Fun facts about Hope at Lollapalooza... -He was the first Korean to headline. -Sundays are usually the lowest selling day, but the moment he was added to the lineup, ticket sales skyrocketed -In the 31-year history of the festival, he outsold any artist -He had the biggest crowd -Before he went on stage he sold over 1 million dollars worth of merch -It was nicknamed "Hobipalooza" -Hope had his merch shop by his stage -There was a plane flying over with a Hope banner -ARMYs camped out early to get in -The crowd was over 90% ARMY -At the other merch shops some people thought ARMY Bomb was a band
Duuuuudddeeee I went to Hobipalooza and since I was dressed up as an Army, all the local people were asking me about Hobi and BTS hahahah and they were all so amazed by the hype over Jhope. It was SO awesome!!!
My absolute favorite moment in Hobipalooza is when he's genuinely surprised by the ARMYs singing "Young wild and free, wild and free" during Daydream. He looks like he's about to cry from gratitude.
Outro: Ego is part of a trilogy that starts with Intro: Persona by RM, continues with Interlude: Shadow by Suga, and concludes with J-Hope’s Outro: Ego. Each song representing one of the 3 parts of the human psyche as theorized by famous psychologist Carl Jung, in his book Map of the Soul. Each song has an amazing music video which explains each part of the Soul. The persona: how other people perceive you, or how you WANT other people to perceive you. The shadow: all of the parts of yourself that you don’t like, or are afraid of, and that you try to supress. And the ego: how you perceive yourself. Carl Jung says that to love yourself and achieve inner peace, you have to accept and embrace all 3 parts of yourself no matter how painful that process is. Their Map of the Soul album, and especially those 3 songs, is BTS trying to painfully reconcile the 3 parts of themselves and teach us to do it too. But Outro: Ego is my happy song and can always cheer me up no matter what kind of a bad mood I’m in.
Thank you for the explanation! I'm going to listen to that album (and those 3 songs) with this in mind to really experience the feeling/message that BTS was trying to convey.
I'm still in awe of j-hope's performance at Hobipalooza. He was born to be a superstar. His work ethic is commendable. I love his j-hope in the box documentary as well.
I dont think you guys realize how crazy the crowd was. I was there. I had non army ppl on my left and right but it didnt matter. His music touched everyone. Best night of my life. I would definitely check out their Map of the Soul ON:E concert next, its an online one but you can see that even without a live audience, they're amazing performers.
so i was there in the 3rd row for this...first of all let me say that although i had to wait for over 12 hours straight with absolutely no sitting down, no bathroom, and no food; it was still the BEST experience of my life. i sound like i'm insane when i tell people this because i've been barricade for multiple bts concerts and even met bts a few times but hobipalooza still took the cake for me. i don't even know how to explain it but it was a MAGICAL experience. and just so y'all know, the staff was actually throwing water on us and handing out water to us all day long while we were waiting for hobi. i was also dead center so i could see jimin perfectly from where i was standing and he was jumping, singing, dancing, and cheering for hobi the entire time it was SO sweet.
our ARMYs are always suffering for 1st floor or outside stadium, They have so much passion Please take care, eat well , drink well, i saw Berlin Concert 2018, many ARMYs fainted during BTS Concert
I have to agree. I've been to 2 BTS concerts but Hobipalooza for some reason hit me harder. I had to stand there under the sun without any hat or sunblock (I was stupid for this) for 8 hours and even if army were respectful some weren't. I was there alone, I don't know how I survived but still one of the best nights of my entire life. Really hard to explain, it was just something else. I still cry a little when I watch the performances lol
You are going to be mind blown. I had tears and all kinds of feelings with every single song and camera angle right from the entry to his exit. Its just powerful. Cant wait to watch your reaction to it.!! I am Hobi Biased but this performance was melting and killing everything.
All of the music critics gave his performance 4 stars. Rolling Stone said it was perfect from beginning to the end. They were amazed at the size of the stage and his ability to constantly be moving, dancing and rapping the entire night. Forbes and Billboard pretty much said the same. I was in tears at various parts of the concert just being so incredibly proud of him. 💜
I was there and it was the most amazing experience! It's funny when you guys said "give them some water" after dynamite because security was passing out water and some snacks to the crowd the whole time, we later found out it was paid for by Hobi. Most of us were out in the scortching heat for over 9 hours waiting for his set to start and he knew that. Yes, he's a literal angel 💜
He always had fans and fan letters. Please refer to the official BTS book. Jimin talks about it, how they all got letters and gifts except V - but only because V was the secret/hidden member. I have photos and evidence that Hobi received fan letters ever since debut. Don't forget that he won a national dance competition at 16 years old and was a popular teenager. And if you're talking about edited 5 second clips that army have taken out of context consider that 1) the vlog. he was talking about the fancafe that day. that day! he didn't say he never ever receives letters. 2)in the video where he's thankful to Jimin for handing out their fan letters. that's all it is. he was thankful. don't believe pity party army edits.
Not just ARMY but other fellow artists are proud of Hobi. And it's because the wonderful man had been ridiculed so much when BTS were starting out. Hobi didn't just make it, he earned it.
1:02:56 After Lollapalooza, Hobi was interviewed on South Korea's SBS radio station. The host said that she wanted him to be on a world tour and asked him if he will do such a show again (because it was physically exhausting), would he be able to do it? Hobi said he can do it because he designed all the details... And I'm sure he can do better and better!
By the way, yes, he was tired, even if he's used to the stamina and performing with BTS, BTS are 7 so the singing AND dancing gets shared since usually not all 7 are singing, they can breathe more effectively, but here it's him alone singing and dancing non-stop and he burned that stage down (arson as they say :P). Glad you enjoyed it! :P
I live in Massachusetts but me and my friends flew into Chicago for lolla and it was my first music festival. I was nervous about standing in such a large crowd but I really wanted to see Hobi on his own live. & I’m so glad that I did because it was amazing and such an experience. He absolutely killed this performance. We all know how amazing BTS are together but this just proves that each one of them individually are absolute superstars on their own as well. Proud of Hobi for being brave and the first to venture out into performing on his own.
I flew to Chicago for the very first time to see Hobi. It was money well spent and an absolute wonderful experience seeing him live (been to 3 BTS concerts). I wanted to be part of history and I'll do it for every single member should they perform at this level.
i was there for hobipalooza about 4-5 rows back and i waited 12+ hours... no bathroom, no breaks, very little food and i was barley breathing since all of us were so close and jam packed together. people were passing out left and right but thankfully there was lots of water being given out. but 12 PLUS HOURS in the sun while also standing the entire time was one of the most hardest and painful things ive ever done. once i got back to the hotel i realized both of my ankles and feet were bruised, i ruptured a few blood vessels in both of my ankles because of the shoes i was wearing, and i could barley even walk. although in the end, it was so so SO worth it. i was there for his Hope World mixtape release and years later i was also there for his Jack in the Box album... i never in my life would have thought i would get to see his solo music live. jhopes solo music will forever be my absolute favorite. his words, his lyrics, his sound, his flow, and just him as a person have ALWAYS meant so much to me. something so special and precious i hold so close to my heart. i waited YEARS and only dreamed of seeing his solo music live. and being there in the crowd cheering him on, screaming every single lyric at the top of my lungs and just absolutely being so happy and unbelievebly proud seeing him up there performing was WOW.. it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. one of the GREATEST OF ALL TIME concerts ive ever been to. i still cant believe it but i will never ever forget it. and watching yalls reaction (ive been watching yalls reactions for a while now) helped me relive my time i had there at hobipalooza. it was so amazing and FUN watching yalls reaction lmao. it makes me so happy seeing other people and new people enjoy and APPRECIATE his music.. because its truly beautiful what his music does for people. i realized yall smiled alot, were dancing, laughing and having such a good time throughout the entire video. that really melted my heart and it was so beautiful to watch. so thank yall again for the AMAZING reaction i loved it OMG (i cried alot while watching too LMAO). BUT STREAM HOPE WORLD AND JACK IN THE BOX
j-hope cemented in this concert he is the KING OF VERSATILITY. His mixtape and album are cohesive. He is the one who could do it all. His showmanship is top tier. No one touches him. He is the one with the discography and energy to deliver this stage. Some have the discography but have no energy or charisma on stage. No many are willing to admit it. He is THE FULL PACKAGE. The true ACE who sings, raps(writes his own verse and flow), produce music and writes his own songs! He is beyond kpop - WORLDCLASS. Also he is the king of freestyle. Dynamite and Hope World are choreographed but that is all him when he does his movements. That’s how comfortable he is on stage .
agree! he's a masterful performer and artist. genius level. The only performer I've ever seen fill as space as intensely live as Hobi was Mick Jagger.... Hobi is a maestro.
Let's not forget about the 12.4 million streams on Hulu... Hobi was beautiful and magnificent💜 it was reported by lollapalooza that they had to turn the crowd volume down. Hobi gave us 19 songs, when he started with Baseline, Cypher, and Ego(the OG army part) I was jumping up n down
Imagine non-Army experiencing Hobi for the first time and have to idea how much of a dancer he really is. I mean, yes, he danced to some choreography but he can pull off more technically challenging choreos. Also, I've never been immensely proud of anyone outside of my family as I was with Hobi! I didn't know what to expect but he blew out my expectations. And then right after this legendary performance, you see the soft side of him on VLive with Jimin. It melted my heart!
I'm so glad you will be reacting to this masterful performance. Before Hope was added to the lineup for Lollapalooza, I had ZERO desire to go. For one, there wasn't anyone I was willing to stand in the sun for hours. The moment he was added, I requested the day off from work way before I even bought tickets. I treated my niece to breakfast at the hotel I work and went headed down the street to Lolla just after it opened. I planned to go in and wait by his stage until he went on. My niece was on the same page as me. 🤗 First, we headed to buy Hope merch (the line was ridiculous) but it moved fast. Close to 1 pm we walked to the stage. There were already so many people. It was my first time going so I was pleasantly surprised to see a sea of ARMYs. It was so freaking hot. People were falling out from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Remember, there aren't any chairs so you're standing or sitting in the grass all day. As each performer ahead of Hope took the stage the anticipation and excitement increased rapidly. Once one artist fandom left, ARMY made their way closer to the stage. Hope was supposed to go on at 9 pm, but a notice flashed on the scene saying 8:50 pm (10 extra minutes 🤗). It was finally dark and all the ARMY bombs were out, including mine. And the crowd started chanting "j-hope, j-hope...". The moment he popped from the box, I lost it. I'm not one to dance or scream for anything, but I screamed so loud and was hoarse far before the second half. This was my first in-person concert for anything BTS. The music was loud and the energy was something I had never experienced. The vibration from the speakers even made my clothes dance. I was surrounded by ARMY for the first time in my life and I will never forget the bond I felt. Hope was PHENOMENAL! He commanded the stage in a way I never seen before. He always gives his all in the performances I've watched online, but this was different. The nerves didn't show at all and he came out with a look on his face like, " I got this". The power in his voice echoed through the crowd and he rapped with so much conviction. He could have easily had background music playing and performed with that, but he added a live band. An element that you don't realize you're missing until you see it put together. That addition made his set one to be remembered forever. I now wish he releases a "Jack in the Box" live band addition. It made the album hit the next level for me. His movements to the words added an intense theatrical feel. AMAZING, STUNNING, SENSATIONAL...all good words to describe this man on stage. Let me finish by saying this...I drank my last sip of water and used the restroom at 11 am. I refuse to drink anything when I arrived at Lolla because I didn't want to lose my spot. The heat was extreme and I stood squished between over 100,000 people. I never sat down the whole time. I stood out there for 11 hours. I became hoarse, got an unwanted suntan, sore legs, and numb toes. There isn't an artist on this planet that I'd ever go through that again for UNLESS it's our boys. GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!
I was so unbelievably impressed and proud of him for mostly speaking in English. I know he must’ve been practicing that over and over, and he killed it!! 💜
I was so blown away after this performance. His nerves must have been incredible. The amount of preparation, practice, thought, craft that went into it…and when he killed it like that, I just felt like crying. I’m so proud of him and happy that he was able to express himself and show off his music. The breath control, the diction, the energy, the stage presence and charisma…j-hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope 💜 This was really fun to experience with you guys.
I watched this by myself on Hulu. It was so much more fun watching with you guys. Hobi is not only a great musician but a phenomenal performer. JHope is so very brave for this and I’m so grateful to Hobi for gifting us with some earlier work. Thank you!
He met J Cole too. Hobi headlined that night and sold out, he had the highest sales. Jimin came over a few days earlier before he recorded for his album so he could encourage Hobie. Online youtube after the show... like they always do, you could see how happy Hobie was that Jimin showed up. Jimin had to get him to eat because he was a nervous and Jimin gave him comfort. When you watch this video Jimin is up in the top seating the left of the screen overlooking the stage. Every once in a while Hobster looks up to see Jimin. I love the comraderie, and being the first member out of the shoot encouragement from the members is needed. Love you J&J, thanks for reacting.
Honestly, I had the best night of my life when I went. I remember how hyped everyone was for Hobi...and since I was on the barricades I got up close. I still can't get over how some Army's kept passing around free BTS merchandise to random Army's (I did the same). Even security was handing out free J-Hope merchandise. One of the security guards handed me a bunch of J-hope banners to pass around, and I got so scared because everyone started grabbing them like wild hyenas so he quickly snatched it back from me and passed it around himself (I still managed to get one myself tho lol). J-Hope also had his own Aerial Banner flying over Lolla; but no one noticed it at first so I pointed it out for everyone too see because I thought it was so cool. Also, something I didn't realize until much later (as I stuck on the barricade) is I didn't fully register situation. I had no clue about the actual compacity of Hobi's performance because I couldn't see behind me. The only thing I remember was the crowd being super loud but I thought it was just normal for a BTS concert. So I had no clue he had made history with the most ticket sold Lolla. So this just goes to show how we've become so desensitized (probably the wrong wording) to BTS being historic. We're so used to them breaking records as if it's an everyday, normal thing when it's actually not. Edit: btw love the honest reactions
I was there! It was amazing! I'm still relishing the fact that I was there! Me and some other ARMY'S made friends with Lolla staff too. The looks on their faces when Hobi blew up the stage. At first they didn't understand why we were there all day and never seen anything like this before in Lolla history, but once Hobi blew up the stage they understood why we would be there all day in the hot sweltering sun for our MAN! It was WORTH it! Their looks were priceless and at the end they had mad respect for not only ARMY, but for Hobi. It was such an adrenaline rush the whole time. My heart is thumping really loud again and I'm so glad both of you have seen Hobi's legendary stage.
This show was an experience, even for those who couldn't make it in person. It was the first time I got to see many of my favorite songs performed live. Jhope's stage presence has always been one of his strongest assets, the man took the night.
I was there and really close to the barricade. Lemme just say that it's the best solo show I've ever been to. His energy was insane and the crowd matched it! You can really tell how much effort he put into the show and he performed each song so close to each other back to back. I'll never forget it🥹 I lost my voice for like a week after haha.
I may or may not have been watching from my living room, jumping up and down with my ARMY bomb. My kids thought I lost my damn mind. I absolutely did. If I ever had any doubts before (which I didn't), Hobi is an absolute Rockstar. Hands down, he killed it.
When I first saw this performance the only thing I could say was "oh my gosh J-Hope" he's such a talented artist and there's nothing like the energy that he brings to the stage. He's so well known for his dancing and I was very curious about how he would perform some of these songs. Aside from his Jack In The Box album, the newest song was Outro Ego which was released on Map Of The Soul 7 in 2020 and had only been performed once before during an online concert with no fans due to the pandemic. Back in 2019 J-Hope became the first and still to this day only artist to soak me with water cannons during Just Dance. I was hoping and praying that he would bring back Just Dance for Hobipalooza because it was such a hard song to say goodbye to, all of the Love Yourself solos were. You always have to expect the unexpected from J-Hope and the rest of the BTS members because just when you think you know what they're going to do, they change something. While videos and livestreams are very close, there's nothing like being there in person and seeing this happen live.
As great as the performance was, it made us realise how talented they are individually! No wonder BTS breaks all sorts of records when they go together. Talking about JHope, he is a great artist, a rapper, a singer, a dancer, a performer and most importantly he is actually a great human being. He truly is a ray of sunshine.
Jhope was amazing for this. Ugh imagine how nervous he was, the first time ever performing WITHOUT the group in front of THOUSANDS of people, I just can'ttt. Hands down to his energy
I spoke with someone who worked at the festival, and he said that a record breaking 104,000 tickets were sold for all of the Sunday performances, plus some who had bought 4 day passes for the entire festival. They were spread out throughout the 4 stages during J-hope's performance and he said the the majority were at J-hope's stage hands down! He estimated about 65,000+. Huge!!! 💜💜💜💜💜 Green Day also had a good chunk. (Remember that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas where the BTS concerts were held has a capacity of 65,000.) I know he pays tribute to him on his album, so I believe the first face photo on the stage during "What If" is Ol' Dirty Bastard from Wu Tang Clan. Also, "Baseline" and "Hangsang" as well as most songs in the second half are from his mixtape "Hope World". Have you reacted go it yet? GREAT reaction you guys!!! 💜💜💜💜💜
Fueron incluso más, hay una parte oscura muy grande en la parte de atrás del público que no está iluminado y iba creciendo, hoseok atrajo locales, vieron impacto y causó curiosidad
Speaking to your discussion of songs hitting especially hard, one of the amazing (dare I say truly magical) things about BTS’ music is that a lot of it gets better the more you listen and engage. There are definitely songs of theirs that I just loved from first listen, but there are even more that I grew to love that now hit just as hard for me. It’s music that has enough depth to stick with and grow with you, take on new meanings and elicit new feelings, and continually teach you something about yourself and the world around you. 💜
so true and that is what RM was aiming for. he always said he wanted to make music that gets better the more you listen. he achieved that and more. i hope jordan are right about RM performing next in dec on another festival.
I am blessed to have been there to experience that amazing performance by JHope. It was extremely hot and humid but everyone there was there to support Hobi and stayed til the very end. Hobi was the last performance of the night and thanks to the staffs for their kindness for passing out waters to everyone there. It was a night I will never forget.
I have all the emotions about this it just makes me tear up…🥹he has made it so far in the group and solo and he can’t stop shining more and more…He proved everyone wrong and showed them he has literal pure talent in him and i dont only feel every thing but i feel more than just proud knowing i stan this group of boys who individually have so much talent and charisma and such a great personality❤️❤️❤️❤️🫶 Hobi will always keep shining and glowing everywhere he steps foot in❤️
I was waiting behind the stage because my twin girls were at the concert. The crowd was soooo loud! The energy was off the charts! I was watching live on Hulu on someone's phone. We saw Jimin take off on a golf cart to watch the show. Army was swarming the fence behind the stage. It was a party even outside the grounds. I am so glad I was nearby for this historic moment! So proud of Hobi!! Even the Chicago cops that were there for crowd control were amazed and talking about the show. He changed Lolla forever. Hope he comes back!!
I attended Hobipalooza. I was winded by the third song (by just cheering for him and singing along the parts I know). It explains why j-hope was practicing like crazy. It takes a lot of stamina to rap, sing, and dance ~19 songs 😍
This is probably my 25th time watching Hobipalooza from start to finish. No regrets. Hobi was born for the stage. His presence and his charisma are out of this world.
also someone might have mentioned this already but army outside of the us were almost 15 million to watch it live together on Weverse, IMAGINE how many people watched it and cheered for Hobi at the same time T.T
This whole performance was iconic ! He set the bar so high!!! I’m glad you both experienced the duality/versatility and amazing stage presence Hobi has!
And as for Outro: Tear, you guys will 100% feel just as, if not crazier than you did with EGO. It's an amazing song but, please, you have to watch it live as well (if you want). To me, it's a packaged deal, because the energy the rapline puts into the performance and how passionate they are will make you appreciate it 1000 times more, they left their hearts and souls on that stage, especially J-Hope. I've watched more times than I can count and I'm positive I'll watch it even more.
I WAS WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS REACTION!!! I actually went to Hobipalooza and was able to be 1 row away from barricade. I got there like at 6-6:30a and there were already like 100-200 people in line (some people camped out). We didn't get into the festival until 11a so you can imagine lol but you could feel the energy even then! Hobi did soundcheck while we were lined up and you'd think he was performing in front of us, all the security staff was blown away. Once the gates opened, we actually ran towards the stage. A LOT of the people that went to see Hobi were there HOURS before his set (it was very hot and crowded and you really couldn't leave your spot to go to the bathroom or eat because you wouldn't have been able to get back) so army did AMAZING! This is the first time I'm seeing the performance since seeing it live and believe me when I say that the recording doesn't do justice to the energy that was felt there. It was truly one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced! Hobi was born to perform. I don't even have words to describe it, he took them all away. He's just an amazing artist and human being. I felt like I was gonna d!3 after he was done, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat for him or any of the other tannies!
Blue side is longer than what he played. It’s a beautiful song, probably my favorite by him. When I’m just having a bad day and need some chill music, Blue Side is my go to. It just puts your mind at ease. You should definitely check out the full version 💜
I am putting a comment here b4 I even start the video. I want you two to know how much this means to me to have you all to end the day with. Today I cried a lot. My anxiety nearly crippled me and life in general was too much to bare to even try and breath. But getting a notification that a reaction vid from you two loaded today AND it’s hobipalooza, I smiled, then laughed out loud with the last of my tears rolling down my face for the small blessings in life named Jared and Jordan.
Jimin was actually backstage up on some scaffolding with their managers and a few other people. They had a bird's eye view! This was a Tropical version of Dynamite with new choreo. The dancers are a famous troupe called "The Lab".💜 The amazing blonde woman in a pink shirt is Sienna Lalau who famously choreographed "ON" Kinetic Manifesto at age 19 which received a VMA MTV award for Best Choreography. (Her face is the first you see at the beginning of "ON" holding the drumsticks.)
EGO is part of the map of the soul album. There is an order and meaning to the songs. Persona comes first then Shadow and then Ego. RM, Suga and Jhope all do solo for each. There is an explanation to each song on DKDKTV. The whole album based on Carl Jung map of the soul book.
Hangsang originally was released with a verse rapped by Supreme Boy. When you said he was resting his voice that may be true but he did announce it as Supreme Boy's verse, At other points of the concert he also credited the original artists in different ways. BTW there are attendance limits as this is an urban festival.
This video came out just in time for me to pre occupy my mind. I had a procedure done and was in a lot of pain. I just focused on your reactions and Hobi and felt more at ease. So thank you for what you do.💜
You said it, the pressure of being a headliner and it's your first concert alone... Yikes, he was awesome. First Korean to headline. Since he has to carry the entire performance he paces himself... which he always taught the members when they did concerts J-Hopes concert and Jack In the Box cover is filled with color and Kaws art. He wears gloves like the Kaws hands and the way his pants are full at the bottom too, but gloves probably also holds the mic firmly during performance... don't miss that little references to his love for Kaws art. He was invited to the Kaws museum and bought more. He and RM love Kaws art... RM has probably every one Kaws created... crazy, right?
I bought the ticket but wasn't able to go. But I'm glad i saw it live on Hulu. It waS amazing I kicked my butt so many time that i didn't go. This festival was one of a kind. Im so proud of Jhope...I'm not missing anymore solo festival nor concerts from now on .
This is why I sooo love Hope World 💜 And I'm so proud of him that he's able to perform this live! Outro Ego is justttt 🥰😍💜🥰😍💜 Just dance is also a fave 💜💜💜
Honestly i dont understand why im feeling so emotional right now while watching hobipalooza again. All the feels when i watched this for the first time just come kicking. I'm so PROUD of Hobi. Amazing is an understatement of his talent! He ate the whole stage! He is the HOPE! I'm so proud and thankful of all the ARMYS and the audience who give him this overwhelming support. 💜 The fanchants and screams just give me chills. Thank you so much Jared&Jordan for reacting to Hobipalooza! 💜💜💜
I cried. I was maniacal laugh crying. My chest swelled with pride. I was blown away every 3 seconds. Imagine this. Alone in my living room. Everyone else hiding in their own rooms as I dance sway pace the entirety of my living spaces screamsinging blasting it so loud. I loved this reaction I love you guys love ARMY JHOPE BTS AHHH thanks for the chance to relive this.
I was in my living room with my ARMY bomb, trying to get closer to the tv! He looked unreal! He made me cry and scream and gasp. I took pictures of the tv as if I was at a live show! I loved him before, now I just love him even more💜 He deserves everything he’s ever dreamed of.
Woah! I had such a blast. This was my first time watching the complete perf and damn I loved solo Jhope. I enjoyed this concert with my snacks in the comfort of my couch 💜
Love your guys’ reaction. I watched his set live on Hulu. Even though I was not there in person to watch him believe me I was hyped, dancing & singing at home as if I was there. J-hope is no doubt a great performer & very talented.
I'm so proud of him, I cried a lot during his whole performance. It's one of the best things in the world seeing a person you admire with your whole heart being so happy and achieving so much
Thanks so much for the amazing reaction guys (!), doing the whole thing and not pausing (well almost...ha). If you watch the Vlive by Jhope/Jimin right after his performance at Lolla, you will understand why he thought he was going to 'die' and why he had so many "schedules" driven by fear. It's very sweet and brings his process to the forefront. 💜
Thanks so much Keziban! Haha.. we had to rewind for Outro : Ego... could not let that magic pass by. And we actually watched the VLIVE on our patreon! It was very wholesome!! Thank you for your comment 💜 patreon.com/jaredandjordanbts
He SLAYED. So talented🔥 and you guys are so on point with the inhale - exhale rhythm… the build ups are breathtaking but the exhales allow for integration!!! I’m in owe.
Just Dance is special especially when he performed it (i think it was in Rosebowl) during their Love Yourself tour, ARMY chanted his name so loud, it really surprised him, I think he didn't expected it, it's a precious moment for ARMY to see his surprised face, for him to realize that he's well loved and appreciated... And now we saw his surprised face again during Daydream, so I really appreciated those ARMYs that came and sang with him in this performance, I think it lessened his nervousness
Blue Side is my favorite song from Jhope Hope World mixtape (even thou it's not the full song). Jhope then later released the full song and it is a MUST check out!!!
I AM BEYOND PROUD OF HOBI 😭😭😭😭 idk how many times ive watch this performance. fyi, there were 15 MILLIONS of ppl who watched this live on weverse til the app crashed several times! crazy crazy day it was indeed
Yayyyy I was waiting for a reaction from y’all to this. I told u hobi killed this performance as solo 👏🏾👏🏾he was so nervous but he did it so well. The army and Jimin was there to support him. His performance was definitely mind blowing 😆
Fun facts about Hope at Lollapalooza...
-He was the first Korean to headline.
-Sundays are usually the lowest selling day, but the moment he was added to the lineup, ticket sales skyrocketed
-In the 31-year history of the festival, he outsold any artist
-He had the biggest crowd
-Before he went on stage he sold over 1 million dollars worth of merch
-It was nicknamed "Hobipalooza"
-Hope had his merch shop by his stage
-There was a plane flying over with a Hope banner
-ARMYs camped out early to get in

Duuuuudddeeee I went to Hobipalooza and since I was dressed up as an Army, all the local people were asking me about Hobi and BTS hahahah and they were all so amazed by the hype over Jhope. It was SO awesome!!!
That's awesome! I hope you had an amazing time ARMY, you deserve it 💜
and let’s not forget the fact that he had 14.92 million people who watched him on weverse livestream 🔥
Plus another 10mill on Hulu?
I was on Hulu and we never got the numbers on how many of us watched there
plus persons who were watching on tik tok that persons were live
I was one of them and was cursing Weverse because it couldn't accommodate the 14.92 million people watching simultaneously
Yep, and people like me who ended watching someone else’s livestream because Weverse kept crashing.
My absolute favorite moment in Hobipalooza is when he's genuinely surprised by the ARMYs singing "Young wild and free, wild and free" during Daydream. He looks like he's about to cry from gratitude.
You used the correct word - he COMMANDS the stage. 100% professional performer.
I agree! Love Hobi!
Thank you for the explanation! I'm going to listen to that album (and those 3 songs) with this in mind to really experience the feeling/message that BTS was trying to convey.
@@mrgibgib Yes MOTS 7 to me is Grand finale of BTS chapter 1. Amazing Album.
This would make a great great reaction! Your explanation was spot on
Well done! You explained it so well! 👏💜
“He’s standing in it!” WoW. I cried. It’s his safe zone indeed. Our ultimate performer! Congrats Hobi, you slayed it.
I'm still in awe of j-hope's performance at Hobipalooza. He was born to be a superstar. His work ethic is commendable. I love his j-hope in the box documentary as well.
Another reason to watch hobipalooza for the 20th time
Sameee
I watched this performance uncountable times and i will watch every reaction video of it too.
Me!!!!
I even can't count how many times i watch it
Agreed! Seen the whole thing a bunch of times and the set of Baseline, Cypher and Hangsang! I love it! I can never tire of it
I dont think you guys realize how crazy the crowd was. I was there. I had non army ppl on my left and right but it didnt matter. His music touched everyone. Best night of my life. I would definitely check out their Map of the Soul ON:E concert next, its an online one but you can see that even without a live audience, they're amazing performers.
so i was there in the 3rd row for this...first of all let me say that although i had to wait for over 12 hours straight with absolutely no sitting down, no bathroom, and no food; it was still the BEST experience of my life. i sound like i'm insane when i tell people this because i've been barricade for multiple bts concerts and even met bts a few times but hobipalooza still took the cake for me. i don't even know how to explain it but it was a MAGICAL experience. and just so y'all know, the staff was actually throwing water on us and handing out water to us all day long while we were waiting for hobi. i was also dead center so i could see jimin perfectly from where i was standing and he was jumping, singing, dancing, and cheering for hobi the entire time it was SO sweet.
so happy for you! that sounds so fun omg
our ARMYs are always suffering for 1st floor or outside stadium, They have so much passion
Please take care, eat well , drink well,
i saw Berlin Concert 2018, many ARMYs fainted during BTS Concert
I have to agree. I've been to 2 BTS concerts but Hobipalooza for some reason hit me harder. I had to stand there under the sun without any hat or sunblock (I was stupid for this) for 8 hours and even if army were respectful some weren't. I was there alone, I don't know how I survived but still one of the best nights of my entire life. Really hard to explain, it was just something else. I still cry a little when I watch the performances lol
Goshh this feels like the kind of memory that you will always remember for the rest of your life! 😭🤍🤍
You are going to be mind blown. I had tears and all kinds of feelings with every single song and camera angle right from the entry to his exit. Its just powerful. Cant wait to watch your reaction to it.!! I am Hobi Biased but this performance was melting and killing everything.
You are spot on Gladys!! POWERFUL... Thanks for watching!
5 stars..
Hobi encapsulated damn near every single genre of Lollapalooza Single-handedly. I've rarely been so fiercely proud of another human being ❤️🔥
So proud of Hobi ,remember the times he felt he had no fan 😭😭and look at this now 😉😉
Just Amazing ,Hardwork + talent + heart = HOBIPALOOZA
@@kellzie 🤯😯the universe has a way to do things smh
Вы правы💞
1:02:56 After Lollapalooza, Hobi was interviewed on South Korea's SBS radio station. The host said that she wanted him to be on a world tour and asked him if he will do such a show again (because it was physically exhausting), would he be able to do it? Hobi said he can do it because he designed all the details...
And I'm sure he can do better and better!
Even jimin told him to do world tour
By the way, yes, he was tired, even if he's used to the stamina and performing with BTS, BTS are 7 so the singing AND dancing gets shared since usually not all 7 are singing, they can breathe more effectively, but here it's him alone singing and dancing non-stop and he burned that stage down (arson as they say :P).
Glad you enjoyed it! :P
An year passed... Still can't get over HOBIPALOOZA ... NEVER EVER GONNA GET OVER IT 🕺🔥💯
I live in Massachusetts but me and my friends flew into Chicago for lolla and it was my first music festival.
We had a young kid behind us whose bias was Hobi he was so thrilled it was so wholesome 😭 we danced with him and made sure he could see the stage
@@douseenow OMG there were multiple little kids there it was so cute.
finally an Massachusetts friend. Glad u was there.
Omg an ma army, i was there too i had so much fun
I flew to Chicago for the very first time to see Hobi. It was money well spent and an absolute wonderful experience seeing him live (been to 3 BTS concerts). I wanted to be part of history and I'll do it for every single member should they perform at this level.
Same 🤧 there is no way I was going to miss the first time he did a stage my himself if I could go
i was there for hobipalooza about 4-5 rows back and i waited 12+ hours... no bathroom, no breaks, very little food and i was barley breathing since all of us were so close and jam packed together. people were passing out left and right but thankfully there was lots of water being given out. but 12 PLUS HOURS in the sun while also standing the entire time was one of the most hardest and painful things ive ever done. once i got back to the hotel i realized both of my ankles and feet were bruised, i ruptured a few blood vessels in both of my ankles because of the shoes i was wearing, and i could barley even walk. although in the end, it was so so SO worth it. i was there for his Hope World mixtape release and years later i was also there for his Jack in the Box album... i never in my life would have thought i would get to see his solo music live. jhopes solo music will forever be my absolute favorite. his words, his lyrics, his sound, his flow, and just him as a person have ALWAYS meant so much to me. something so special and precious i hold so close to my heart. i waited YEARS and only dreamed of seeing his solo music live. and being there in the crowd cheering him on, screaming every single lyric at the top of my lungs and just absolutely being so happy and unbelievebly proud seeing him up there performing was WOW.. it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. one of the GREATEST OF ALL TIME concerts ive ever been to. i still cant believe it but i will never ever forget it. and watching yalls reaction (ive been watching yalls reactions for a while now) helped me relive my time i had there at hobipalooza. it was so amazing and FUN watching yalls reaction lmao. it makes me so happy seeing other people and new people enjoy and APPRECIATE his music.. because its truly beautiful what his music does for people. i realized yall smiled alot, were dancing, laughing and having such a good time throughout the entire video. that really melted my heart and it was so beautiful to watch. so thank yall again for the AMAZING reaction i loved it OMG (i cried alot while watching too LMAO).

Отличный отзыв. 🥰💞
wow❤❤❤❤❤
j-hope cemented in this concert he is the KING OF VERSATILITY.
Hobi gave us 19 songs, when he started with Baseline, Cypher, and Ego(the OG army part) I was jumping up n down
You guys got 🤯 by his breaks, remember that he’s a dancer first, he’ll always put dance breaks on his songs. Our King of everything that is awesome. 💜
First, we headed to buy Hope merch (the line was ridiculous) but it moved fast.
WOW .. what an experience. So happy you get to watch Hobi real live n realtime. So sure its worth it n an experience of a life time🤩

I was so unbelievably impressed and proud of him for mostly speaking in English. I know he must’ve been practicing that over and over, and he killed it!! 💜
THIS. This is why J-HOPE is my bias.
I was so blown away after this performance. His nerves must have been incredible. The amount of preparation, practice, thought, craft that went into it…and when he killed it like that, I just felt like crying. I’m so proud of him and happy that he was able to express himself and show off his music. The breath control, the diction, the energy, the stage presence and charisma…j-hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope 💜

Jhope is a total performer...he deserves to be in lollapalooza...it's his time to shine brighter than ever💜💜💜
HOBIPALOOZA is so freakin' epic. Hobi deserves all the best in life. He's magnificent on stage, and a true sunshine off stage.
(Remember that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas where the BTS concerts were held has a capacity of 65,000.)
I know he pays tribute to him on his album, so I believe the first face photo on the stage during "What If" is Ol' Dirty Bastard from Wu Tang Clan.
Also, "Baseline" and "Hangsang" as well as most songs in the second half are from his mixtape "Hope World". Have you reacted go it yet?
GREAT reaction you guys!!! 💜💜💜💜💜

EGO is also my favorite from him. It never fails to put me in a good mood. But, the song also has a deeper meaning behind that happy melody.
Oh my gosh, it happens to me too so many times with the BTS songs!

OMG. I 💜 U! I was there. Hobi bias. Best night of my life.
Jhope's energy was perfect for the festival...Hands down 🙌!!!
I can’t get tired of watching his concert. He was fantastic, mesmerizing and energetic. He’s the love of my life.
The sunshine 🥰 I can't get enough of him
I watched Hobipallooza for many times and I can't get enough
When u know the songs well enough... ALL the songs will hit you.
59:28 he actually referred to "more" here since in the lyrics he also sings "yeah i'm thirsty". he was just very playful haha
Blue side is longer than what he played. It’s a beautiful song, probably my favorite by him. When I’m just having a bad day and need some chill music, Blue Side is my go to. It just puts your mind at ease. You should definitely check out the full version 💜

EGO is part of the map of the soul album. There is an order and meaning to the songs. Persona comes first then Shadow and then Ego. RM, Suga and Jhope all do solo for each. There is an explanation to each song on DKDKTV. The whole album based on Carl Jung map of the soul book.
I lost count how many times I’ve watched this. I’m amazed every time I do. Can’t wait to see what you think! 💜
LOL me too
Hangsang originally was released with a verse rapped by Supreme Boy.
So thank you for what you do.💜
So so happy to hear this Shelley! Glad we could help today 💜💜 we wish you well!
This whole performance is EPIC, LEGENDARY, AND BEAUTIFUL 😍 I'm proud of J-Hope! He shined and received all the love he deserves ❤️
I lost count of how many times I have watched this whole performance....this is a legendary performance...loved ur reaction.. BORAHAE 💜
Outro Ego is justttt 🥰😍💜🥰😍💜
Just dance is also a fave 💜💜💜
I've watched this about 1000 times and I'm still smiling.. WTH.
The fanchants and screams just give me chills. Thank you so much Jared&Jordan for reacting to Hobipalooza! 💜💜💜
Piece of peace is a piece of art. I love and admire Hobi. Thanks you gentlemen, amazing reaction as always!
My first time seeing your reaction to Hobipalooza , I love it when you guys are singing along 💜🤞

J-Hope 🥹. I am in actual tears . This man means so much to me, reading the lyrics again while watching this just made me break down
Hey guys, Blue Side is much longer than the version here. I definitely recommend it for a chill mood.
Thank You, Thank you! Watching this again with you made it more magical, I teared up!!!! You guys are the best ever ❤️ 💜👏
He SLAYED. So talented🔥 and you guys are so on point with the inhale - exhale rhythm… the build ups are breathtaking but the exhales allow for integration!!! I’m in owe.
HOBIPALOOZA ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Hobi is our energizer bunny...maximum energy ..doesn't run out of steam! Just keeps going
