A small boat with its own small engine in the Philippines only cost $300 or P15000. Should you decide to buy, you will always have free fish, plus you give a FISHERMAN or 2, a source of livelihood. Hope you give this serious thought.

San Juan is touristy, but the capital is Siquijor & Larena - the busy part of the Island, commercial centers. If you want to go groceries and have more options to buy the two are your options, including Banks & ATMs availability.
Lazi, Maria and Enrique Villanueva are the quiet half of the Island, especially Enrique Villanueva.
From/To Cebu, From/To Bohol and From/To Plaridel (bigger Vessel/RoRo) is in Larena port (if it's already back to normal or before the pandemic/lockdown).

As I lived 3 years on Siquijor I can answer some things more clearly - but of course as well, personal perspective.
1. Siquijor has no hospital where they can treat serious stuff 👎. If you have life danger accident or whatever = you‘ll die. The old hospital - I not even would go there if I‘ll die - it’s a disgusting place. The new hospital is just a building - not in operating and at the end - no good technology there or skilled people - you need to go Dumaguete or Cebu for serious things (but if emergency - forget it - you won’t make it there).
2. Pubs/Bars? Don’t expect what you have in mind when you think on that. Get Wrecked is ok but …. same Same but different 😉.
3. Yoga, yes there is someone who offers Yoga Sessions in Mountain of Peace
4. seems like only one of you likes it after 4 years there and someone would like to go, better today than tomorrow but with PH Passport, if existing, not easy or impossible outside ASEAN = marriage first and go through a hell of paperwork or … online, if this works really out 🤔

We been in Boracay before it"s ok, but now so expensive specially hotel . In Thailand (Pataya) like Boracay is not so expensive. Oh! Ja, Marecar i'm happy for you if you want to go in Poland and perhaps you stay thier to look what life in Europa specially in Poland, every where not the same persoon. I have visited a little bit of Laguna on my first trip to the Philippines. I used to work with a member of the Escudero family here in the US and he insisted that I visit his family's resort. So I took my sweetheart (now my wife) and her family for a lovely trip to Villa Escudero and it was wonderful, I highly recommend it to anyone.
Hi! Actually it's not all same. Some of the Filipino do the skin tax but mostly are not. Even if I do the shopping (MARICAR) Nothing change.
