Picking Good Targets Out Of Iron With The Minelab Manticore

In this video I use the Minelab Manticore in a “hunted out” home site and manage to pick some good targets out of a bed of iron.

Had my new manticore for 3 days , upgraded it and after that had very very poor depth , could not see a silver dime at 4”
Or a gold ring at 4” , after many calls to minelab they paid for me to ship it back to them and I should be receiving my new manticore in about 2 weeks , they handled it well , thanks god we have 2” of snow now lol

Appreciate the live digs and video on the manticore. 👍🏼. I’ve got a couple questions/curiosities to ask if you don’t mind.
1. I noticed you were hunting in AT Gen. Does AT High Conduct produce more iron falsing for you in that ground than AT Gen or AT LC does?
2. Auto Ground Tracking: This may be a bit in depth, but I’m positive with your knowledge and background in detecting, I’m asking the right person this question……..First, let me give you my premise: I read a reply from Tom D on the Dankowski forum that the ground balance setting can affect stability of a deep target in addition to depth (I say “can” because that depends on the depth of the target and the saturation of ground minerals). When the ground has low mineralization, slight variances in the ground balance setting typically will be benign…..on the contrary, for deeper targets or targets in highly mineralized ground, slight changes to the ground balance setting can have a profound effect on VDI stability and depth.
I’ve also watched a couple videos that showed how slowly the auto tracking feature adjusts to drastically changing conditions……but even if the ground conditions you’re hunting are fairly normalized from one section to the next, I’m wondering how much you can skew the ground balance value by swinging/wiggling your coil over a conductive target for over 30 seconds or so? My hunch is that the tracking function will start adjusting the GB value internally while swinging over a conductive target, then try to gradually get back to true ground balance when you resume to swing over target-less ground……..of course the assumption is based on my premise that the GB feature has the ability to affect stability and depth of targets. Sorry for being so wordy……Thanks! 👍🏼
