Very impressed. You make the snowy course look so easy. Anyone who's given it a whirl in the arcade knows how tough it is. Excellent game for the time. The physics of this game hold up to this day. Incredibly ahead of its time.
OMG SO THOSE TIMES OF 4:02 WEREN'T A JOKE, as a kid I always thought that. I have the PC version of the Game for PC, I think I'll try to beat those abusive times. Thank you for proving it possible

No, there are times much faster than this! My time is considered quite slow.

Thanks for doing some capture of a real machine. Looks like there's definitely some issues with the emulator. It's really noticeable how much more convincing the camera flash effect is.
I find this game easier than SR1. I still can't beat that last bonus track in SR1...

Seeing this, I really want to play it! I probably suck at it right now, but still I love this game. Though I also loved Scud Race (plus) , Daytona 1+2 and Le Mans 24!

I only have single player SR2 though, I don't have room for a 2 player SR2 yet.
Still, it will take some time to get the funds to sort out the garage.

Nice time. Last week I still found an arcade machine 200km from my house. Did one run. A sloppy 4:17. Wich is about 12 seconds above my record. I wish I could play this game alot more like I used to.

Yes, some of the fastest Japanese guys use 3rd person view.
There are pros and cons to either views, but at the end of the day it all comes down to practice and perseverance.

What input device are you using? I have a Logitech F310 joypad and it's very difficult controlling the car to me. Can you recommend me a different input device or settings I can play with? What are you using?
He's using the real arcade machine. It would be very hard to control the car in arcade games that are designed to be played with a wheel. A complete set of a wheel, manual transmission and analog pedals would be the best way to play it. You will not be able to progress far without the analog pedals as the game requires you to depress the gas pedal, let go of it, use braking and use a handbrake, while also downshifting at certain turns.
Oh and as an extra, the long K left, before the hairpin on Snowy, you need to get a higher speed I think, of like 198 kmh minimum!! So less of the accelerator! And I see you turn to 3rd in the snowy hairpin, just like that for the Riviera hairpins, and your time on Riviera will improve fast!

I played for a long time before a sub 4 minute time came out.

@@gianlucapezzella5105 Hi, unfortunately there are no real tricks to get a fast time. On the hairpins on Snowy + Riviera hairpins you can do what is called a 'wall turn', apply brake+handbrake before hitting the wall then release brake and then release handbrake once it's safe to apply accel.

I'm unable to play Model 3 drivers at the moment as I have Initial D8 setup on the cab but I may have another go at a later date.

It was such a mental block, almost a 20 year mental block! lol
Getting under 3'59 will be difficult for sure.....I'm not sure if I'll be able to go under 3'59 but I'll give it a go once I've got the cab back up and running. SRC2 is a game I keep coming back to time and time again.

Hey IC, im fine and you? I saw your arcade vids this week an accident and I directly knew it was you.
Well I never used 4th gear on Riviera and still got the best overseas Riviera time (i think) or 1.04.21. Dunno but anyway, 3rd gear is easier to get good times in, cause I tried 4th gear as well and I played a lot, but never got the 4th gear method right. I think you brake, put to 3rd, then directly add handbrake, at least you put it in 3rd gear before you hit the wallturn!4th gear is faster, but as a reminder: only the Japanese pro's could handle that correctly (DKI, NJA etc) You have to practise it, but I still recommend 3rd gear, because its much easier to get good times with that. when you hit 3.58 potential, you really should have 33.5x below on your first lap and 30.9x on 2nd! and then constantly. At least I can still see you hit the wall just a fraction too late in both hairpins. Especially in the 2nd hairpin, hit it a bit more to the right!! when you doing it correctly you will pass the Lancer, in the 1st lap, before the last right corner on the outside!!

Can you believe it's been about 16 years since PSO?! Now I'm a middle aged man with a job paying a mortgage that has his favourite arcade games to play, so I guess life is good at the moment bro. I'm always very thankful for my current situation, it could be much worse.
It's very difficult to be consistent on Riviera, sometimes the pressure is too much I collapse and ruin the run. lol
Once I start playing the game again, I'll try 3rd gear wallturns. I always used 4th gear so it will be difficult to relearn. I'll try though.

Good to hear IC, I have Dave on facebook but I don't see Anecdote anymore. In fact, haven't seen him for over 10 years :) My fastest Riviera was 1.04.21 (33.49 and 30.72). Practise practise lol
