Clooney House, Co Clare

Reputedly a house that originated in the C17, it was rebuilt in the C19 after a fire, and like so many, became ruinous in the 1920s. A rectangular five-bay structure of two storeys over basement, it was formerly the home of the Bindon family. Its most distinctive feature is the Italianate portico.

A lovely house and I'm intending visiting as soon as possible from Australia. This was my family's home and a significant part of our Irish history. Any more information on it's history and current ownership would be great to know.
