Tilly and teddy definitely know you’re pregnant. Cats have super powerful hearing and can hear things we don’t. They will be able to hear yours and baby’s heartbeat which will be strange to them so that’s why Tilly is all over you!
For a newborn, I would suggest plenty of short sleeved vest & babygrows- Outfits are lovely, but the baby will need changing so frequently, so you can never get enough of the essentials! Also you may like a Swedish children's clothing brand that do muted tones so well, they are called "Newbie"- They are online & have actual stores in London aswell
Couldn’t recommend supermarket baby clothes enough! They are so affordable, wash (and tumble dry) so well and doesn’t matter when they get ruined by nappy explosions, sick and baby food because they aren’t too expensive 🥰 Asda and Tesco are so so good as well as Matalan, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s and Primark 🤍🤍 for a newborn, both of my babies lived in baby grows… they are so comfy, cosy and easy! (I always used poppers and they are fine, they change the colour of them now to make it easier) and when they start to move around I then moved more to outfits 🤍🤍
A few packages of cheap, thin receiving blankets can come in very handy, especially with a late spring/summer baby. It's just a little layer between the baby and the room air during warmer months. They make excellent burp/changing cloths, don't take up much room in a diaper bag, and take very little time to dry.
Hi Gemma iv recently found you and fell in love with your bubbly personality it’s lovely and uplifting I’m currently binging your whole channel mostly at night when feeding my baby love to you both ❤️
I bought my daughter Tones of outfits she hardly wore. Baby grows, knitted cardigans, vests, hats, scratch mits were my essentials for the newborn stage. Summer wise I think rompers are so cute with a sun hat! Congratulations too you both ❤
Don't be in too much of a rush and stressed over the nursery. Baby will be in your room for the first 6 months anyway so they won't be using it immediately 😊
I DM'd saying zip up sleepsuits are THE game changer for newborns and easy baby changing 😄 All 3 of my babies just lived in bodysuits and sleepsuits till they were about 3 or 4 months, I just think it's the most comfortable for them when they're mostly just snuggled up for the first few months sleeping or being cuddled and nursed.
Newborns really spend their life in sleepsuits, plain, cotton, comfortable and cosy. Highly recommend a few swaddle blankets too. You will smash this don't stress about it xx
Ever so lovely to see you with a coffee and being cosy. And having a lovely chat to us all l loved the quote you shared..glad you are feeling better. 🥰👍
Would love a baby item/ clothing haul as everything looks so cute. I found with my daughter that it was easier for the first month to keep her in sleep suits and then after the month I started to introduce her to clothes like the ones you have been showing that are easier to put on so no tiny buttons etc 😂. However I did meet a mum who dressed her baby up from day one and baby loved it. I agree it makes u relax when the nursery is done and I always changed nappies and done a bit of play time in the nursery to make sure it was used so not a waste of time doing early
It is so wonderful Gemma to see a young woman like you embrace this pregnancy the way you have. I hope you enjoy every step along the journey as I did and there is no greater joy than welcoming you first child. I wish you and Jamie a safe delivery and I look forward to watching all of it.❤️❤️
I've missed these videos of yours :))) I'm so excited to watch this . I look forward to your cozy days at home and cleaning videos they are they best ones out there and it just helps me relax with everything going on. and congrats to your growing family. your going to be the best mom.
Hi Gemma love all the baby update . I pregnant with my little girl but I got her loads of baby grows for her first three months look so cute and easy when thet are that tiny x
Short sleeve vests and baby grows for 0-1 months , cellular blankets are brill for cribs and for summer. Don’t go too crazy on newborn as you never know there size 💓💓 Love all the teddy fleece stuff 😍
Vests and babygrows are the best things for newborns, easy to put on. I found with my first we brought lots of jeans etc and the reality is they aren’t too easy to put on! Next are absolutely amazing for vests and baby grows, amazing quality, they wash really well and they are so cute! Xx
Oh there is nothing I love more than your cosy vlogs 🥰 I honestly can't wait for all the vlogs this year and to watch everything that's to come for you and your little family 🤍✨
Yes, yes, yes on the baby clothes haul. Remember to always have a camera nearby when the baby comes and also have a photographer booked for your family photos...on the beach, in the park, near the city lights, in the field behind your house!!! I can't wait! ❤
Gemma!!! Did I not get the notification where you announced you were having a girl?! Omg I’m so freaking excited for that chapter in your life! A lot of the little outfits you bought baby looks like it’s more for a girl not a boy.
For newborn clothes, keep in mind babies can't temperature regulate until about a year old, so it is best to keep them in lightweight bodysuits and layer. They are generally too cold rather than too hot so even in the summer they should wear full body suits that are lighter materials. Babies also can't wear sunscreen until 6 months so keep that in mind during the summer, keep the covered and in the shade
Hi Gemma, I’m so happy for you and Jamie! I loved this video today. The cats absolutely can sense the baby and are more protective over you. Baby hauls are the best! Can’t wait to see the nursery!❤️❤️
In those first few weeks baby is nit able to regulate their own temperature very well so buy short sleeve vests but still long sleeve baby grows. Babys chill easily and getting too hot is a risk for SIDS so generally baby needs one more layer than you, hence the vests. As a mum of 5 I would say the most important thing to buy is muslin cloths you will use them for everything! Xx
Please show all the baby stuff!! I love watching baby content, and I’m sure your other subscribers will too!! We’re all just as excited as you to see everything and watch you and Jamie on this amazing new journey xx
Massive congratulations! 🤍 Things to buy in newborn and first size - babygrows, vests & plenty of sleepsuits!! Zip ones are SO much better, they're quicker and easier but newborns are very easy to get changed compared to when theyre old enough to crawl and walk😆 the zip sleepsuits come in handy then believe me!😆 We bought so many outfits for our son when he was a newborn and he literally just lived in sleepsuits and vests etc and so a lot of his outfits were never worn!! They grow so so quickly and sleepsuits are just so comfortable and cosy for them and their delicate little bodies 🥰 All the best xxx
Hey Gemma, newborns go through so many clothes throughout the day because they are spilling milk, throwing up and poop accidents so it’s good to get lots of babygrows. For summer it’s good to put them in short sleeve vests with a light blanket or sleeping bags with a vest under it. Hope that helps xx
I couldn't click fast enough I literally live to watch theese videos they automatically just brighten up my day been following you now for about 4 years and it's amazing to see how far you've come xxxx
Huge congratulations to you both I can’t even explain how happy I am to see you on this journey. You both will make such amazing parents and I’m so excited to see you grow into the amazing mother we all know you are and will be! My baby was born in May as well, just wanted to give you some tips and things that I found really helpful! I’m also a midwife and have picked up lots of tips and tricks! Lots of short sleeved vests, baby grows will be your best friend and I can’t recommend the zipped ones enough they make the biggest difference especially at night time!! Lots of Muslin cloths you will go through them so quickly especially in the early days they spit up a lot! The Aden and anais ones are amazing and they have the cutest little patterns! Also I would recommend asking people to buy nappies and wipes as presents because you will get so many clothes from people and if you’re anything like I was I didn’t get through them all and it felt so wasteful! Nappies and wipes are literally never going to go to waste you’ll be surprised how many you will go through and wipes will be a main character in your life for years to come (my son is now 2.5 and I use wipes so often still- can’t have too many), as well for yourself I really recommend the always pants like the boutique ones for postpartum, they are so convenient I swore by them! Also recommend towards the end of your pregnancy maybe April time that you start making extra when you cook dinner and freeze some, not having to worry about dinner in the early days is a game changer! Also have a nappy caddy or something to have some nappies, wipes and a changing mat in a few areas of the house wherever you spend the most time because it makes life easier especially when you are healing from the birth! I could go on forever but they are just some of my top tips. So excited to watch your content over the next months xxx
You could even shop for 6-9 months, as your baby will be 7 months old come Christmas. Both of my kids were born in May, and I always bought their winter stuff the previous year, especially when I saw little bits that I loved. The first few weeks you're probably just gonna have the baby in vests/babygros so I would just stock up on plenty of those and I do mean plenty lol
About book and sayings. If you start anything you want in bad mood and continue to force yourself to make small steps- nothing good will come from it. More struggles of the little steps. The main thing is your good mood when you start anything and inspiration💓💓💓
This has made me feel slightly better about my sickness! So glad you are feeling like yourself again!! Currently pregnant and I’ve got hyperemeses it’s so bad but I’m hoping I’ll overcome it in the second trimester xxx
I’m currently pregnant myself and I just find your videos so calming and relaxing, you just give off the most genuine and lovely vibes🥰 your videos have definitely helped on the days where I feel down, can’t wait to follow you on your pregnancy journey!
Bodies are the MOST important thing in my opinion. Longsleve and midi sleve. Especially some where you dont have to really open to put in the babys head. H&m have some of the best ones. And PJ‘s only with zipper make life SO MUCH EASIER!
In regards to zip up baby grows, they are easier in the sense of getting baby dressed, less fiddly but when it comes to changing nappies, it does make it slightly difficult to change as you would have to unzip the full baby grow to change them and them maybe getting cold, Whereas with the poppers you’d only have to unpop a few to change baby, if that makes any sense💕💕 try both? See which you prefer xx
Hi mom of 2 here! For newborn you only need sleepers for at home and a few cooler outfits for going out :) and I’d recommend only onesies until about 6-9 months because shirts tend to ride up when they’re that little (sweaters don’t do that though!) I recommend just leggings and onesies and Jammie’s for majority of each size! And while you’re pregnant try to get full wardrobes up to 6-9 months!! And put aside a drawer for clothes that are bigger sizes so you can look through it every time they size up to see what you already have ❤️ I wish you the best!
Keep to a narrow colour pallet so everything matches, babies just want to be comfy and they need to be the right temperature as they have no control of it in the early weeks, so easy access comfy clothes and layers.. don't get too much in each size as they grow too fast! baby grows all the way! think about things you like to wear laying around and that is what you need in a mini size xxx
Yes please do a baby clothing haul. My baby is due in July and I just bought loads of lovely clothes from Gap and John Lewis in the sale, some quite summery stuff too 😊
Those baby clothes are soo bloody cute 🐻 please do a little haul of what you’ve bought baby so far. Glad you’re feeling much better… you’re glowing 💖 xx
Have you ever seen someone so happy and excited to be having a baby and yes would love to see a baby clothing haul how could you not when she is so excited want to see it all.xx
My little boy was born in may and I literally had no clue as the weather is so temperamental. He mainly wore just long sleeved babygrows, if it was really hot I didn’t put a vest on him. Honestly the first couple of months all you need is babygrows. Poppers are just as easy as zip ups, supermarkets are the best place, no need to spend loads and there just as nice. You’ll learn along the way - I definitely have!xx
I just had my first baby in October, congratulations!! Snaps are a no-go for newborn if you ask me, go for outfits with zips and magnets, you’ll be changing them all the time at first, so I found snaps very annoying. Now that he’s three months, snaps are totally fine. My son is such a wiggle worm and escape artist, I highly recommend fleece Halo swaddle sleep sacks, it’s the only one he couldn’t get a hand out of and it kept him warm as we like our house on the chilly side at night when we’re asleep. Busting out of the swaddle means he’s awake, and if he’s awake, we’re awake… we love our sleep 😂
Zip up baby grows are by far the easiest clothes. I recommend those when you’re home and save the cute clothes for when you go out or people come over. Also I would die for full baby clothes haul, they’re so tiny and cute I can’t deal!
night gowns or day gowns for newborn nights or frankly days lol are awesome. You can just flip the bottom up for nappy changes and flip it down again No fiddly zips or poppers. Clothes with fold over cuffs and feet in them so you don't have to chase scratch mitts and socks around the house. Lots of swaddles and spitty cloths. Also if you are going to cloth diaper make sure you get ones that ether have a pocket so you can take the stuffing out or have a long attached soaker piece that will come out of the pocket. That way they wash and dry quicker.
Re. the caffeine, I would recommend you double check which pods you buy, as the intensity number isn’t about the amount of caffeine, it’s a variety of factors including taste. Nespresso explain online which pods tend to have a lower percentage of caffeine, so would be useful to check. 👍🏼
I get the majority of my little girls clothes (born April 2021 so currently 9m old) from H&M . Really affordable, good sizing & wash well 😊 . Honestly the best thing for a newborn are sleepsuits! Don’t mess around with outfits when baby is tiny. They look so cute in just a lovely sleepsuit. Zip up ones are a lot easier for those nappy changes in the early hours. Congratulations again ❤️ xx
I'm loving watching your baby updates can't wait to see the nursery 😍 how adorable are the little outfits for bub 🥰 I love your content wether it's about cosy routines, hauls, cooking or the house updates absolutely loving your updates about your new little blessing/pregnancy🤰🏼your going to be such a great mummy so happy for you ☺️ I love the meals you make it gives me inspiration for dinner ideas 😊
Currently watching this with my 6 week old asleep on my chest. As a mum of 3 I’d recommend getting lots of babygrows and vests for 0-3 months, my baby’s been in 2 outfits so far cause it’s just easier having them in babygrows for changes and yessss the zip up ones are amazing! My favourite places for clothes is George at ASDA, Next and H&M
It's so nice to see you so happy. My Son was due on 31st May & came 10 days late. The weather at the time was so hot that he was in nappies & vests for weeks! If I did it again I'd definitely have a variety of clothing for the very unpredictable British weather 😀 xxx
Things to buy: As many vests and babygrows as you can possibly buy, muslins, bibs, scratch mits. I 100000000% advise buying the Tommy tippee prep machine if you are choosing to bottle feed-the single biggest life saver I ever experienced with my twins.....need a bottle in under a minute? You got it perfect temp ready to feed! Honestly can't recommend enough! I would also say that the changing mats are usually plastically for easy cleaning but I got a couple material travel change mats that I still lay on top of the actual mat - the plastic mat is freezing and no one wants a nappy change as it is lol so that helps especially with the middle of the night changes. I also found a back pack style changing bag rather than over the shoulder/buggy which I still use and its honestly amazing! Has a built in bottle warmer and about 20 different pockets for alllllllll the stuff you need lol make sure you pick up hoodied towels too as they are nice and cosy after bath time. Also is hundred acre wood for winnie the pooh 😁😁 loved this whole video, lovely content and so happy you are feeling better, enjoy it!!!😍😍xx
For a newborn plenty of diapers and something on hand for colics. Having the nursery ready helps more than you know. Even though when they are first born they may sleep in a basinet next to you, having the nursery ready to go is amazing. You won't have much time once the baby is born. Helped me with both my children. Oh a baby thermometer, baby robe for after baths. I could go on forever
I would most definitely recommend the zip up sleep suits for newborns.. that's all my son basically wore. You can also buy ones that are open at the bottom and you can tie up, they've become a lot more popular since mine was born and he's only 15 months. There is no point buying anything other than vests or sleep suits in the smaller sizes either
I’m 21 weeks pregnant too also with my first. I’m having a little girl. I’d love to see your videos on your clothes, toys and just anything baby as it really helps me to organise and to find neutral baby bits as I’m obsessed with everything neutral ❤️
Hi Gemma! A tip from a tired mama is to buy lots of sleepers with zippers and preferably 2-way zippers so you only have to take their little bums out to change them and still keep their upper body warm. It will be a life saver for you in the middle of the night ☺️
Hi gemma you look so happy pregnancy suits you, And my cat Bob used to love sitting on my lap when i was pregnant i once asked a vet why all of the sudden my cat wants to sit with me he said cats know and hear the babys heartbeat ahh so sweet, and now my boy and the cat are like best buddies so sweet xxxx
Definitely lots and lots of baby grows I went through loads with my little boy! Also sleep grow bag is really handy and stops baby wriggling about too much during the night while asleep and they can’t kick it off like a blanket! Tk maxx have some lovely baby clothes too! 😉 x
Animals are so intuitive they definitely know bless them.. aw i can't get over your little bump 🥰 you look beautiful as always Gemma.. would love to see a reset video 😊 I realized the other day that you haven't done a cleaning video since you moved into your new home so would love to see a reset, you always help me get motivated 🥰🥰
Congratulations on your pregnancy! You only really need basics for a newborn since they have so many outfit changes. Rompers are cute for summer too. Baby grows with integrated scratch mittens are great, mittens by themselves don’t stay on for long! Supermarket clothes are awesome, Tu at Sainsburys are very good quality. Zara, H&M and Gap have cute baby clothes too. Would love to see a baby haul! 🥰
Hi Gemma, the baby clothes look so lovely. Enjoy these calmer moments before the baby is here. They grow so quickly, and before you know it, they are starting school. My twin daughters will be 21 years old this year, and I look at them and think, where has the time gone. Stay safe, and well, I can't wait for your next vlog
Absolutely nothing wrong with excessive baby clothing! Honestly they get through them SO quickly, I was lucky if mine wore theirs 2-3 times before they grew out of it. I'd definitely recommend bodysuits/sleep suits and rompers by the thousand, it's really hard to keep up laundry wise. I'm so excited to see the nursery, you guys have such a beautiful home, I just know it's going to be the most adorable nursery
Boots have a lovely newborn clothing range, they're really soft and wash up lovely. For summer if it's hot I used to put mine in rompers so they're a bit more dressed up than just a vest but nice and comfy for them
Such an exciting time Gemma and it’s lovely to see you looking so well! My advice for a newborn is to stick to babygros, romper type suits and dungarees…….it helps keep the baby’s nappy in place and they look so cute!
Only just got round to watching this but I’m so excited for you guys! Defo buy baby clothes from supermarkets, especially when they are sick etc! You will be changing the baby a lot so not worth spending lots of money but lots of sleeveless vests for a summer baby 🤍
Looking glowing!! Babygros and lots of them and popper vests are what you will need lots of to start with, never trusted zipped ones in case zip was uncomfortable for baby. My child rearing age has well and truly passed but would enjoy seeing all the little bubba clothes xx
Buy cotton so it is breathable when they sleep. I preferred the poppers that go straight down the middle. The ones that go to the side you have to basically get them fully undressed every nappy change! Stockpile nappies. Best thing we ever did! Dont underestimate how many clothes you will go through. Also get lots of muslins! Useful for so much! Also the sleepsuits with turned up mittens are good to stop themselves scratching their faces with sharp nails.
Just a wee tip. Always get a few sizes up in outfits when there is a sale on and take advantage. I love asda for baby clothes. Wash up better than some of the clothes I got from M and S. They have good sales regularly too. Xx
You look so happy 💖. I think we only used about 3 actual outfits in the first 6 weeks or so, babygrows / and sleep suits are so much easier and look more comfortable. I always think ‘would I prefer to lounge around in a onesie or a party dress?’ 🙈
With my children when they were newborns, they lived in sleep suits. As it’s comfy and easy to change their nappies. I dressed them up a bit more when they were about 2-3 months. But lots of sleep suits, onesies, bodysuits are ideal clothing for newborns. ❤️
Hey Gemma you should get a white noise machine for your newborn, that helped put my daughter to sleep when she was a newborn up to a year old, especially the sound mode that mimics the mom's heartbeat. Don't forget the baby proof stuff for the house as well. Take care and get a lot of sleep while you still can. Much ❤ from Washington, DC.
Here in the U.S. we have baby gowns long sleves and tie at the bottom. So very easy to change the diaper and not wake the baby. Use little whitet-shirts for babys when is cooler helps keep them warmer. Use little sox also when there little. Remember they dont move around so just laying they can get cold. New borns need to be wrapped in a little blanket most of the time. It makes them warm and they will feel secured. There use to being inside you. Dont know if your having a girl or boy but i would suggest alot of matching hair bows if its a girl they look so precious!! I myself would love a video of all your baby buys!!! Im so excited for you! Check on getting a baby company sponsor you that would be fabulous!
Long and short sleeve onesies with zippers are a MUST. Is super easy to change the baby at night! And a few mittens because they will scratch themselves
Supermarket clothes are the best place I’ve always found. H&M & Matalan can also have some lovely bits. I would definitely recommend stocking up on clothes right up to a year old, that’s what I did with mine and honestly it’s the best because you never have to rush out and buy things you’ve always got them x
Hey Gemma loved the video and seeing all the new baby clothes you got I would love to see a full baby clothing haul. The stuff you got are so cute you look amazing take care sweet girl xo
Don’t get zip onesies unless they have double zips, I found it’s better for baby to change nappy from the bottom and then they can stay covered on top xxx
Tilly and teddy definitely know you’re pregnant. Cats have super powerful hearing and can hear things we don’t. They will be able to hear yours and baby’s heartbeat which will be strange to them so that’s why Tilly is all over you!
And dogs too
U got right babe
They can also smell hormone changes and such before a heartbeat even exists.
OMG THE PREGNANCY GLOW IS HERE!! YOU ARE GLOWING, SO HAPPY FOR YOU! ❤
Couldn’t recommend supermarket baby clothes enough! Sleepsuits for newborns especially with zips. Easy to change the baby into & short sleeved baby grows :)
*Hundred acre woods* 🧸🍯
I cannot wait to see this baby!! ❤️

Don't be in too much of a rush and stressed over the nursery. Baby will be in your room for the first 6 months anyway so they won't be using it immediately 😊
Yes! The most I ever did was change nappies in babys room for that first year!!
This is an excellent point!! Very true
Or could be like my daughter who was in my room til she was 3 haha!! Xxx

For a newborn, I would recommend plenty of jumpsuits since they are often soiled and blankets to swaddle your baby
Seeing you in your home and with your baby on the way is so lovely to see, I love it for you so much 🥺 also would LOVE a reset video please x❤️
Yes would love to see a reset day please, so excited for you both a baby is the most precious thing in the world xxxx
Can’t wait to watch this Gemma I hope your okay and the pregnancy is all going well 🤰
It's so nice to see you so happy. My Son was due on 31st May & came 10 days late. The weather at the time was so hot that he was in nappies & vests for weeks! If I did it again I'd definitely have a variety of clothing for the very unpredictable British weather 😀 xxx
Things to buy:
As many vests and babygrows as you can possibly buy, muslins, bibs, scratch mits.
U will find after you've been walking too that your tummy pops and goes hard ..but softens when relaxing 😌 xx
Can you feel the baby kick yet , it’s such a surreal experience 🥰 xx
Animals are so intuitive they definitely know bless them.. aw i can't get over your little bump 🥰 you look beautiful as always Gemma.. would love to see a reset video 😊 I realized the other day that you haven't done a cleaning video since you moved into your new home so would love to see a reset, you always help me get motivated 🥰🥰
i am due with my first baby in july and i would love a baby clothing haul :) loved this video
Awww i just love how your cats love to be with you
Boots have a lovely newborn clothing range, they're really soft and wash up lovely.
The BEST cosy videos 🥰🤍 hope you, bump and Jamie are doing well!! xxx
Aww just love how Tilly and Teddy are so protective of you now that your pregnant. So cosy all of these vlogs of yours Gemma. 😊💕💕
Also the sleepsuits with turned up mittens are good to stop themselves scratching their faces with sharp nails.
the vibes are ✨ immaculate ✨
Just a wee tip. Always get a few sizes up in outfits when there is a sale on and take advantage.
I love asda for baby clothes. Wash up better than some of the clothes I got from M and S. They have good sales regularly too. Xx
You look so happy 💖. I think we only used about 3 actual outfits in the first 6 weeks or so, babygrows / and sleep suits are so much easier and look more comfortable. I always think ‘would I prefer to lounge around in a onesie or a party dress?’ 🙈
What good company teddy is. He is so sweet😻. You are definitely glowing Gemma. I’m so happy for you both and love watching you nesting 🙂
Zip up babygrows for bed / night time. Normal baby grows or vest for newborn day times xx
I get so excited to see your videos pop up! They’re so relaxing and nice to watch! ❤️
Yes yes YESSS to the cleaning/food shop video and obvssss yes to the baby clothes haul 🥺🥺💖💙
Don’t get zip onesies unless they have double zips, I found it’s better for baby to change nappy from the bottom and then they can stay covered on top xxx
