These are two entirely different songs. The the beats in back are close, but between logic and gambino, they could not be more different. I think you like it more because logic could do more, he could use instrumentals and sample songs like he can't do under a label (he has to make most of his stuff now). Like this Adele sample is lovely but he wouldn't be able to do that now. I do think his rap skills are better now tho

There's interviews back in the day of him saying he was grinding so hard back in the day making this mixtape that he went nights with little to no sleep and was just in constant work mode. He's now married, successful, more money than he'll ever need, under "no pressure", and has a son. pretty sure he's happier now than back then

I think you like it more because logic could do more, he could use instrumentals and sample songs like he can't do under a label (he has to make most of his stuff now). Like this Adele sample is lovely but he wouldn't be able to do that now. I do think his rap skills are better now tho
