Titanic sunk like century ago before this movie was even shoot. so that is obvious on how something like a movie could cost more than a luxury ship like Titanic. but imagine if you're building a luxury ship right now, the movie cost wouldn't look that much.

Macy Bulaong A lot of it is real props and not special effects.. but yeah a lot of the ocean, the explosions, and the sinking were cgi. But yes this was released in '97, but you have to remember that there were still decent cgi technology back then. It wasn't that long ago

when i was little my parents told me how titanic sank, and i didnt quite understand. so i thought some people were playing soccer with ice in the front of the boat and someone kicked the ice too hard and it made a hole in the titanic... Wow i was so stupid. i belived that for 1 years. (i was 6 years old when my parents told me. even tho i saw the movie a bunch of times i still thought i was because people were playing soccer with ice. XDXD)
I used to think that titanic was a Japanese festival where they had tea party’s with really expensive cutlery etc next to a ship; at least i got one part tight lol

This was the first film i saw in a movie theatre. I got chills. I still have difficulty with sinking scenes. I love swimming and being in water, but at the same time i fully understand that this is a very strong force of nature and it can show its power right when you think humankind has mastered all technology and is above nature. I think this film is more than relevant today as a reminder that we need to take better care of the environment.
TITANIC is the movie that if you watch it over and over, you still enjoy it like if it is the first time. It is a timeless masterpiece carefully crafted.
