Here's a good, new racing series called SRX (Superstar Racing eXperience). If you've heard of IROC (International Race Of Champions), it's like that.
-- There are clips on UA-cam from 2 minutes to a full race of 2 hours. I'd say for the sake of time, go with the shortest clips to watch.
    _________________________________________
The differences between IROC & SRX.....
--the cars are inspired, but not based on production cars.
-- the field is 50/50 on active vs retired drivers, but champions in their respective motorsport. IROC having 100% active driver.
-- the tracks are more local tracks, but like "famous" tracks. Like Stafford (Connecticut), Knoxville (Iowa), etc. Rather than being on NASCAR tracks.

Oddly enough, Larson's suspension and exile from the sport for his ... incident on iRacing may have actually been to his benefit. Not just because he ended up with the Empire, but because it changed his psyche in the car. I think during that time, he took a good look at himself, and figured out what was holding him back mentally, and is now racing with a mental toughness that unlocks more from all the best athletes. I'm certain that the most dominant athletes have this mental trait, and if Larson can stay physically healthy and not suffer any major bad luck, he's going to be the guy to beat this year.

NASCAR went from bouncing checks and gave it to the dirt tracks. I’ve sold a “hot” check to rival tracks. They would hang they up in the grandstands and in the payout house. But the worst race I had was over at 2am (25 laps and we were the main event. 10 cars out of 12 finished. All 10 went to tech. The ass-hole tech guy wanted all 10 cars to pull flywheels. Only way to pull that is remove the engine or the transmission. After tech and the disqualifications only 2 cars pulled their transmissions. (I didn’t pull mine) most everyone was on my side. It was 2am and then you tell me to pull a part off my engine that could take an hr to pull off then another hr to put on. Hell no! They fired the tech guy.

I think NASCAR is like any other sport in that it does actually boil down to how much money is being allocated to every aspect of the franchise. The more money you can spend the better quality gear, facilities, and personnel, the better results you will get in general. The rare occasion that the underdog wins is why it’s a large story and makes for good books, movies, television, and games. Most things, like business for example, also boils down to the amount of money allocated to said venture.

Hey bro most of us are not built to be con men because we are normal people with morals. Look at shows like The Wire or movies like Scarface. I know those are entertainment but they are based in people in reality. People like Pablo Escobar or El Chapo Guzman or Whitey Bulger in Boston who was the basis for the Jack Nicholson character in The Departed. Or the gang leaders behind all the shootings and killings in American cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, and Chicago. These people need to watch their back at all times and stay one step ahead of the cops and their enemies and they have to be willing to kill to stay alive and also protect their ability to protect the ways they make their money. But for them the money and the power is worth it. And besides its a thrill anyway for them and they they think it's fun to hurt and kill people and they like to play God because they can go out and end someone's life whenever they feel like it!
