I’m not familiar with either fighter , for me stots was a better striker sabatelo got more takedowns but did nothing with them , taking somebody down and just holding them should not score points , stots won on clean strikes , correct decision
Stots had a decent head kick land a look to believe hard forward kick was attempting knee and leg bar dropping elbows while dude was hugging him . Also had some knees to sabetello head .
The real question is how and WHERE tf did Doug Crosby get 50-45 Sabatello from, HOW?! Literally the only time in history a judge gave the loser of a fight 50-45
The first two rounds Sabatello took him down and landed alot of counter right hands and face kicks. Stots started rather slowly and did better the last 3 rounds. You act like it was a fucking blowout. Wtf?
This just proves the judges have their own perspective and follow no guidelines. No damage done by either fighter at all. For all Stots’s punches not one stunner, just pillow punching. Sabatello has no boxing skill set at all and couldn’t land a shot to save his life. So throw the punch crap out the window and what do you have? A couple of school boys rolling around on the playground. The Italian kid had control for the majority of each round but never really threatened a submission. At this point no one got rocked and no one was in danger of being submitted so obviously the one judge felt control was the factor on his score card at 50- 45. Evidently the other two believe little girl punches out weigh being controlled for over three minutes a round.
Being a blanket shouldn't win someone a fight. If 1 fighter is landing punches and the other is landing none who had better striking? Nate Diaz doesn't have knock out power so are you saying him landing punches shouldn't be a factor in the scoring unless the fighter has 1 shot knock out power?

The announcers set this up with the "he's not getting the submission" rhetoric. Stotts was as surprised as Danny was. He didn't even think he won. But oh effing well.
