This was a great vlog. My dermatologist does not have anywhere near the depth of product knowledge as Dr Dray; sometimes he throws me a few samples of CeraVe and leaves the room after my Retin A script is written. Wish there were more doctors available with this level of passion in their specialty 😍
This is totally random but I just need to share my experience with a very unprofessional derm: I once had small pimples on my lips all of a sudden that were itchy (not cold sore) and it felt like an infection. I went to an appointment, told her straight up that I believed it was some kind of infection. She ignored me and insisted to do a patch test for allergens. I have done allergen test before and I was only allergic to three things, which I told her too. Did the test anyways, turns out I'm allergic to nothing, had me running back and forth for 4 times, none of the medicine was working (because it was in infection!) She finally decided to do a culture and turns out it was a bacterial infection...... She also said things like, "maybe it's because you are getting older and your lips become dryer" I AM 24 FOR GOD SAKE! I am so done with this attitude that patients' opinions are shit. We know our body! Wasted $80 copay for some antibiotics that should be given on the first visit.
My dermatologist just threw Accutane on my face and didn't even talk about sunscreen.Dr Dray is a dream😢😢
@@Saras-ox9ig my derm told me to stop using a sunscreen because i recently had acne and he told me i that i have to dry out my face, to stop pimples from coming. Only cleansing, no moisturizer, no sunscreen. Thank you but no thank you.

@@LoveABun she loves kerasal for improving nail appearance and for removing calluses. I do not think she ever said "fungus ". From my personal experience I would say that what looks like a fungus may not be a fungus unless it is diagnosed by an MD. I had dull, yellowish coloring that was not fungus but result of nail polish use. Once I started kerasal, toenails got very clear and shiny over time. Good luck!

I think I now have every Cerave product in my house. I am so grateful that you guided me to these products. I have had terrible cuticle problems for decades. I have been a serious hand-washer for a long time. I have conquered this problem with Cerave’s SA lotion. I massage this into my cuticles twice a week or so and I have the happiest cuticles ever.

I used the CeraVe itch relief cream on my face during the first 1-2 months I was on accutane because the dryness caused inflammation and itching at first. It worked well and wasn't irritating. It was a life saver during the initial skin adjustment to accutane for me, and since the active ingredient isn't a steroid there aren't the same risks with prolonged use.

I enjoy the Cerave Healing Ointment and using this product the last 2 months to heal the skin on my fingertips. I developed chapped skin from using hair removal cream in my bikini area for the first time during lockdown. Wearing latex gloves now when I do the procedure. Dying for my beauty salon to reopen so I can get waxed again!

I love Kevin murphy hair care. You don't need very much and lasts ages. Sometimes I use my shampoo and conditioner bar I bought off etsy for a change. I use cerave moisturising cream in winter on my face a few times a day if I need to.

Eye gel masks are honestly my hangover cure. I don't drink a lot anymore, but when I was in college... I went to a party school. It's so nice to take a shower and then if you have a headache, the cooling sensation is just really relaxing.
Dr Dray that's just a whole lot of empties. I struggle to finish off body lotion. But there's such a sense of completion & satisfaction when I squeeze every drop out.

Haha, most of it is vitamin C and retinol. Both she doesn't like. She has a video on vitamin C and then prefers prescription tretinoin. Susan Yara was also very shady so I no longer like her.

I was just introduced to your channel by my oldest sister. I have only watched a few videos but I thought you mentioned in one you do NOT use a towel to dry off. Is that right? If so, how do you dry off? Also did I hear you correct in that you pat products in not scrub them in?
Great video! Sidenote about my personal experience about using niacinamide serums - while I found the ordinary's 10% niacinamide irritating on my skin, I did not have a problem with the inkey list's niacinamide serum which is also 10%. I overall, I have had better experiences with inkey list's products over TO's. Except in the case of retinol where I find TO's retinol 0.2% in squalane super gentle (albeit too messy and has stained my shirts, towels and other fabrics yellow unfortunately), I found the inkey list's retinol serum stung which is odd since it is has a lower concentration of retinol at 0.05%
Hi Dr. Dray. I have been watching your videos for a while now and my skin (and wallet!) have never felt/looked better. I appreciate your informative videos and I have a question about one of your tips. In this video you mention using petroleum ointment to the nostril skin to prevent dryness. I too, suffer from extremely dry nostrils causing the skin to crack and subsequently bleed, form a wound, and the vicious cycle repeats itself. It has been especially aggravating now that I am required to wear a mask for most of my 12 hour hospital shifts! Desperate for relief, I too began using petroleum jelly inside my nose in attempt to relieve this issue. After some research, I found articles describing this method posing a risk of lipoid pneumonia, which can be very dangerous and difficult to treat. I have since switched over to using a saline based nasal spray, like Salinex for example, but it is not as effective. So long story short, is it really safe to be using petroleum type ointments in the nostrils? If so, how often and if not, do you have any alternatives that may work better than these nasal sprays? I really appreciate your help with this!

YAS QUEEN!!! Dray, can you review the Alastin Hydratint tinted sunscreen? Allure said it was one of the go to products of a famous dermatologist. It sounds good but it’s $55 and they say to “find it at a healthcare provider near you”.
Great video. You mentioned you were using the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser as a deodorant. Does this mean you do not recommend it for your face if you are prone to breakouts? If so, what is your recommendation for a daily cleanser? Thank you.

I just started watching your videos a few weeks ago. I love all the recommendations but there are so many and kind of overwhelming on what I should buy. I am on a budget but I am 36 years old and I have some rosacea on my cheeks, a little bit of wrinkles on my forehead and 2 between my eyebrows and fine lines under my eyes and I have dry skin. QUESTION - I started differin gel 2 weeks ago and followed your advice and cut out all products other than a gentle cleanser and good moisturizer. My question is, since I’ve been doing well for the last 2 weeks on differin.... is it okay to use my Fresh Seaberry oil serum as a last step after the differin?? I know it’s more of a “barrier” product and I use the oil only at night. Or, should I wait longer to make sure my skin is OK with the differin still? I don’t want to make a big mistake LOL

Not Dr Dray but a regular watcher, and I remember her answer to both of these questions from past videos:
1. It's an ideal moisturizer for after a sunburn, as it is very gentle and fragrance free.
2. No. The skin barrier is impaired in a sunburn, and putting petroleum jelly over it helps seal out pathogens.

Dr.Dray---could you possibly cover a topic I recently became aware called 'Hygra'' Fatigue'? Apparently it's the idea that your hair becomes weaker, and overloaded with moisture if you wet/wash&condition every day. My hair is extremely fine, and I am constantly in a battle of to wash or not to wash. Is it true that washing hair less often has positive effects? Would love to hear your thoughts on hygral fatigue.
