    In this video I will be showing you how I installed these universal wireless steering wheel controllers. The first part of the video. I explain about the wires and how to connect them. In the second scene of the video. I demonstrate what I do with the key 1 and key 2 wires and connect them to my stereo key 1 wire. Finally, in the last section of the video. I show you how everything works and you want to test everything before assembling all your car back together.
    Explanation how to connect wires
    If your custom car stereo has key 1 wire only…then you connect key 1 and key 2 to your only key 1 wire from your custom stereo…
    If your custom car stereo has key 1 and key 2 wires…..then you connect key 1 to key 1 stereo and key 2 to key 2 stereo.
    After you get to this part it remains only two wires left. The red wire known as ACC wire and the black wire known as GND wire. You will connect those onto the back of your wire harness. Your wire harness should have a red wire and two black wires. You can solder and strip them down and butt plug them as well. But I just prefer to push it in and shake the wire harness to test if it will fall out or not. Any questions feel free to ask me. I love to reply and help others. I will reply back within 24-48 hours.

    My deck has a brown wire labeled key1, but also an AV plug. I used the AV plug and nothing happened, is that because I need to figure out programming or because I should be using key1 wiring. Deck doesn't have a key2 but the Scosche harness does. - 05 GM - Scosche SWC interface

    How do you determine which wire is key 1 or key 2 on the vehicle harness?

    You need someone to hold the camera for you since you are explaining how to do something while we are looking at your knee or the floorboard. Its quite simple.

    Hi, I bought an ALLOMN unit to use with a pioneer DHM-C2550NEX. The Pioneer takes the universal 3 pole 3.5mm cable that most steering wheel control adapters use, however the ALLOMN already outputs using key1 key2 and GND, so what should I do? Does anyone know which pole goes to which signal?

    • @shuvang
      @shuvang  4 роки тому

      megakiller999 It varies on your stereo. How many key wires does it have? if it has two then each one goes separately and if it only has one. Then you put then both on the same key wire on your stereo.

    • @megakiller999

      @@shuvang my point is actually that the stereo doesn't have Key1 and key2. It has a 3 pole 3.5mm port (an AUX port essentially) to take SW controls. My old head unit had key1 and key2 and GND and came with a 3.5mm port you could wire it to for OEM adapters, so I know that the 3.5mm port takes key1, key2, and GND, but I don't know which pole goes where.

      Yeah if it doesn't have any key wires. I don't think it can work.

    Hello, my car has control buttons on steering wheel. I would like to install Sony wx-920 model on May car. Do I have to buy one of these contollers? Is that gadget used only for volume/seek controlling or does it have extra functions? Thank you

    • @shuvang

      Mahmut Kayaaltı The buttons can be used for anything. They just put the icons there for references. As long as your car stereo have the key1 or key2 wire. It should work it’s universal.

    I have a cheap 2din jvc in my car - the volume is with capacitive buttons and it is not easy to use for many reasons. I want to buy a universal steering wheel control for that reason. It gives 1cable for steering control. I didnt get how you connected yours except the wires in the harness. Is it wireless? Please give me a link with one that will fit for sure. Thank you

    • @shuvang
      @shuvang  5 років тому

      naruhina908 It’s your wiring for sure. Make sure you solder or crimped them properly. Mine is working perfectly since day 1 installed. I’ve drove 120+ and the remote still work fine even driving at that speed..

    So I ended up buying the updated version of this steering wheel control, and I was able to get them to work for a few days until it stopped working. I'll look back at see how I installed it and see if anything may have come loose or if the battery just died after a week lol, but I just want to verify that for the ACC and ground, you just inserted the wires to the back of the wiring harness? Nothing else? I'm afraid to splice directly into the wires for more direct contact, so this is the primary way you suggest without cutting the cars' wires?

    • @shuvang
      @shuvang  3 роки тому

      I was sure I responded to this. Yes, this is the way to do it without splicing. I just push the red and black into the aftermarket stereo and you can crimp or electrical tape the keys 1&2 to the key 1 aftermarket stereo wire.

  • @naruhina908
    @naruhina908 5 років тому

    Hello again. I found your video you directed me to in your initial unit review. Did you decide to buy a universal remote so you didn't have to cut into the original wires or is it just not possible to retain the original controls on the steering wheel?

    • @shuvang
      @shuvang  5 років тому +1

      I think it is possible to do it with the stock one, but you won't have as much buttons. But it's much easier to do it the way I demonstrated it in the video. Took like 5 minutes at most to do it.

      Varies upon your aftermarket stereo. Some aftermarket stereos also don’t have a wireless function for custom steering wheels using key 1 & key 2.
