place. But as I got older I lost my confidence for some reason. I know I have a natural gift for singing. I watch your videos and practice all the time. Now my little sister (who sang in a blues band lead vocals) has a great voice. I dream of her amd I singing together and so does she. I want to sing a certain song to her and do and I want her to be blown away by it. I can vision myself performing this song but I cant even sing a Christmas Carol in front of her much less a song meant for her. How can I get over this feeling I'm not good enough to let other people hear me. Do you have any advice on how to.gain confidence? By the way you have the most amazing voice !! Your range in unbelievable! I do believe there is no song you cant sing and I love your videos !! Thank you for all your time in teaching me how to.sing better.
