They are often mistaken for a mixed breed of Rottweiler and German shepherd parentage. Some other names that the Beauceron goes by are, French Shorthaired Shepherd, Beauce Sheep dog ,Beauce Shepherd, Berger de Beauce, Bas Rouge.
This French Shorthaired Shepherd has also been featured in some popular movies. A Beauceron was also seen in the film The Wild Child. Two Beauce Shepherds appear in the James Bond movie Moonraker.A pack of hunting Beaucerons appeared in the 1988 movie The Bear. And there are many others!
This amazing French breed dates as far as the late 1500s and originated from the areas surrounding Paris known as La Beauce. The Beauce Sheepdog is the largest of all of the sheep dogs in France, and were bred to be general purpose farms dogs, primarily with the responsibility of herding and protecting sheep and cattle and also protecting the family.
This breed was only well known to the French natives, and unheard outside of France. They were used as messenger dogs on the front lines for the French army during World War I and World War II. The Beauceron’s natural ability to easily follow orders, follow trails, and detect mines make them popular military and police dogs. Many owners also use them as protection dogs for their families.
To preserve the qualities of this native French Breed, the Beauceron Club of America formed in 1980, and in 2001 the American Kennel Club admitted the Beauceron into the Miscellaneous class.

Yes, the Beauceron can be very good with other pets !!! I had two and they were perfect with other aniamls e.g. cats, hens, goats and horses... This is misinformation!
Some may require some education at first like other dogs, but I never had problems with my dogs. N'oubliez pas qu'il s'agit d'un chien de ferme à l'origine !

Right there are so many wrong things in this video that I'm not going to talk about it all.
I don't know how you train Beauceron in America compare to us in France but Beauceron are very good with other pets. Good with children and perfect family dogs.
Beauceron are not dominant. Some Beauceron are and some are not... Guess what... it is like any other dog breed.
Now it is true that Beauceron need a lot of physical exercise but also intellectual stimulation as they are high training dogs.
Yes you can have a Beauceron in a flat, as long as you give them what they need everyday.
It is better to have a Beauceron in a flat and walk them a lot than having a big garden and relying on the garden for the walk.
Also, Beauceron can be very good with strangers and very socially able to have cintact with stranger.
It is all depends on how you train your dog since a puppy. That's why having a close relationship with the breeder is important.
Other than that, Beauceron are just not lazy dogs, but they love lying with you on the sofa for hours.
They also follow you everywhere in the house... but everywhere. They are like your shadow.

I agree with you about Beaucerons being good with other pets. These so-called dog experts are always spewing half truths about all types of breeds. I’ve seen many examples of many different breeds including so-called aggressive breeds function well with other pets. A pitbull can do well with other pets.

How refreshing to see that the vile, disgusting cutting off of Beauceron ears still continues outside Europe. The owners should be forced to cut off their own first. Perhaps one or two of the owners parts as well. I worked with Beaucerons in the French Army in the North Africa wars in 1959 onwards. They were amazing. Since then my current one is Ragnar, (Lord of the North). He has always been my best friend and always will be. I got him as a herding dog in France for Limosin cattle, sheep, goats and awkward bullocks. I retired him 7 years ago and he is 13 now. An amazing runner, walker, swimmer, pal to every breed of dog he meets, is also a long distance walker with me. Mostly on the Mountains around France and Spain. The longest being 750 Kilometres along the Pyrenees. He and I loved it. (twice). He has always been incredibly sociable with all dogs and humans of all ages.
The Beauceron Breed comes from an area called the Beauce South West of Paris. Some time between 1450 and 1520. The two breeders decided that they would be Herding dogs(good news) for Wild Boar (Bad News) but as far as I know that now longer exists. If I it did I could probably run a lot faster than Ragnar. We do see Wild Boar on our farm sometimes.
These are fabulous. I hope you get one.

cut off ears? Forbidden in Europe. I don't believe you're showing dogs who got destroyed ears. Besides all horror: It looks ridiculous

Es un perro muy interesante y hermoso, pero en vez de cortarle las orejas deberian cortarle los espolones que NO sirven para nada y se ven horribles
