Interscope played 2Pac. I always say that. 2Pac 4 albums at Interscope went gold and one of them was platinum. The dude had couple of movies under his belt, playing a lead role. All. Of the sudden he doesnt have money for bail. Nah.
A lot of his albums under interscope (besides MATW) went gold/platinum after he died. His first album didn’t do well at all also. A lot of the public wasn’t really buying his albums until MATW & AEOM. Before Deathrow, he was mainly known for his movie roles and altercations/criminal record.
@Scotty Lom Me Against the World debuted at number 1. He hadn't gotten the royalty checks yet. I don't know what that document is but Pac said he was due royalties from interloper and thought they should advance the money for bail. The guy in the video doesn't know what he's talking about. Tupac was dropped before this stuff happened that the guy in the video is talking about. Afeni sued because Pac kept his rights and Suge was trying to release music he didn't own.
Business went downhill because after repeated requests from Pac to have his contract drawn by David Kenner, Kenner never did it because legally he could not represent Pac under those conditions. Three major music corporations funded Pac's bail from prison and Suge received a publishing deal out of it. Meanwhile, Suge Knight used Pac's money to pay Nate Dogg's child support and he did something else too which was messed up.
This is very sad when you think about it. I did not know Pac but from all the interviews, documentaries, people who knew him and people who was around say thatPac was a real dude and hard working and just wanted our people to unite and rise. He wanted us all to be the Roses from Concrete. Pac got so Fucked. But his momma was there for him and retrieved what was his and now his sister is well off. So in the end, he accomplished what he sat out to do and that was to take care of his family. It just costed him more than money. R.I.P Legend!!!
THANK YOU. Been trying tell all of this people this for years upon years. Death Row only had production power. Not marketing, not distribution.. with the production agreement, Suge got to keep the masters. That’s it.

Dude just blew the cover off that Death Row signed Pac story.....damn.....he's probably the most reputable voice I've heard in this space. The one thing that I'd ask as a follow-up is: what about this story of Tupac supposedly auditing Death Row?
That's a true story confirmed by Pac's aunt Gloria Cox (Kastro's mother). She and Yaasmyn Fula (Kadafi's mother) were in control of his personal business affairs. Pac called the shots. They executed the paperwork.
I'd like to know if it was really interscope who signed pac, why would they allow suge to keep the lie going and make pac believe that it was suge who bailed him out. Somebody should have said something and maybe he wouldn't be dead today. I dont think pac wanted to be on death row but he stayed because he felt like he had to due to him believing that suge got him out of jail
@@dee-dee8718 I mean he kinda just explained it. Def seemed as if Pac was unknowing though. Def raises a lot of questions.
He threatened to call in auditors on Deathrow because Suge prevented him from accessing his own masters - he then fired David Kenner via Yaasmyn Fulla (Kadafi's mother), and funnily enough he was killed shortly after.

I love that this guy is thorough, but two things worth pointing out: 1. The memo to Interscope from jail had the "contract" with DR, a term sheet if you may, attached to it. The fact that it wasn't detailed enough didn't really matter since Interscope remained DR's distributor and 'Pac already had a working relationship with them. 2. 2Pac's Interscope contract was probably for 3 albums, and he had satisfied that with "Me Against The World". The other thing is that Pac's mum got the royalty rate bumped up to 20%, from 18%.
I remember RBX telling a similar story about how he was signed to Disney but for public relations they put his album out under a dummy label called Premeditated Records

This has been by far the most informative video I’ve ever seen concerning Tupac’s label situation
This dude is spittin'! He's 100% accurate on everything he's saying!
@@DSimmons-yl9od at that time, YES, Warner owned Interscope, which was Time Warner. When Cop Killer happened inn92/93, they sold Jimmy back his company and he went to Universal. Pack was signed to Interscope when they were distributed by Atlantic, up until 1993 when he dropped Strictly for My...When he dropped Me Against, it was Interscope/Atlantic. By 1996, Interscope was with Universal. Facts, I know PERSONALLY.
EVERYTHING HE SAYS ADDS UP!!! Props to Delray Richardson. If i ever smoke with him, he can hold the blunt and tell 2pac stories the whole time. Matter fact, we gotta have several rolled so we each have several of our own. THIS MAN IS THE TRUTH. #SALUTE
“Is it a crime , to fight for what is mine ?”
I love how art of dialogue acts unimpressed everytime one of his guests reveals something crazy 😂
I'm laughing 😂
Death Row Records was already under the Interscope umbrella so it means nothing for Jimmy Iovine to ADD Death Row Records to 2Pac's projects as an imprint.
If them dudes at
Interscope would've bailed out Tupac he wouldn't have needed to sign with Suge Knight
they did bail him out.. they jus didn't want the board members to know.. suge was the cover for them to bail him out
according to this dude he didn't sign with Suge
@@DaMixWizard the board members wouldn't want them to bail him out because they were already getting flack from women.. so they gave suge the ok a year later.. so technically they did bail him out and he never signed a record deal with deathrow, jus as manager... can yall comprehend that.. its not that hard to understand 🤦🏿♂️
@@mikesowers7322 it's just like when game went over to G-Unit to put a album out.
@@justinperry2352 good example
He’s smart! No disrespect; but he sounds like Denzal Washington from the malcome X movie 🎥 this guy is very intelligent 🧘♂️
Correct
Please protect this king at all costs! Speaks nothing but the truth
Um Jesus is the only KING
Delray should’ve been a lawyer. He could literally break down & simplify the ABCs. 😂
Penny!!! i was just thinking about u the other day and bam here u are lol. i hope you are well. Stay blessed!
They did him so dirty... and he was SO LOYAL AND TALENTED!!!!
A LYRICIST. Has a mastery of words, logical YET artistic, and good with numbers.
Protect this man at all costs
Tupac just wanted out of jail. He probably didn't care how he got out. He just was like ima give these people these albums and bounce
"But life making records ain't easy
It ain't what I expected, it's hectic, it's sleazy"
Classic song
Who is this articulate, intelligent man. Mr. Richardson, we can listen to you all day. Please produce your own content.
It was a production deal. Notice how suge had control of the masters afterwards
THANK YOU. Been trying tell all of this people this for years upon years. Death Row only had production power. Not marketing, not distribution.. with the production agreement, Suge got to keep the masters. That’s it.
This is info way too over people's heads. Technical talk won't be listened too due to the folklore. Tupac died broke. In the end everyone but the talent got paid. Great breakdown.
Art Of Dialogue has gotta give the best documentary interviews that's the based on truth about 2pacs life. This dude kicked facts with evidence. Thumbs Up Fo Sho
So, in other words tupac was trying to break-free from interscope?
The average person wouldn't have known this.
Best channel on UA-cam
I believe him. He comes off as honest and he’s very intelligent and straight to the point.
Side note: I got those same glasses, with my name engraved on the side.
I like when he said " let it be known" .. I immediately heard the song "troublesome" in my head
@@melvinhhcp3615 might be why nothing ever came of it... they just got the wool pulled over their eyes. And strangely Pac dies a few days later....
The whole deal with Delores Tucker and for optics etc... however as far as Pac was concerned maybe they thought he wouldn’t be down for a stunt like that or perhaps he may have even been in on it himself to keep up that perception...hard to say.
This brother knows what he’s talking about
A dirty ass game with this record industry, I tell ya.....
look at young jock when he whas sign to bad boy records.jock went broke because he wasn't get all his money.then jock sued bad boy.
That's half of the dirt, the other half is the shit they want you to do to keep your fame smh. Straight wickedness
@@cooljohn1977 I just pulled it up on Google. He actually has two lawsuits. One is with Master Mind Music inc. and the other one is with Bad Boy, smh!!!!
These the type of interviews that vlad really be wanting
The rap game is just like the dope game. Once you join the game, it's either jail or bloodshed that comes with it.
Worse than that
Great interview fam
🤯 🤯🤯 wow!! This is shocking...Delray broke it all down
Very smart man here! , and I would watch his channel! He knows his stuff and he is very well spoken! Gift of gab!
This guy is like tupac’s version of big gene
Been subscribed to this channel since 2016. Y’all came a long way. I never thought this channel would reach this level. This is one of the biggest channels now.
I’d rather listen to this channel than VLAD TV
This man is so honest! And he is HIGHLY INTELLIGENT
To this magnificent brother. I say “Spit yo game, talk yo s..t”! Very well presented good sir! Brilliant! Cheers mates!!
The other thing is that Pac's mum got the royalty rate bumped up to 20%, from 18%.
welcome to the entertainment biz...
when you really read through the lines word by word...everything is clear!!!!
found out about this channel from vladtv.. been binge watching your videos since 9am this morning lol
I remember RBX telling a similar story about how he was signed to Disney but for public relations they put his album out under a dummy label called Premeditated Records
This guy is a hell of a lawyer , All kids should be listening to this .
finally someone telling the truth I've been telling people for years that Pac was broke while he was alive.
I loved this guy's interview. By far the best and realest interviewee in relation to Pac. Great work
Art, how do you edit your videos with pictures showing while the dude still talking? can you teach me how for my videos? I'll pay you
You can do it with several programs, on good editor is kinemaster... you let your video play and click extract audio to put the audio on a separate track and allow you cut the video in and out
Shed some great lights on this interview. This guy has shed some light on what was a very convoluted contract that Pac was on. The best interview on this channel hands down.
This is serious. Imagine being loyal to someone that throught bailed you out of jail an you thought you was signed to lable that you were never signed too. 2pac died thinking he was signed to death row an he was loyal thinking suge bailed him out.Smh for that 2pac is that man for real he died loyal N real man.. now that 2pac song hit him up seem weird now. 2pac road with death row an dis the whole new york. 2pac didn't understand that the people he was loyal too was shitting on him the most. I really wished 2pac Just sat with biggie them an talk frfr they both would of been alive today. I think that it was a misunderstanding that took place. Things wasn't explained properly. I always felt when I listen hit him up that 2pac didn't understand what was going on. In the song he said west side till I die but they were never loyal to him. The whole east coast west cost was a mess it shouldn't had happened. Smh smh smh. Don't put your loyal in people but your loyalty in God. People with shit on you mad quick. Rip 2pac frfr
Well said!
Thanks bro for interviewing this man. He speaks the truth looking in his eyes
One thing I'd note is how people close to the Tupac death always die premature:
Yaki Fula (shot a month later)
Frank Alexander (bodyguard suicided 2013)
Johnny J (friend/producer suicided 2008)
Michael Moore (bodyguard painkiller overdose? 2013) - guy that refused to give up his gun in Vegas and was taken off guard duty for Pac by Reggie Wright Jr - also overheard "got 'em" on the radio (good luck finding info online for this guy)
Kevin Gaines (Snoop bodyguard and bf to Suge ex-wife murdered by fellow LAPD cop 1997) - allegedly one of the last to visit Pac's room with Snoop before he took turn for the worst
Orlando Anderson ("Patsy" murdered 1998)
Russell Poole (retired LAPD Detective dead of "heart attack" during meeting at LAPD HQ to reveal his findings on Tupac/Biggie murders 2015)
Afeni Shakur (Tupac mother dead of "heart attack" 2016)
There are plenty of others not mentioned here that were on the periphery of the picture including MOB Piru members being murdered particularly after Biggie Smalls was killed.
New 2 me ...did he not have a 3 album deal .....when he was bailed .did he not sign
What and where can I see more info on this ...
@BxxDxx Hoodoo He Made Dozens of Albums between 95-96 ....
All Eyes On ME is and was a double album, the 1st at that ever
@@2toottoot No. The first RAP double album. Not the first double album.
@@frontandcenter7941 yeah and Biggies life after death was suppose to be just one album to be released in September 96 but than postponed till march and they added more songs to make it Raps second double CD! Y'all gotta understand Suge went and got Tupac's money for him that Interscope was withholding and bailed him out....
I been saying this
Facts,me against the world was the number one album so interscope owed pac
Like Suge said “If you solve one you’ll solve the other “ 💯💯💯
Facts babygirl
So suge didn't bail pac out.
Delray talks major FACTS💯.. Only one that actually make sense..Alot of respect for this guy✊🏽..DMV stand up..Hanover, MD👊🏽
The did the same thing with pac that they did with the game he already had a contract with interscope so they just put the death row stamp on him just like they put the g-unit stamp on game
One of best interviews I have seen. Well spoken and intelligent. And of course all #Facts ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿🎓🎓🎓
I can admit dude knows what he’s talking about. I’ve been doing research for years on Tupac and Deathrow records and everything that he said is true. The only question that I have is: If Tupac wasn’t signed to Deathrow Records, then why on the back of his albums that he recorded for Deathrow it says Deathrow records?? If your not signed to a specific label, there is no way a label can put their stamp on your album right????
Well, its pretty easy that way... there we're Always an Interscope or Atlantic Icon next to Death Row. So the Death Row Icon is just what Suge forced to Pop Off on the Releases
Mind blowing interview not just about the deal but the legality and business side of things
They had pac in a fuck up situation this world crazy
This channel has been on a roll of content that I appreciate in the matter of TUPAC'S LIFE..
DEFINITELY NOT A DAY OFF TAKEN
Warner Bros is the reason Pac dealt with Deathrow. Damn.
And Tom Walley is in charge of Pac estate SMH!
@Shenyae T Look how Warner Bros did Prince back then
@@Shreksta facts

Delray and Napoleon are the most honest people who knew 2Pac. They still holding him down by making sure all the BS is clarified with real facts. Keep them coming on.
The truth shall set you free this guy is keeping it truthful. An real
Man, I thought DB's interview were the best until I came across this dude. Talk about the Art of Intelligence. He has it all.
I bet Suge never told Pac who really was behind him getting bailed out.
I blame Jimmy Iovine and Tom Whalley for Pac's demise more than I blame Ayanna Jackson or anybody else.
