I have had the opportunity as a truck driver to deliver in the town of Truckee a few times over the last 40+ years and it’s always seemed busy! My only other comment is Truckee can be the coldest place in the USA in the winter!! For 5 years back in the 80s I had the weekly Reno run on Thursdays... and one time it was so cold that heat no longer came out of the heater in the truck because the engine inside temperature dropped below 100 degrees.. 5 miles up the hill towards Reno I started feeling heat again... things like that you never forget! 2thumbs up!👍👍
JEFF & SARAH TOO - LOVED THE STORY, I'M GETTING A LITTLE TOO OLD TO TRAVEL MUCH AND YOUR VISITS TO SO MANY INTERESTING PLACES IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS BEING THERE IN PERSON. MY MOTHER'S DAD HAD A HANDLE BAR MUSTACHE AND SHE SAID THAT AS A LITTLE GIRL SHE HATED TO KISS HIM WITH THAT BRUSH ON HIS LIP. THIS WAS AROUND 1925.
My dad was born in Boca up the road a bit from Truckee in a railroad box car with his two brothers. My grandfather worked on the railroad and my grandmother fed the crew from the box car. When needed, the crew would attach the box car to a train and transport it to Roseville or Reno as needed. You can still see that boxcar on E. River Street at the locksmith address. If you notice, there are 24 windows on the side of the house on each side. When my dad was born, they joined two passenger box cars together and took out the joining exterior walls to make a larger box car house.
I've been to Truckee many many times and knew it's historical significance but never all the details and stories that you discovered. Thanks for keeping history alive!
For months now, since discovering History Hunters (which I love), I've hoped you would feature Truckee. Last night, I thought about it even more and here it is! I was born - and lived the first few years of my life - there. I grew up in Lake Tahoe and lived there well into adulthood. I've so many fond memories between them both. My first home was the apartment off the back of the old Sierra Tavern building which is visible in your video. I've since written a novel which is set in Truckee during the latter part of the 19th-century. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you making this video and the other Truckee ones still to be posted. I'm currently living overseas and have not visited home in 5 years. Just hearing the rush of the Truckee River - it's song - brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Jeff & Sarah! I am eagerly awaiting the Sierra Mountains Cemetery video - wondering if you will include the Catholic Cemetery just below it as well. Will comment on that next video too. A dear family friend is buried in the former one; he had a connection to it during his lifetime having been its ever-doting caretaker for a number of years.
Wow, we are honored to know this video had such a great effect on you. We didn't spend a lot of time in the Sierra Mountain Cemetery but tried to visit some of the interesting graves. We were unable to get to any other cemeteries because we next visited the Donner State Memorial Park and camp sites. From there we visited Genoa, Nevada so that's coming up, too! Thanks very much for watching and enjoying what we produce!
Great video of this historic town. I am going to be there for a couple of days soon. Can't wait to explore the places in the video and take some black & white photos on film. Thank you both.
I never seem to think of my family as famous or very well known in the old west but they were in Klamath Falls, Oregon. My great grandfather Rufus Scudder Moore and his brother William S. Moore ran one of the largest Lumber Mills in the state. Klamath Falls History knows them with the Moore Park which has many recreational activities run by the city. Statues of Rufus and other historical sites are there. A running trail for you Jeff is used every year for competition. No one in the Moore family is left but me so all the property was given to the city by my great grandmother years ago. She came west as a baby on the Oregon trail. A lot of history to be researched by someone like you.
Having spent summers at the 1860's stage coach stop at Webber Lake, 26 miles north of Truckee, we would come into town once a week for groceries and an ice cream sundae at the soda fountain which I found still operating in 2015. As a kid my Mom would have us take the ferry from San Mateo to Oakland and then the train from Oakland to Truckee and then my Dad would pick us up and we'd drive to Webber. My parents honeymooned at Webber in 1946 and I spent my first summer there at barely a year old in 1949. For me it is sad to see Truckee so busy and such a tourist trap. Other points of interest: the hieroglyphs up near the old Donner bridge, the Great Wall of China built by the Chinese railroad workers, and you can even find parts of the old Lincoln Highway. So much history in only a few miles. Love your UA-cam videos of the area as it brings back many memories.

It's so awesome to see you go to a town that I've been going to ever since I was a kid. I live two hours away and go there at least once a year. My husband's family has a cabin a few miles from the historic downtown. We stayed for a week during Thanksgiving last year and there was lots of snow. We were snowed in for three days. We like to spend every Thanksgiving there if the cabin is available. I didn't know alot of the details on the history in the downtown area, very interesting. I love going pass Donnor Lake, up the summit and exploring the train tunnels, China Wall, and Petroglyphs. The Rainbow Bridge is neat too, beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. There's so much history in that one area. The museum has lots of artifacts from the Donnor party, I don't know if it's open yet though. Hopefully you had a couple days to visit and will come back. And I agree with Sarah, I couldn't live there with the snow in the winter lol. After a week my kids and I had enough of it and were ready to go back to the valley.
I was born in and lived in Minnesota until 7 years old. I've been back in the winter time and I cannot handle the cold. Have definitely transformed into a Cali girl. Thanks for watching!
I would like to see Sarah compile a collection of her flower photos to create a calendar. All kinds. From your historical travels. From formal gardens to wild flowers blooming in the crags of rocks.
One of my favorite stops every year while visiting the Sierras. Especially in early spring or fall when the crowds slow down. Love the Wagon Train Diner/coffee shop. Great mountain bike trails all around. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing another informative video with us Jeff and Sarah. I've been through Truckee several times but, stopped for a short visit only once. I and three other men were on our way home from Deer hunting up in Modoc County and decided to take the long way home. This was at evening time in October of 1983 I believe. There was snow on the ground and it was cold. I don't know how this episode slipped past me when you uploaded it. Some how I missed the notification but I'm so glad I saw your episode on the Cemetery in Truckee and went back to find this episode. Thanks again. Stan

Really enjoy your videos. It would be nice to see the inside of some of these structures if possible, the old hotels, restaurants, bars, general stores etc.
The story of reed and teeten was very interesting. Lawmen in those days were tough as nails. Teddy Roosevelt would never have put up with a disrespectful press. Remember he always carried a big stick. Always enjoy your commentary. Thank you for another fine video.
Jeff and Sarah I just saw this today. Like you I have been by Truckee many times but never stopped. Great job on the tour and interesting facts as usual. Thank you.
I enjoyed this visit. I've never taken the time to drive the pass from Tahoe when visiting family, but I had neighbors in Albuquerque who both worked for Delta Airlines, & re-located to Truckee. ---PS, I appreciate when you take the time to read the entire plaques aloud!
Thanks for the tour of Truckee. I always thought I knew a lot about Truckee. My dad and I often passed through Truckee on our way to going hunting in Plumas County to the north. We always got gas at the Flying A Station. Depending on our plans, we often had an early breakfast in Truckee, so when we got to Plumas County we were all set to begin hunting. Your video proves I knew very little about Truckee no matter how many times I'd been through the town. Again many thanks. I was in the area in the 70s, doing research on the Donner party. There was a Donner Party monument that got lost during the building of the I-80 freeway through the area. I was so diligent in my searching I found the missing monument.
Truckee the little town on the way to Tahoe I’ve heard. Awesome to know some of the history. Love how you capture such clear images of the old pictures. Teddy was a President who earned respect and protected the environment, so there’s that.
Great Job! a lot of history in town I didn't know. How time goes by. I have video of my dad , mom, and sister at Donner Lake in the 1960's. My Dad loved Donner lake and we knew people who lived there year round. What Memories of Water Skiing on the lake back in the 60's and 70's. My Dad was retired S.F.P.D. police inspector, and he built a cabin mile from Donner Memorial. Lost my Dad in 2012, and my mom. All the older people back then all gone. Sad for me looking back. I remember when it was snowing and the lake and area snow everywhere, and I swam across the lake when I was 15 years old. They said it couldn't be done. I did on a bet. Swam across the lake, and was blue, shaking, took warm shower and they gave me shots of Whiskey at the bar. Seemed like things were forever, and you turn around and all is Gone. Thanks, enjoyed that.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful family memories. I feel your pain as my family has slowly slipped into the unknown realm. I had a good childhood where we did a lot of fun things too, just in a different part of California! I appreciate your sentimental look back. Take care, Jack!
Jeff an Sarah great history lesson. That beautiful Truckee river is the only outlet for Lake Tahoe an the only outlet for Donner Lake as well. Looking forward to the cemetery episode. Great work!
I really love your videos, and some of them have inspired me to take roadtrips to visit some of these sites once this COVID-19 is over. Would love to see additional videos about Truckee, the Donner Party, and the Chinese/trans-continental railroad. There are a bunch of tunnels and a China Wall near/at Donner Pass above Donner Lake. There's also a small railroad museum on the west side of the Truckee station.
I've flown into and out of Truckee a few times on our trips from Idaho down to the Central Valley and Central Coast. Flying through Donner Pass was sometimes an adventure of it's own. Due to weather, we had to spend the night in Truckee once, but didn't have time to explore. Maybe one day we will. Thanks for another great history lesson.
Loved it Jeff what an interesting little town truckee is lot of history in it. Definitely looking forward to the next video in the cemetery my friend. Thanks so much for putting the time in to bring us these brilliant videos.
Glad you enjoyed it! I am happy that you appreciate all the effort because it does take many hours to do a short video! I appreciate you letting me know! I'm working on a bunch of them tonight! Thanks again, Jeff
I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel and looking forward to watching them all. I love the history of California, born and raised here. I just wish Sarah wasn't so grumpy and negative
Welcome to our channel! We both enjoy exploring! Not a lot of people know Sarah has lots of physical ailments that cause her pain and discomfort which would affect anyone. So thanks for being understanding!
@@jbenziggy I totally understand as I also enjoy going on trips and treks with my family and if there distances to cover although I may sound grumpy, I'm really not at all and I really want to be with them. I agree with Sarah, the first 2 digits in the year are important! This is Tony’s wife. Paula. I enjoy watching you both! Thank you for all you both do. It has been wonderful having you both in our home.
I've never been to Truckee, either. Drove through it many times, but never stopped to visit. Thanks to your video, I get a glimpse of what I've missed.
Like you, I have traveled by Truckee on I-80 without stopping. Because of your video, next time I travel by, I will make a point to check out this very neat town. Nice job!
We were impressed by the town. It is small but it has a really nice historic district as you can tell! Yes, check it out. We actually spent the night there too!
Great video. Genealogy research is my hobby. Which caused me to dig up some more information (tentative) on Jacob Teeter as follows: i.) born 1834 in Columbia NJ (close to Belvidere NJ); ii.) living in Michigan with mom, dad and siblings in 1850 (according to US census); iii.) signed up for US Army in Binghamton NY in 1863 (according to US muster rolls); iv.) served as a private in NYS 16th Heavy Artillery and then transferred to NYS 6th Heavy Artillery; v.) his unit did not fight at Gettysburg but instead got there after the battle and were responsible for burying the dead; vi.) Jacob's unit fought at the Battle of the Wilderness, the Battle of Spotsylvania, the Battle of Cold Harbor, the Siege at Petersburg, and the Battle of Cedar Creek. I think that you get the point. Jacob Teeter was a real person who comes alive when you learn about his life and history. Keep up the good work!!!!!
oh man where were you when I needed you lol have tried to find info about my dads family(all I know is what my late aunt told me) sadly I have such a common last name and John the only family name passed down is so common too
I'm new to your channel, but love the videos! Keep up the great work! Yes, I agree with you, towns should restore their buildings instead of tearing them down. I grew up in a farming/lumber town in Washington state. About 10 miles north was a town called Black Diamond, which got its name from a mining town in california with the same name. Black diamond was rich in coal mining history and had a pretty significant set of mines during the late 1880's. One of the other nearby towns(which I'm obsessed with.. lol) was "Franklin" which had several mines on the property. In the 1894(or there abouts) there was a strike at Franklin which, brought on a miners strike. African american strike breakers were brought in from the east coast to break up the strike who of which were promised good wages and a nice place to live. Eventually they did sort things out, but did cost one life during a shoot out and the national guard was brought in. Around 1914, the mines dried up and the town was abandoned. The only things left are remnants of several decaying buildings, and a 1308' vertical shaft, which was dug around 1898 when a fire broke out in one of the mines, killing 37 men. The fire was said to have been from arson, but that's still up for speculation. At one time, Franklin had around 1,200 people living there. The landscape has also changed over the years due to strip mining in the 40's and 50's. The last underground coal mine on site was blasted shut in 1974, ending mining once and for all at Franklin. Very interesting place! I am a part of the historical society in black diamond, but haven't been back there in 9 years as my wife and I now live in Pennsylvania where's she's from. I am trying to rebuild the town virtually with 3D software to it's former glory including all the buildings, the railroad, trees, bushes, everything will be animated as if the town was alive again. I would like to give the finished product to the museum so they can use that during their orientation before they take visitors to the old town site. Keep it up guys! New subscriber!
Thanks for the great message! Glad to see you found us and like us! Also congratulations on your project to recreate the town! Sounds like N interesting project and I’m sure the locals will appreciate it! I love history and enjoy seeing others getting excited about preserving the past! Thanks for reaching out! Hope you will continue to enjoy our episodes!!!
@@jbenziggy You're very welcome! You guys already got me hooked! I really like history as well, especially local history! I have quite a ways to go with that project, and have been on/off, working on it for 8 years, life takes precidence and I enjoy working on it when I can. I have a number of the "patch/row" houses created(no textures or color) and a 1 of the mine buildings(No.7 Powerhouse)(no textures/color), General is a work in progress(lots of detail) and "Knights Of Pythias Hall finished. Terrain will take the longest, as it's more involved. Need to do more more vintage map research of the area, and will probably end up using a recent topographical map to grab the terrain from and import it into my 3D program as a 3D map. Will get the project finished eventually! Lol Thank you for the reply! Looking forward to what's to come!
Yes, love it. We used to live in Rocklin, Foresthill and Roseville, traveling fairly frequently to Nevada City and Grass Valley. Now that I think of it, Forsthill area might be a good place to explore...
Thanks Jeff and Sarah for another great video. I stayed overnight in Truckee a few years ago and didn't have a chance to explore as much as I wanted. This episode has inspired me to go back and check out some of the other sights. It's also made me realize that in a few short years the birth date on my headstone may cause others to have their blonde moment.
Interesting find! We had never heard of Teeter or this story, but great job going through it in an easy to understand way! That gas station (real estate office) is so awesome!
I wouldn't expect that you've heard of Teeter and Reed. We hadn't either until we researched before heading to Truckee! Glad to hear from you and hope you've been producing more videos as I enjoy watching yours!

Hi Jeff and Sarah , Looks very much like a place to visit, but not in the winter. I've been thru there on I 80 many times but have never stopped. Thanks for the tour, very interesting. 🇺🇸
I currently live in Truckee. Moved here in March 2020. I drive past you at one point in the video. It was wholesome to see this place bee respected in a video about the cool history here.
Back in the late 1970's me and my best friend used to drive up here, of course then it was more of a sleepy town where life was slow and easy. I was surprised to see so much vehicle traffic along the streets and roadways. Watching your video makes a person feel like they have gone back in a time warp. Especially when you stopped at that old style gas station. Great videos... The ironic part is that history has been demonized by politicians and is no longer being taut in public schools, parents will need to have their kids watch some of your videos, for it's educational content.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve passed through Truckee. What a mistake….. Your video was very interesting and informative. Thank you for the all the hard work you put into your channel. Stay safe!
Next time you go through stop and check it out. Interesting town to say the least! I always appreciate you watching and commenting, Mike! Thank you very much!

He was good about sticking a mike in people's faces and let them tell the story! Hey, Tim, I appreciate you watching and commenting! Now I have some more videos to produce! Later, Jeff
Your video was very good. I have known Truckee most of my life. Our football teams used to be rivals. I am from the Tahoe. I have always enjoyed visiting Truckee but the winters are very cold. You should! Thanks for watching our video!
The clarity of the video as well as the way you tell the story is so excellent! TY!
You are so welcome! We appreciate your glowing compliments! Thank you very much!
Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
I enjoyed this visit. I've never taken the time to drive the pass from Tahoe when visiting family, but I had neighbors in Albuquerque who both worked for Delta Airlines, & re-located to Truckee. ---PS, I appreciate when you take the time to read the entire plaques aloud!
Thanks for sharing!
Used to drive a truck though there on I80 9 years, Thanks for your time!
It’s beautiful huh?
Wonderful country up there I 80 can be both a beautiful and scary place in the winter months.
Thanks for the tour of Truckee. I always thought I knew a lot about Truckee. My dad and I often passed through Truckee on our way to going hunting in Plumas County to the north. We always got gas at the Flying A Station. Depending on our plans, we often had an early breakfast in Truckee, so when we got to Plumas
County we were all set to begin hunting.
Thanks for so much for the historic trip. Very nice. Continue doing what you do. Love it.
Thanks, will do! More to come! We appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! Jeff and Sarah
Great Job! a lot of history in town I didn't know.
Great work!
Much thanks Dennis! We appreciate your comments!
I visited Truckee about 20 years ago and actually spent a night in the Truckee Hotel. A treasured memory. It’s a very awesome town. Nice video.
Sarah mentioned the winter... Truckee is often the coldest place in CA and often in the whole USA....
I grew up there. The stories I could tell you!
Thank you! You can go to these places now, you just have to wear a mask in some counties. Some counties have restrictions on dine-in as well.
I've always liked the name of that town and wanted to stop. I really enjoyed your tour, Jeff!
Glad you enjoyed the tour, Steve! I need to watch your Dennis the Menace video today!
Hi there Steve! I'm happy to see you on here!! I hope you had a happy 4th! 😀
@@jbenziggy My husband and I love your videos Jeff and we hope that you and your wife had a happy 4th!! 😀
Thank you Josh & Sarah for the video!😊❤🇺🇸
Jeff, you do such a great job of narrating and bringing the best out of every place you vlog. Kudos and can't wait for your next adventure. 😊
That’s awesome to hear! Thanks so much!
Great video Jeff and Sarah keep them coming ,I’m learning a lot about your country and history 👍🏻👍🏻
Wonderful! I thank you very much, Mark! I know you have commented before but I like the continual feedback!
Jeff is very knowledgible about Truckee. Thank you Jeff and Sarah.
If our goal is to climb a hill all my thoughts and energy goes into getting up that hill, even thou I may say "oh damn" at first. I am always glad I went.
I don't know why we passed by it so much, maybe to get to Reno or Tahoe on time. Glad we stopped this time. Thanks for watching, Unca!
Very cool we never got to wander old Truckee When passing through. Thanks a bunch for the tour ! Enjoy!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it Keith!
I,,ve lived here for 52 years, good job from Jimi Baker a 60 year old Australian migrant, who moved here in 1970
Like you, I have traveled by Truckee on I-80 without stopping. Because of your video, next time I travel by, I will make a point to check out this very neat town.
Nice job!
We were impressed by the town. It is small but it has a really nice historic district as you can tell! Yes, check it out. We actually spent the night there too!
Thank you for sharing this Beauitful Town an its History. I really enjoyed this Video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Makes us proud to hear words like yours, Texas 60!
You guys are great. I haven't been to Truckee since 1971, this has made me want to go back and I will soon. I love all your vidieos...
I saw this early this morning but decided to watch while eating dinner. Always fun and informative. Thanks Jeff and Sarah.
You are very welcome! Glad we kept you company through dinner! LOL
He shot the sheriff, but he didn't shoot the deputy.
😄😄😄
Damn you beat me to it lol, you beat me to it by a long time
No; He shot the Sheriff, and he was his deputy.
Haaa!
Lol
Thank you for the reply! Looking forward to what's to come!
Great information, Jeff and Sarah. Thank you! I am partial to old American west history.
I use to live there 1989 to 1996. Truckee will always be home.
Just went through there again yesterday and it is beautiful!
Thanks, spent our honeymoon in 1977 in North Lake Tahoe, beautiful historic area. Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley, Donner Lake/Pass, Truckee etc💯👊🎯
Yes, love it. We used to live in Rocklin, Foresthill and Roseville, traveling fairly frequently to Nevada City and Grass Valley. Now that I think of it, Forsthill area might be a good place to explore...
I truly enjoy your videos Jeff!!! I also find it a bonus when Sarah is in them!!! Keep up the great work!!!
I have a fan! Thank you for watching!
Glad you like them!
I’m not sure how I stumbled across your channel but I watch all your videos, very interesting and very well done👍, Suffolk England
Welcome aboard! We appreciate your nice compliments!
Hello. North. Of. Seattle. Wa. I really enjoy your channel. Very much. It’s. One of my. Very favorite s. For. Shure !!!! Thanks. For all the extra info. That you include. In. Every video. Very very much enjoy. All your stuff. Awesome. Job. Really nice job !!!!
Hi Jeff and Sarah , Looks very much like a place to visit, but not in the winter. I've been thru there on I 80 many times but have never stopped. Thanks for the tour, very interesting. 🇺🇸
Next time you go through stop and check it out. Interesting town to say the least! I always appreciate you watching and commenting, Steve! Thank you!
@@jbenziggy You're Welcome 🇺🇸
Beautiful family Jeff!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and more successful 2022 to your channel!☺😘
I currently live in Truckee. Moved here in March 2020. I drive past you at one point in the video. It was wholesome to see this place bee respected in a video about the cool history here.
are you following the Kiely Rodni case currently happening there??
Back in the late 1970's me and my best friend used to drive up here, of course then it was more of a sleepy town where life was slow and easy. I was surprised to see so much vehicle traffic along the streets and roadways. Watching your video makes a person feel like they have gone back in a time warp. Especially when you stopped at that old style gas station. Great videos... The ironic part is that history has been demonized by politicians and is no longer being taut in public schools, parents will need to have their kids watch some of your videos, for it's educational content.
I love your videos I've been to several places in my life and have learned more from your videos then when I was there....
Great video, I never realized just how busy things are out west(I'm in PA)busy here as well !
Thanks very much Frank! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much!
why a mistake ?
Trukee is a great stop on the way to Reno...
Excellent Video. Thank you.
I've enjoyed watching your videos. I've been binge watching sense I found you. You do such a good job. Keep up the good work.
Loved it Jeff truckee is Avery cool place especially in winter thanks again for opening eyes to California history in documentation
Central California watching
From one Central Californian to another, glad you enjoyed it!
@@jbenziggy I'll let you know when I don't like a video, don't see that happening
as a kid we would vacation at Donner Lake so I know you can shoot many many videos of Truckee history. I’m looking forward to the cemetery video I’ve been there many times and it is fascinating and you have another video of the Donner party disaster, you have many videos you can shoot in Truckee 👍👍
We will have another Donner Party video coming up soon! We visited both the Donner Camp site and the memorial site. ! I always appreciate you watching and commenting, Dan! Thank you!
Another great history hunt Thank You... Looking forward to the Cemetery.
ha ha, great excitement! i don't like too many folks but i like you two just fine! i was born and mostly raised in california and i have walked on the ground you show in your video.
Becoming a huge fan of your vids. Very informative stuff.....and Sarah is a very lovely lady.
Thanks very much!
Thanks, I have visited the town several times o visits to USA. Many happy memories.
Love this! When were you there? I was just up there admiring these same buildings last Sunday and wondering about them . This helps explain a lot !
Thanks! We shot this on June 12! Glad it helped fill in some of the blanks!
Thank you!🤗🌹 Love you both😊😊
🤗 Thank you, Krystyna! We appreciate you as a fan! We're enjoying this!
I am a Teeter and my father used to tell me stories about Jacob Teeter, so much that I named my son after him!
Fascinating! Are you from Truckee?
@@jbenziggy No, I am from Lodi, CA. Great videos!
Great video, thanks for the education. I've stopped there once. I need to spend more time there. Check out Goodyears bar and Downieville sometime.
Thanks for the tips! Thanks for watching! Glad we could provide the free education. LOL
Wow, I never been there, but I will be going this year. You'all make your videos with great depth and detail. Love and look forward to your adventures. Still going back and looking at your older ones.
Thanks,
Thanks so much, Don! We hope our videos are getting better with time!
@@jbenziggy your videos and narrative reporting would make Huell Howser proud, knowing that your videos are showing "The California Gold" I love to watch you two! Your counter part makes me laugh with her comments and facial expressions. You're funny with your response to her. Lololol
Again LOVE watching! And yes, videos get better, but I don't think you can get any better. Just sayin
Very good presentation of an interesting time and place in history.....
Glad you enjoyed it!!!!
Great video , just love the way you explain all about American history many thanks
Glad you like them, Colin!
Great to learn about Truckee's history. Didn't know that Teddy Roosevelt visited this town. I wonder if Mark Twain passed by Truckee too in the 1860s on his way from Carson City to San Francisco.
Could be! I don't know the answer but it seems like he could have. Seems every town in Northern California claims Mark Twain slept there. LOL
What a beautiful little town! Really enjoyed your video!
Thanks so very much!
Very well documented and narrated video, really enjoyed watching.
Awesome! Thank you!
Another outstanding tour!!! Been in Truckee a number of times and it is one "BUSY" place!!
You got that right! Hey thanks for watching and commenting! It's much appreciated! Jeff
Awsum... 👍🏻🤠🇺🇸
Truckee Has Lots of History There...
You got that right!
I have been to these place many times , when I stayed with my friends in Stockton often times we visit Reno we passed by these beautiful place Truckee.
It is a very beautiful part of California and we always enjoy it when we get up there. Thank you for watching our video and we hope that you subscribe.
Another Fantastic video well done Jeff your the new Huell Howser and I am a big fan of his.
That's ama-z-i-n=g as Huell used to say. What an honor to be likened to him. But I think he knew far less about the places he visited than I do.
If any of your viewers are in the area of Reno or Tahoe or Sacramento they should really try to take a day trip and go over to Truckee and Donner Lake because all that area is extremely interesting.
Thanks for sharing! Glad you liked our video!
I love all your videos . History is my favorite subject. I am working on 4 Ancestry trees so studying history helps.
Awesome, 3rd time watching...love your vids...I'ld love to live in Truckee with all the snow ❄
Good programs, enjoy hearing about the history! do some in Arizona!
We'd love to visit Arizona! Thanks! Hopefully soon! Please do us a favor and subscribe!
