@@RH-cv1rg I understand that. I was referring to not having money to place in any of these instruments as apparently many subscribers to this channel do.
I'm going to sell some of my TLT that is underwater and replace it with TMF to lower my tax burden for the year. I don't need the rates to drop like a rock immediately, but TLT going back to just 100 will make me happy.
i think the long end yields dip but only for a short amount of time and then continue their upward climb. TLT long could be a good short term trade but very short term... long term TLT is a short IMHO. Be careful use stop loss orders to get you out if it goes against you.
I find it encouraging that someone is at least formulating some plan to reduce the national deficit. There is always a curious resistance to positive fiscal change...kinda like years ago when I told my (former) wife she had to stop using credit cards and start living within a set budget or we'd go bankrupt. lol
Enacting large tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico will increase inflation. Interest rates will likely increase not decrease if these tariffs take effect. Let’s wait and see. Stay short in T-bills until we see what happens after January 20th.
It's not a great situation. My dividend stocks and ETFs are at all time highs - I don't want to put more into them with a "correction" looming. But CD and Money Market rates are slipping, slipping. I've got one CD making 5.15% until next July, but the rest of my CDs are maturing in December, February, and rates will probably have fallen more by then.
Love your content but mystified by your reported 1-mo yields when I am buying them at auction every week at around 4.5 yet this is the second show where you are reporting yields at around 4.8. Where are you getting your numbers?
Can you talk about the rates of the 30 and 42 day CMB and maybe how the differ from the normal treasuries? At times I am tracking that the 42 day can have a better trending rate than the normal 4 or 8 week treasury.
Jen, if rates continue to go down, please do some deep dives into "alternative" types of investments that will be paying higher yields than bonds.......i.e., "hard money lending", etc.......thank you.

Please start mentioning preferred stocks. Many IG banks have the $25 ones still below par and yielding over 5%.
Thanks Jennifer and go dive in.
Being an old, poor person, none of this will make much difference for me, but it is fun to watch, listen, and dream. ;-)
It has a big impact on you. Deficit spending with low growth leads to inflation which hits the poor on fixed income the hardest.
@@RH-cv1rg I understand that. I was referring to not having money to place in any of these instruments as apparently many subscribers to this channel do.
I'd like to be hopeful, but we are in a deep hole 40 years in the making. There is no magic wand.
So glad I locked in CD at 5.25 for 5 years
That's hela fine.
Wow… and it isn’t a callable CD???
@ no this was early in 2024 when rates spiked. I knew I hadn’t see rates like these in decades and felt it was a good decision
5.25 for 5 years is not bad at all, I hope you live in a low tax state.
@ I live overseas to escape state tax ❤️
It's always so great and reassuring to get your perspective in these updates! Thank you for taking the time to make them!!!
Loading up on TLT ✌️

We’re already pumping so much oil. Another 3 million barrels probably isn’t happening.
3 3 3 plan will never happen!

I've got one CD making 5.15% until next July, but the rest of my CDs are maturing in December, February, and rates will probably have fallen more by then.
Same predicament. 3 month CDs have higher interest than 6 month to 1 year ones. Going short until interest rates flip to longer duration CDs.
I think the middle of the belly... 5 / 7 years will be the sweet spot. If you are in there somewhere you should be just fine.
Substantial tariffs = increased inflation = higher rates
Guessing any new tariffs will boost inflation.
Love your content but mystified by your reported 1-mo yields when I am buying them at auction every week at around 4.5 yet this is the second show where you are reporting yields at around 4.8. Where are you getting your numbers?
The last time the 4 week was in the 4.8 range was the week of 10-7. 4.834
same question here. last week i bot 4 wk and 8 wk T-bills. The yield i calculated was around 4.56 and 4.495 region.
The treasury secretary has no power to reduce the deficit. He can make suggestions but that's about it.
Appreciate You
Can you talk about the rates of the 30 and 42 day CMB and maybe how the differ from the normal treasuries? At times I am tracking that the 42 day can have a better trending rate than the normal 4 or 8 week treasury.
Yep.Last week they had a 42 day CMB @4.566 and the same day they had a 41 day CMB @ 4.601
How can or does the BRICS impact the US financially?
Could annual bonuses be considered a “tip?”
Jen, if rates continue to go down, please do some deep dives into "alternative" types of investments that will be paying higher yields than bonds.......i.e., "hard money lending", etc.......thank you.
Some people go to Las Vegas.
