Loving Pigments, it's become my goto VST for anything where I'm going to create the sound myself. It's great having a plugin that I enjoy using to design sounds as much as when using hardware.
I like how even the grittier sounds don't sound harsh to my ears with Pigments. Usually, those gritty sounds that get used for EDM, or whatever, tends to sound harsh to me and I tend to hate them. They sound cleaner on Pigments, alongside the softer and more mellow sounds. Makes me want to cop the software soon.
For anyone wondering if this is worth it or not, let me put your mind it ease. This plugin is incredibly inspiring. Serum sounds good but this brings softsynth wavetables to the analog sounding realm. For sure I have not heard a plugin of this type sounding as good as this. It’s a no brainer.
VERY Impressed. I have most of the VST synths out there; hundreds. I really like this unit, getting into some really complex cross-talk in the modulation and effects. I would recommend it, even if you DO have Reaktor already (and I have all of Arturia's SW & all of NI's). A different 'machine' in the mix always leads to more interest. For $69 it's a no-brainer.
I enjoyed each and every sound i reproduced during the video. Thanks, great VST Synth. With my KeyStep 37 the knobs are nicely mapped to Pigments MACROS and more.
It took me some time to realize how powerful, yet easy to understand and use Pigments actually is. With zillions of mediocre soft synths out there, sometimes it's hard for the real gems to shine. Pigments is definitely one of them.
I love the interface, the sound and at $99.00 it was a bargain. There is a delay in sound between program changes (only standalone version tested) but that should not be an issue since I purchased it for studio recording. Thanks Arturia I have purchased your great products since the first V Collection. Waiting for you guys to add the Voyetra 8 or ESQ-1 to the lineup. Keep up the good work.
I have to admit it makes my Waldorf Quantum sound a bit lame, shows what great presets can do but it will be a great resource to sample and bring in to the Quantum and makenoise morphagene for more processing as well as controlling via the modular, congrats on a great release and if your a long time customer like me then the price I got of 69 Euro makes it a bargain :-)
PROPS Arturia - currently MY FAVORITE synth on my system - very satisfied customer! That tune at 0:13 is off the chain, and sounds gorgeous! - That's the kind of tune I'd be playing while driving 75-mph on the Cross Island Parkway! 😛 Is that project available somewhere on your website? I'd love to see the sounds setups used in that project.
The user interface looks really good, but *_it works for two seconds, then freezes for two seconds, then works for two seconds again, etc.._* Many arturia instruments are like this, they freeze at a certain frequency. And I have an 8 core processor and 32gb ram. I have hundreds of premium VST's and none of them behave like arturia's... What could be wrong?
Hey there, That's odd... With such a good set up, you should have no issues. Feel free to contact our support team to figure this out: www.arturia.com/support/askforhelp Best
The latest beta from Serum is MPE compatible. Is Pigments compatible with MPE? The first five graphics in the center modulation panel look as if they could be set up to work with something MPE compatible like a Roli Seaboard Rise. I would be interested in buying this if it were MPE compatible.
It seems to be a great synth. But, as I already have Reaktor 5, Is it worth expending such money in Pigments? At first look, I had the feeling that I can achieve these textures and sounds with Reaktor. P.S: It is a sincere question. I have V COLLECTION 6 and I simply love it. Congratulations to ARTURIA team anyway! Thanks.
@@ArturiaOfficial Thanks for the reply. Disregarding incoming audio, would it be possible to use plugins that will generate MIDI notes from incoming audio, so i could use one of those to trigger Pigments from a guitar? Or will it only accept MIDI keyboards?
How do I save my presets and open them again on the VST? I save it with all my info but I never find it in the browser, same thing happens if I export and then try to import, nothing happens at all.
Hi Ray. Mute all tracks except the midi track that Pigments is on. Then export the audio (this is called rendering) to a new audio track - you will get options re bit depth and stereo/mono etc at this point. That's it, but remember to set your start/end locators correctly to encompass all of the performance that you want. It's easy to forget this and only end up rendering the bit between your locators. Hope this helps.
Umm... not to rain on Arturia's parade... while this seems like a nice, flashy new synth, why in the world would I ever want to buy it when I already have much, and I do mean much more powerful Vengeance Avenger and UVI Falcon, both of which I bought on sale for about 50% less than this?
HELP! should i buy Serum @ $10/month or Pigments upgrade for $100? The sequencer adds value for Pigments but i feel like Serum offers more in terms of sound customization? am i looking at this wrong?
Just get both. I certainly don’t regret owning both, because they individually bring certain aspects to the table depending on what you’re striving for.
I was testing it, wasnt sure yet. Then came 12th of january and it was still available as upgrade when you owned V collection. But now its gone. I thought only free testing until 10th of january and afterwards for V collection owners it would stay available at the lower price. But it was not. Fuck arturia, as the V collection was only at low price at Black Friday, but is still now. So they sure know how to play the game.

Hi there, Our special offer lasted for a month, until January 10th. Pigments is not part of V Collection, so the price policy is different. Now that the offer is over, it's back at 199$ for everyone. Best regards,
