This is so classically early 2000’s pop-punk when everyone was trying to mimic Blink! Brought me back to High School immediately
I knew exactly who they are (1984 baby!) and LOVE them. Was so hype to hear them called out. The Starting Line puts on a a KICKIN show! (Sincerely, warped tour 2004 attendee lolol)
I’m a Gen-xer and was in my 20s when this came out. I loved it then and now when I hear it so many memories flood my brain which leads to goosebumps and tears. An incredible song.
It’s interesting to think and talk about the thematic rationale for name dropping this band and this song, and how it relates to the themes on Taylor’s album on the whole. It’s a very smart reference that does a lot of work in three words

This is so classic early 2000s pop punk. I know Taylor is big fan of the genre, so I was so happy to hear her reference it in The Black Dog.
