Cthulu, Kraken, and the Garg Leviathan all hanging out in the void making the adult ghost Leviathans look like minnows... sounds like pure hell and I want it.

I think the mod creator will have Cthulhu rise out of the waves as an ending cutscene while you leave, like maybe the precursors lock away Cthulhu and while shutting down the cannon it also releases Cthulhu.

What if Cthulhu made the precursors or is something like their god of death, and in the dead zone they could add that if you get to a certain location you just see one of its eyes open right next to you

I love how the creator of subnautica just used to worm model from Day of dragons
I feel when they're that big they lose their scare factor. Like the gargantuan is so absurdly big that he clips through often breaking your immersion. In the base game enemies are big, but don't feel that large due to perspective making them feel more grounded.
I agree. Garg is so cool, but the fact that it's solid body detection doesn't really work makes it more ridiculous and hard to look at than scary. Maybe once someone can make it not clip through things it would be better.

yeah for me reapers were terrifying because sometimes they don't make any noise until it's behind you
Yeah like I think gargantuan leviathans would be scary as hell, since you can’t see all of them at once because they’re bloody huge, you’ll feel insignificant next to it. It’s like if you walked through a dark cave with a torch, and then you see an eye the size of you stare at you from the dark, like that. But it loses the immersion when they clip through things and are janky. And if you don’t believe it can be real anymore because you’re not immersed anymore, it won’t be as scary. It’s like the Reaper clipping through the floor, it loses the immersion and breaks me out of my fear for it.
I just noticed that the voice says “Estimated depth: 999999-“ then breaks and shuts off whenever you get near the giant tentacles. A lot of attention to detail 😁

Yes!!! This is what I was wanting!! One of the things that I find a bit annoying is showing stuff but not going further into it. I enjoy the initial wonder and mystery, but I want to see everything.

the garg jumping out of the ocean is freaknig amazing, that intro gave me chills with that music like god damn, i assume the idea is to have it jump through the ship as it explodes or something? to like make it so the garg destroys the sunbeam, but the jump on its own is super cool

One of my favorite things about this is when the tentacles grab the ship, the voice says "9999" depth, and sounds like it was going to keep saying 9 for a second, just implying the absolute SIZE of that lad, which lets you imagine how massive it really is.

Yes and yes. Scan and gank it. And once that gets boring, use the expanded console commands to forcibly stuff it in an aquarium. (can work remarkably well with baby emperors and ghost leviathans)

The ONLY thing that disappoints me about these spoilers, is that its not Cthulu that's pulling you in from the void, but on that same vein, I'm completely OK with that. Cause honestly, he probably wouldn't be a threat directly until you found him IN the void. HERE'S THE CRAZY THING THOUGH! It doesn't actually even NEED to BE Cthulu, It can operate fundamentally the same, but could be an entirely new eldritch abomination, inspired by the various terrifying creatures of Subnautica.
For example, imagine a creature that's see through like the Ghost Leviathan, but has the Dragon levithan's face, with the Reaper's grabbing things in a star pattern around the mouth. The lower body could be like the warpers, and the core of its body could be like a serpent -esque, but bulkier at sections where extremities begin to come out like arms and tentacles. Hell, you could even make it green hued like the Karar to imply its the true source of the disease.
That'd be neat as hell.
I think it is Cthulhu but the creator of the mod recycled the Kraken model
The Karaa isn't from 4546B tho. The Precursors brought it there to use as a safe zone to search for a vaccine.

Cthulu was the big tentacles grabbing the ship, may also be the other tentacles in the void, but the kraken is the smaller red tentacles
The mods for this game are FINALLY picking up! The innovation here is crazy!

That just looks like an earth mollusk. Know if they really wanted to get creative with it and make it look alien. They could’ve duplicated that shell and then flipped it in the opposite direction combine them together, both facing opposite directions, and then that could be the main shell of the creature that would look pretty cool.

Fun fact that Kraken is actually from the mod in ARK, I think the name is Pugnacia? Great mod btw, but it's very scary seeing this guy in Subnautica as well as seeing him move backwards...lol. I already get anxiety from the depths of the ocean, now with this fast-moving Kraken..it makes worse lol.

the way you meat cthulu is you need an ancient tablet or something or like a dark treasure and you do a ritual in a new alien base which activates a portal leading out of the void at 10000 meters deep, thats what i would do... but i cant code
I knew I’ve seen that Kraken model somewhere. It’s used in an Ark Survival Evolved mod called Pugnacia. Used for a kraken boss.

Ok I know this isn’t what happened but all I can think is Cthulhu winding up and yeeting the poor garg at you
you could practically make an entire new Subnautica game out of the void and the horrid monsters that inhabit it. Just my opinion, but idk if the monster's voice at 2:16 is necessary, it could be scarier and creepier if it was a completely different sound

The "Kraken" model is lifted from an ARK mod. I have seen the Gaming Beaver cover the mod that adds that shelled monster and this one is the same exact model.

Ok but has anyone noticed that the Kraken looks like, or at least resembles, a real life sea animal called a Nautilus. At least, that's what I think it looks like.

maybe those tentacles on the aurora aren't tentacles but fingers, that would be even more terrifying IMO
The Cthulhu in the shell is stuck its literally just a kraken stuck in a big ass shell and cant escape and people gave it a nickname called Cthulhu
