1. If you can get that close to someone on the cannons, you can also shoot them which is more valuable
2. The harpoon gun has a pretty short range
3. If you board with it on an enemy ship, you will have only 1 weapon at your arsenal because you can no longer switch weapons on enemy ships
4. It's loud
I don't think it's game breaking, people are over reacting it. It's a pretty neat utility weapon which has never been in sea of thieves before. But it has a cost to use it, the versatility of another weapon. If someone can pull it off I think it's deserved. Probably there will be situations where it's really useful and annoying, but it's not game breaking

I think it is a pretty good tool that can be generate super cool situations, like when you steal as you imagine a peace of loot that is very valuable xD!

Just gonna say this, right now don't even try to board a sloop with this gun unless you want to just get on the ladder, I have tried so many times to board my own sloop with this thing and shooting near the ladder and grabbing it is the only way I could board sloops so far

If nobody has mentioned it yet, I've seen people use it by harpooning people from the crow's nest/mast and deal fall damage

The new harpoon gun is so fun when I’m just solo slopping and island hopping, makes my quests that much faster and i just use the sword or blow dart as my secondary

I think the Harpoon Gun has better use on Hourglass if you have a teammate with good combat skills. You reel them in and they get the kill.

Stand on the mast side then grapple your frends, they fall and break their ankle, then you get sent to the brig

Its not really a weapon... its a tool since its just used to board enemy ships, harpoon people or loot, other than that there is no major purpose and since it doesnt deal damage (other than npcs) can you really consider it a weapon?

Its a good weapon in comparison to... idk no weapon at all? Cause even the DB pistol does damage. And its a shit PvP weapon.
Blunder for boarder guard Sniper for long range getting cannon off and both for 2 taps.
