Facts, I've been playing kh2 since I was 4 on the ps2. Now I'm 18 I played all the games and I love it. Sora in smash is the biggest thing ever and maining him. Then kh on the switch is even more hyped. Kh is the biggest impact on my whole life

I'm glad the Kingdom Hearts games are coming to the Switch. Only problem: The games are cloud-based. Having games that are cloud-based just defeats the purpose of playing it on the go.
What does cloud based means?
@@ParadoxicalAnima It means it will require Wi-Fi access to play. Your switch won't actually be doing the processing for the game. It'll be running on a server elsewhere and being streamed to your Switch.
@@ParadoxicalAnima to add to the other answers, it also means that when those servers shut down, you will lose access for those games. So you're paying full price for a game that they control how and when you play.

Sora in Nintendo can only mean that Disney and Nintendo had to shake hands on some sort of agreement. Let’s push towards seeing more Disney and Nintendo collaboration, perhaps as Nintendo worlds in Kingdom Hearts, as a Disney movie based on a Nintendo game, and let’s see if Square Enix and Disney can cooperate and make Kingdom Hearts into a real movie! Wouldn’t that be so cool? It’s not going to happen unless fans think it’s a good idea, so let’s remember that our hearts will blend and step forward to realize this wish.

Kingdom Hearts saved my life. Real story. In middle school, I was succumbing to depression and was the target to a lot of bullying. Worst, I often thought of ending it... Then I played this game. The one word that rang true was "No matter how deep the darkness, there will always be a door to the light." I have played all the games ever since, now as a grown adult. Thank you, Kingdom Hearts! I probably wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for you. ❤️
I love your comment but much more that you’re still here with us. I was also unhappy around that age, and KH was always a place to escape. Sora is like a friend who’s always there for you, and that’s been true even in adulthood. A few years ago a friend of mine died, and I remember one of the things that helped me get past the shock and back to my senses was to play KH2.5. As silly as it may sound, I just had to be with Sora, Donald and Goofy for a little while to help me get through it. That’s the real magic of KH. It’s like an invisible bond of hope that connects us all. I hope you’re doing well and just know, if the darkness in life ever creeps back in, Sora and the KH family will have your back ;)

We're same, Matthew 😁 I was in a deep depression and heartbreak after my 4 years realationship was end. And Kingdom Hearts was my savior. I also wanted to end my life but after meeting the characters and huge story my pains was gone away because I couldn't find a time for thinking while playing the game and doing research about theories 😁 I'm also here thanks to KH
I kinda feel a similar way. I first played this game at the darkest and bleakest point in my life, and it helped me so much.
Nomura wasn’t lying when he said he sad something special in store for the Switch….😭thank you to Sakurai, Nomura, and EVERYONE involved in the negotiations and development of #Sora4Smash and the KH series on Switch.

@@repeekyraidcero More likely it'll show them that it isn't worth bringing any future KH games to the Switch. Sales for MoM were low across all consoles already because so many people had a problem with it being a rhythm game, so if this doesn't sell, they probably just won't bother anymore.
@@stevenhiggins3055 I had a problem with it because it only had 15 minutes of story and barely any KH tracka just mainly disney. If Bob Igor could kindly not ruin KH4 by making Nomura create an exposition title for xbox player then we will be lucky.
I wish they weren’t cloud versions. That’s disappointing. I’d much rather have physical copies so I can play offline and on my breaks at work. My workplace has the WORST internet. Not to mention the internet speeds in my town as a whole has been abysmal as of late. So if you could take the time to make physical copies for Switch, that would make everyone who is like me able to play these games on Switch.
If it has to be multiple copies and I have to pay for each one, so be it. I’ll do it.
I can understand a cloud version of KH3, cuz that game struggles a little even on PS4, but 1.5+2.5?? Surely the Switch can handle those fine.

The only ones I can be ok with seeing as cloud are the ones being made in unreal engine 4 like a fragmentary passage or 3. This is a huge slap in the face to the kingdom hearts fandom considering the only actual physical kingdom hearts game is a rythem game. A fucking rhythm game!

@@voidhunter9474 if it's powerful enough to play ps3 ports, it's powerful enough to play the first two compilations, at least. Hell, the switch plays many games released on ps4 and xbox just fine with some graphical downgrades, which many of us would be okay with happening with kh3.

Even if they couldn't get the ps3 versions to work im sure they could have used some ps2 emulation to get 1 and 2 fm to run and use official translations as well as the voices.

1.5+ 2.5 have no reason to be stuck on the cloud. The switch can run ps2 games just fine, you can probably convert them onto the switch format without too many issues.
Ps3 and ps4 ya mean ;) No clue if my switch lite can do it, but it would be rebuying the games

I think it's more of a legal issue than a technical issue. It took them long enough even to release it on PC, give them some time, it's a good thing Sora is already on Smash, it means Nintendo is interested. In my opinion (based on just speculation), I think it's very likely they will release it for switch soon.
@@PedroATLopes I doubt it's anything related to getting permission from Nintendo, seeing as how some of the games were originally released on Nintendo systems without issue. They already ported Melody of Memory to the Switch. Unless it's about the rights of some of the worlds featured.
If there were truly no technical issues, the games would've at least had a digital only release with downgrades in the graphical department for 2.8 and 3. I only hope there's an option for a proper release at some point in the future.

First Sora gets into Smash Ultimate and now we have an anniversary announcement. Today is an amazing day to be a KH fan or even just a casual enjoyer of KH.
Can't believe it's been 20 years already, I still love this game series and still play. That being said hurry and bring them out on Steam.
Sadly that might not happen since Epic Games has a contract where you can only have a game on one or the other :(

You know what’s more magic? The potential of Kingdom Hearts including Nintendo worlds, or of Disney and Nintendo being making some bomb products, like a Legend of Zelda anime on the Disney channel. I mean, we’ve seen the power of collaboration, so if we [peaceably] push towards Square Enix, Disney, and Nintendo deepening their bonds, we can see more of each other’s best in everything that the single one does. This, of course, is only if we agree to avert complacency and focus on what’s right.

Man oh man. Kingdom Hearts. As a writer, I have some serious gripes with the storytelling of this series. But as a gamer, and as someone who will forever be a kid at heart, goddamn do I love these games.

That’s probably because Kingdom Hearts wasn’t thought out in a day or even in the scope of a single game’s lifetime. Kingdom Hearts had to be written and developed after the fact, and they had to find a way to incorporate every old game’s plot in the introduction of every new game’s plot, even if that was to just find a way of making a plot up for the sake of making a new game. Either way, I love Kingdom Heart’s story, but too see it improved upon in a professional way (as from a writer’s standpoint, etc.) would be nice too. In my opinion, the characters, music, and story are what make Kingdom Hearts so special. I absolutely LOVE the simplicity of important concepts, such as light, darkness, friendship, and hearts. But I agree, the storyTELLING could use some work, but the story itself is intriguing and beautiful.

@@aliciabuchanan7080 I mean, I'm pretty sure Switch can handle at least 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 (maybe with the exception of BBS 0.2), but the porting is way too pricey so it's much simpler for the publisher to just dump the cloud version with little extra work

If you want to play offline you have to take it on ps4/5.. Switch is for a little match during pooping.. (poop verb is pooping? I’m italian😂)

If they are going to be cloud-based versions, trust me, they will disappoint in every aspect. You’re better off playing either the PS4 or PC versions, the later coming out soon on the Steam Deck.

Amazing to see sora in smash. Was super excited for the switch collection till i seen cloud version. How can they not just run on the switch normally ? I probably wont be able to play these with my internet not being great. Hopefully ps5 will get the collection soon.

Modern Vintage Gamer did a video on this, even porting a PS2 game to the Switch would take at least 2 years, because it is NOT an easy task. The cloud only version is how you more easily get around this and the Switch's very small amount of ram and lower hardware specs compared to the PS4.
They planned this so well I'm not even mad, I'm glad. 🤧

Switch Players forgetting that Kingdom Hearts has to go through 3 businesses to make this transition happen.

Its not ab being grateful or ungrateful. Ill give you 3 reasons why your comment is just ignorant.
1. The first 2 games are able to be ported and possibly easily sonce they were played on games 2 generations ago and had remasters.
2. People got switch for its portability you cant play cloud games on the go unless you got blazing fast internet and 85% or more of switch players dont have that.
3. We already saw how others games handled in cloud it was filled with lag and many other things.
4. Just to add on comparing pc and switch cloud isnt the same as pc if you dont have good internet and dont want to play on the move you wouldnt have bought a pc. But most of the switches games dont require internet and the switch is meant to be played anywhere.

They ported them to Xbox and Epic Games, so there's no excuse here. They very well could've ported 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 if they put in an ounce of effort.

Our boy made it into smash people. He was the key that linked all their worlds as one.
Kingdom Hearts 2 was on of the first games I ever played, and it stayed my favorite game until this day, I LOVE the Kingdom Hearts Series, and I will always love it!
