Love is like a dream is my favorite from him. Its imo his most emotional and tender song which still showcases his range, specifically his lower register.

Dimash barely spoke English at that point (MUCH improved now 2 years later) and so the pronunciations aren’t great, but the performance is. I think you’ll really like his interpretation of the song. Love is like a dream is really great and a more recent performance. But you should absolutely do Sinful Passion, it's just as amazing as SOS, maybe even better.
"Love is like a Dream" is great for seeing his amazing breath control, resonant low register and angelic head voice. "Sinful Passion" however showcases his complete and astounding technical mastery of every aspect of singing. No note is too high for him, no sustain too long, no run too fast, no technique too hard Sinful Passion proves that if singers were cars, the most famous singers in the world would be Ferraris and Porshes.... and Dimash would be the Bugatti "Voiture Noire".
@@--isaac It's beautiful. Pretty much every performance on that show was stunning, except Uptown Funk. The whole Show was just perfect for him: the band, the lighting, the way it was filmed, even the size of the audience - not too small, not to big. I also think the artists have a good amount of say in what their performance should look like.

Every time I watch an Opera 2 reaction, I really want to hear that the person is familiar with the original Vitas version. It's such a treat to see the reaction on how flawless Dimash's vocals are. Please do the Diva Dance from Bastau concert. But before listening to it, do yourself a favor and listen to the original version that was made digitally. And Daybreak with Daididau from Bastau too. Love of tired swans, Sinful Passion, Love is Like a dream are all songs in Russian. Watch all of these from Dimash's official channel, you'll be able to turn the captions on and though the interpretations are not the best, these songs are more about the lyrics. And the vocals fit the lyrics in an extremely passionate and beautiful way. Oh, and Mademoiselle Hyde is worth watching as well. (Too many words, sorry)
Caleb did you happen to notice at the end when you said wow, there was a shot of a lady in one of the contestant rooms that showed her saying wow at the same time. If you happen to watch this again, the cameras cut away to one older good looking gentleman, that is Dimash's father. In other performances the camera's will show both mother and father. Dimash also has a video where he sings a duet with his sister,(visually amazing). His brother is highly skilled in their country's "guitar" it has 2-3 strings, Dimash plays this instrument in one of his performances in this competition. Dimash can play 7 different instruments and is leaning the western guitar. Now about the performance, I was overwhelmed the first time i saw this. I was in tears just all his other performances do to me. It is an involuntary response my brain does when any kind of performance overcomes my ability to rationalize or' maybe reconcile is a better word, what I have seen or heard. I have been this way since I can remember. You can imagine the problems I had growing up. I'm 68 yrs. old now I can tell everybody to pound sand, but since I am this old I've become irrelevant. They just slowly move away afraid they might catch something. Thanks for your responses to these videos. Oh, if I could sing like you you wouldn't be able to shut me up. As it is my voice has been described as sounding like, "geese farts on a muggy day". I also play guitar like I have terminal arthritis in my hands. But, I can listen the hell out of music. I've said enough, barely.
I'm really biased when it comes to Queen because Queen is my favorite band. I think you'd have to watch that one with a really open mind because he changed it a lot. Vocally, he killed it, but his arrangement was very different and he did not speak a lick of English at the time so he learned it phonetically in a week's time. If you want a Queen cover, I suggest the more recent Queen medley first! 😊 the link is in your other video.
Dimash is a master of music. He is so precise in every note he touches being the low, mid, or high . He is just perfect. And you sir is very pleasant to hear with your critiques. Thank you. As other Dears had recommended already, The Show Must Go On by Queens is a must.

It's not a whilstle tone - it is a type of head voice, but with Dimash it is grey territory it seems because the rules that apply to other voices don't seem to apply to him so it is very hard to define! :)

Hi Caleb! Thank You for this reaction....I am so happy that you are watching him. There are so many performances from Dimash to see. Confessa and the Diva Dance from Singer 2017. Confessa he starts to sing in Chinese but, switches to Italian and when he is done he does the Diva Dance from the movie the Fifth Element. Please remember that when Dimash was on this Singer show no one had ever heard of him and no one had ever heard him sing ...not even the singers on the show. Dimash did not know any Chinese or English so when he did the songs he learned them phonetically. A lot of people mentioned his accent, I say that is so impressive!! Thank you very much for your great reactions to Dimash. You already got great advice on what of his performances to react to next - which is practically everything because you can't go wrong with him. However I wanted to stress an aspect that I feel was a little under stressed in the other reactions. Please do not overlook his native songs that he performs in his mother tongue - Kazakh. These are incredibly beautiful and he pours his heart and soul into them. It is not all (just) about law\high notes, but about the emotions these songs invoke. You can find many of them in his Bastau and other concerts, as well as music videos. The first one is Daididau. He performed it very well on Singer, but the Bastau version is the greatest and it just kills me emotionally every time. Others I recommend are Karagim-ay, My Swan and there are many more - all of them very beautiful and touching. I had never listened to a Kazakh song before running into Dimash, but now I think they are my favorite of all. I also recommend his duets with other singers from Kazakhstan, like Sundet, Zarina, Maira, Alisher and others, many of them opera singers, as well as his duets with Chinese singers. And the Chinese song videos, such as The Meaning of Eternity, Ocean over Time and Battle of Memories, are also great. Also, if you are interested in his own music, then War and Peace and of course Unforgettable Day (Gakku) are a must. And of course, good luck with S.O.S. - I am sure you will nail it and would love to hear it!
Caleb, I am sorry that I forgot to tell you that on the Singer episode 4 it is called Late Autumn but when you go to Gloria Wu to get the story it is titled Autumn Strong so please include it in reaction as it includes the performance with English subtitles just like Dimash story behind SOS once it gets to his performance is when it shows English subtitles where you can get the words for your preparation to sing it. And when you get to episode 8 for reaction Gloria also calls it Daybreak so please use it for reaction.

How should I concentrate on Dimash and your reaction to him with this fantastic fangs in that sweet smile. Seriously, stop being that dangerously voluptuous. :D Not that I need to concentrate much on Dimash, I've seen this performance possibly a hundred times.. But I love honest reactions on him, and yours feels real, while you can clearly tell from the timing of the reactions of oh so many reacting youtubers, they are clearly faking and ost often not even good. I actually had to think of a female with pronounced fangs when your smile caught me, and she happened to be a musician/singer. And now I would love to see a reaction from you on a live performance, but I'm unsure if you could even connect with this type of music/performance. I'll pick a song which might not belong to my favorites but might be less 'disturbing' and easier to react to. Though their songs are pretty long in general, especially live. "Love is like a Dream" is great for seeing his amazing breath control, resonant low register and angelic head voice. "Sinful Passion" however showcases his complete and astounding technical mastery of every aspect of singing. No note is too high for him, no sustain too long, no run too fast, no technique too hard Sinful Passion proves that if singers were cars, the most famous singers in the world would be Ferraris and Porshes.... and Dimash would be the Bugatti "Voiture Noire".

@@--isaac It's beautiful. Pretty much every performance on that show was stunning, except Uptown Funk. The whole Show was just perfect for him: the band, the lighting, the way it was filmed, even the size of the audience - not too small, not to big. I also think the artists have a good amount of say in what their performance should look like.

Every time I watch an Opera 2 reaction, I really want to hear that the person is familiar with the original Vitas version. It's such a treat to see the reaction on how flawless Dimash's vocals are.
Please do the Diva Dance from Bastau concert. But before listening to it, do yourself a favor and listen to the original version that was made digitally.
And Daybreak with Daididau from Bastau too. Love of tired swans, Sinful Passion, Love is Like a dream are all songs in Russian. Watch all of these from Dimash's official channel, you'll be able to turn the captions on and though the interpretations are not the best, these songs are more about the lyrics. And the vocals fit the lyrics in an extremely passionate and beautiful way. Oh, and Mademoiselle Hyde is worth watching as well.

Caleb did you happen to notice at the end when you said wow, there was a shot of a lady in one of the contestant rooms that showed her saying wow at the same time. If you happen to watch this again, the cameras cut away to one older good looking gentleman, that is Dimash's father. In other performances the camera's will show both mother and father. Dimash also has a video where he sings a duet with his sister,(visually amazing). His brother is highly skilled in their country's "guitar" it has 2-3 strings, Dimash plays this instrument in one of his performances in this competition. Dimash can play 7 different instruments and is leaning the western guitar.
Now about the performance, I was overwhelmed the first time i saw this. I was in tears just all his other performances do to me. It is an involuntary response my brain does when any kind of performance overcomes my ability to rationalize or' maybe reconcile is a better word, what I have seen or heard. I have been this way since I can remember. You can imagine the problems I had growing up. I'm 68 yrs. old now I can tell everybody to pound sand, but since I am this old I've become irrelevant. They just slowly move away afraid they might catch something. Thanks for your responses to these videos. Oh, if I could sing like you you wouldn't be able to shut me up. As it is my voice has been described as sounding like, "geese farts on a muggy day". I also play guitar like I have terminal arthritis in my hands. But, I can listen the hell out of music. I've said enough, barely.
I'm really biased when it comes to Queen because Queen is my favorite band. I think you'd have to watch that one with a really open mind because he changed it a lot. Vocally, he killed it, but his arrangement was very different and he did not speak a lick of English at the time so he learned it phonetically in a week's time. If you want a Queen cover, I suggest the more recent Queen medley first! 😊 the link is in your other video.

It's not a whilstle tone - it is a type of head voice, but with Dimash it is grey territory it seems because the rules that apply to other voices don't seem to apply to him so it is very hard to define! :)

Hi Caleb! Thank You for this reaction....I am so happy that you are watching him. There are so many performances from Dimash to see. Confessa and the Diva Dance from Singer 2017. Confessa he starts to sing in Chinese but, switches to Italian and when he is done he does the Diva Dance from the movie the Fifth Element. Please remember that when Dimash was on this Singer show no one had ever heard of him and no one had ever heard him sing ...not even the singers on the show. Dimash did not know any Chinese or English so when he did the songs he learned them phonetically. A lot of people mentioned his accent, I say that is so impressive!! You already got great advice on what of his performances to react to next - which is practically everything because you can't go wrong with him. However I wanted to stress an aspect that I feel was a little under stressed in the other reactions. Please do not overlook his native songs that he performs in his mother tongue - Kazakh. These are incredibly beautiful and he pours his heart and soul into them. It is not all (just) about law\high notes, but about the emotions these songs invoke. You can find many of them in his Bastau and other concerts, as well as music videos. The first one is Daididau. He performed it very well on Singer, but the Bastau version is the greatest and it just kills me emotionally every time. Others I recommend are Karagim-ay, My Swan and there are many more - all of them very beautiful and touching. I had never listened to a Kazakh song before running into Dimash, but now I think they are my favorite of all. I also recommend his duets with other singers from Kazakhstan, like Sundet, Zarina, Maira, Alisher and others, many of them opera singers, as well as his duets with Chinese singers. And the Chinese song videos, such as The Meaning of Eternity, Ocean over Time and Battle of Memories, are also great. Also, if you are interested in his own music, then War and Peace and of course Unforgettable Day (Gakku) are a must.
And of course, good luck with S.O.S. - I am sure you will nail it and would love to hear it!

Caleb, I am sorry that I forgot to tell you that on the Singer episode 4 it is called Late Autumn but when you go to Gloria Wu to get the story it is titled Autumn Strong so please include it in reaction as it includes the performance with English subtitles just like Dimash story behind SOS once it gets to his performance is when it shows English subtitles where you can get the words for your preparation to sing it. And when you get to episode 8 for reaction Gloria also calls it Daybreak so please use it for reaction.

Not that I need to concentrate much on Dimash, I've seen this performance possibly a hundred times..
But I love honest reactions on him, and yours feels real, while you can clearly tell from the timing of the reactions of oh so many reacting youtubers, they are clearly faking and ost often not even good. They are just aware of all the Dears out there and how much attention a reaction to Dimash would bring. Sad thing to me. But thank you for doing it better and being authentic!

If you think you are ready to jump in a pool filled with cold water and take a risk, you might chose Heilung Lifa In Maidjan instead, but it's even 2 minutes longer. But with more different techniques so still good to react to for a singer coming from another genre.
