김죽파류 가야금산조는 죽파 김난초명인이
조부 김창조 명인과 그의 제자인 한성기 명인으로부터 배운 가락에
자신만의 독자적인 가락을 추가하여 완성한 대곡이다.
구성이 뛰어나고 긴장과 이완이 끊임없이 넘나들며,
고도의 연주능력과 절제를 필요로 하는 산조음악의 진수라 평가된다.
The Kim Jukpa-ryu Gayageum Sanjo is a historical composition
by Gayageum master Kim Nancho,
also known as Kim Jukpa. She combined her own unique melodies
with the original songs she learned from her grandfather,
master Kim Changjo, and his disciple, the master Han Seonggi.
This composition has earned great respect for its quality,
featuring a constant interplay of tension and release.
It requires a high level of performance skill and restraint to execute.
The piece is considered the quintessential example of sanjo music,
a solo instrumental genre in Korean traditional music that emphasizes
an improvisational energy.
