See this is the problem…y’all are not being honest which creates these expectations that the girl can’t meet. Which is why she is so timid and scared to do anything.
@@whithouston6000 no the problem has to do with, Management, record label, and colorism. Normani‘s vocals are not on the level of say Beyoncé but I definitely would not compare her to Jennifer Lopez. That’s a stretch
while I appreciate the genuinely critical feedback especially as someone who used to be a fan but has just got tired of her antics (or lack thereof) I kind of.. disagree with most of this. To say she is on par with jlo is majorly harsh. I've never thought normani was the strongest vocalist and her lipsyncing is common and obvious, but she can hold enough of a tune for fun pop songs, which is why I liked the direction she was going with motivation, and disappointed when she swerved to "vibey" rnb, which is the only kind she can do because her voice has no power or emotion. pop is a good lane for her, and i dont see why selena gomez can have a successful career but normani cant. on the rebranding, I do agree she is frustratingly quiet on sm and seems to only have defensive things to say to fans, but aren't we tired of everyone needing a "strong sexy empowered woman" image? I think its ok if she's timid, she doesnt seam necessarily weak to me, Rihanna she is not, and it could come off as disingenuous if she tries too hard (see: Chloe bailey). women are so pigeonholed into this and I'm tired, there are other ways to be a confident, inspiring woman. It would be smart for her to aim for the older teen demo, ia. thats where the money is and is rare to see a black female musician cater to that audience (used to be very common!). anyway, thats my 2 cents, but kinda don't care what she does atp lmao. she's not really an artist to me anymore
People always hating on Normani, without actually listening to her vocally.. Normani has good vocals( Even tho it’s not a powerhouse)
Normani herself on X factor said she was insecure about her voice
Wow that was incredible
Normani and Jlo? Are you fn kidding me! Normani is wayyy more talented vocally than Jlo. Can't believe you said that.
