This is one of those games where you forget its existence for years then suddenly a part of your brain remembers it as a clay game and you search it up to come back for nostalgia.
Fantastic! Great work. I'm the person who made this game, a long time ago now. Your video has brought back some memories. :) When I originally wrote this (the first PC version which was released on CD), there was only keyboard/joypad control (no mouse) and "hard" difficulty was the only difficulty. This is playing the game as it was originally intended! The game was heavily influenced by 1942, which is where you get things like the semi-random distribution of small enemies and the emphasis on trying to go for 100% in each round. I tried to make it so there was always a little bit more you could do to score more points, so that you could score attack it, but until now I didn't think anybody had ever taken the game seriously enough to really go for a high score. There's seven digits for a reason :) It made me happy to see you holding on to your wingmen and X2 multiplier and get the big bonuses and 100%s. This was my first finished game and there's a lot I might have done differently; I didn't plan much and didn't have time to really fix anything after, so I just started at the start and worked my way to the end and it all just sort of came out however it came out. If something I added didn't work out so great I still kept it in but just didn't use it again (that's why there's no return to the minefield which everybody hates or the volcano which is so unfair). Thanks for overlooking the rough spots and for understanding what I was trying to get at. This has made my day.
Anthony Flack Thank you! Been playing this game since the original release and still trying it from time to time. Nice clay animations, the perfect selection of music and easy mechanics combined with the great challenge - it was my favorite game to play with my older brother back in the days. You did a wonderful job with Platypus, and I'm glad you liked the video :)

My late grandmother knew how much her grandkids liked videogames, and she went out of her way to download a ton of weird flash and obscure early 2000’s games. This and Hamster Ball were our go to’s on the family computer at her house, albeit it was a pretty slow computer. I’m so glad I remembered this game exists, because it reminds me of late nights with my siblings and cousins working together to beat the hardest parts of this game. And it reminds me most of all of my grandma and the things she did to make our stay at her house a little more fun. Miss her very much. Thank you Anthony Flack for making my childhood really fun.
