I don't get this, in the first movie it was more than clear numidia was under the roman empire, how come here it seems like the Romans just got there for the first time???
That's wrong, in the first Gladiator Numidia is not even mentioned once (all we got from that movie was a glimpse of a map in Marcus Aurelius tent) there's only a scene in Zuccabar but that place belonged to Mauretania Caesariensis and not Numidia. It's a movie in any case, don't really know how you guys find the time to analyze such things, it's hilarious because in 30 years we've never seen an Epic film that was also historical yet but when it comes to Ridley productions everyone must hurry to say something smart about it 😂😂😂
What you said is just wrong on so many levels, North Africa had plenty of coastal cities like this: Utica/Carthage/Caesarea/Leptis Magna etc... also, that's such a lame comment to make about a "movie" as if we're watching it for historical references, these comments are honestly embarrassing and cringe.
This is an incredible way to open a movie. I liked this siege of Numidia even more than the opening battle scene in the original Gladiator.
For me one of the best short battles Ive seen, just for how unique it is
I loved this opening battle, only thing that was a miss is that they all somehow loose their shields when the fighting starts
It is more like the assault on Syracuse, carried out by the Roman general Claudius Marcellus in the best times of the Roman Republic.
they should make a movie about flavius belisarius which is cannon xd than this
Cant believe people were calling this a bad movie
Very artsy Roman battle. The battle from the first movie felt more medieval.
true ,
0:28 Legio III Augusta the Roman military unit in charge of operations in North Africa.
Their headquarters were located in lambaesis now days Algeria !!

Writers - ''Hey Ridley, would you rather do Ben-Hur, Kingdom of Heaven or Gladiator?''
Ridley Scott - ''Yes''

You've come to the wrong shop for historical accuracy. 😅
Alexander the great used widely trebuchets
I like how Numidian women took arms like Amazonian warriors compared to Roman women who were less barbarians 😂
Fictional
It's not a proper 'naumachia' unless someone orders "Ramming speed!" 😅

Numidia in east of Algeria.
Numidia battle was BC and Gladiador facts were AD. I don't understand?
Naval part cool but sward fight part very forgettable.
From the Beginning i thought Pedro Pascal does not fit as a Roman General. I like him, but not in this Movie
Maximus maximus maximus
Very accurate arty from both sides. Incredible. Not really. Moving targets would be hard to hit.
This looked scripted. Original looked actual where it could go either way. Disappointed
