      "Hungry" for knowledge? "Tired" of questions without answers? "Anxious" as to what those answers might be? Here's the key to understanding infinity. That which is LIMITED is IRRATIONAL by definition. Therefore, absolutely all numbers are irrational. And the very concept of numbers is actually irrational, because it is the concept OF limitation. On the other hand, infinity is complete and lacking nothing, which is the very definition of that which is RATIONAL. Our current experience is limited, and therefore irrational. And by definition, an irrational experience is INSANITY. The rational cannot be understood by the insane. And rational infinity has absolutely no relationship with numbers. Conclusion: infinity cannot be understood by finite minds. However, when the mind leaves insanity behind, infinity is experienced. Infinity can ONLY be experienced, and cannot be comprehended or explained by we who are experiencing limitation (insanity). When I was a kid, about 13 and younger I had dreams about the concept of infinity that mesmerized and horrified me. I’m not even sure what the content of the dreams were but I would wake up with the concept on my mind and just stuck with a feeling of something unknowable and unending hanging over me.

    I think infinity is a nature. A force that everything follows under, because everything is infinite. I don't believe you can simply, or complexly, explain it at all.
    There are limitations to vocal communication, yet no limitations to experiences. I haven't experienced infinity yet, and don't truly know if you can while still physically being. Yet I have a feeling that's indescribable to what it might be.

It gets better though the ability to know what it’s like to be the other person or understand why some people suck or why things happen and it’s because they have no idea either so it can mess with you at first. It gets better though and it changed my life for the better I’m way more understanding and loving to everyone I meet because I felt that oneness that night and it stays with you for the rest of your life.

    To me, the concept that we can somehow comprehend the concept of "infinity" is proof enough that we ourselves, as consciousnesses, are infinite beings capable of trascending our existence towards waking up with a true free will.
    Yes, our bodies are mortal, and rarely able to exceed 8 decades of age, but our minds, our writtings, our presence, is something that trascends time itself, for after all, we are all one. Our minds will converge after the absolute end to wake up with absolute free will.

    I love “The Pursuit of Wonder” and its continued excellence. As an end-of-life Doula, “Notes From The End Of Everything” struck a deep cord. While I’ve read it twice, I suspect I will be returning to it a few more times to come. I have a presentation coming up on end-of-life issues. If it’s OK with you, I certainly would like to highly recommend it. A most sincere and heartfelt thank you, on so many levels. Oh something wonderful is happening. I am so grateful to be on board in these times. Glad you’re here too. 🤗 Namasté, Mary

    Nicely done! Mad props for the slide rule at 7:37.
    Personally, I favor the platonist viewpoint, that numbers actually exist. I say this as someone with a lifelong interest in mathematics who went on to major and graduate in it. Of course, I respect opposing viewpoints, such as formalism and intuitionism; I'm just incautious.
    In this video, you only consider cardinal arithmetic, in which we're only concerned with the numerousness of a set. In ordinal arithmetic, in which we also consider the order of the elements of a set, we actually can add one to infinity and get something new. In John Conway's surreal numbers, we can even take its square root and have it make sense!
    Again, well done. I came here after a mention from Epic Math Time, and will be looking at some of your other videos, possibly even subscribing to your channel.

    • @tomrhodes1629
      @tomrhodes1629 4 роки тому

      One's existence can't be rationally questioned. ("I think therefore I am.") But one's sanity can be questioned. And here's the key to "understanding" infinity. That's realativly incorrect, within the realm of mathematics this is true, but applied it is incorrect. There's finite matter in a Glass of, finite energy in the universe, ect.

    • @lucifer.Morningstar369
      @lucifer.Morningstar369 3 роки тому

      @@moosiem8209 yeah because our universe is a result of infinity. It isn't infinity itself. Whatever creates or transforms energy into matter or matter into energy is the infinity

    • @moosiem8209
      @moosiem8209 3 роки тому

      @@lucifer.Morningstar369 ehm. I don't see what you mean.
      Take fire for example, fire isn't infinite but the fire is still taking matter (Wood) and transforming it into energy (heat, light, ect ) it'd even transforming it into other matter (smoke, ash, sud)

    • @lucifer.Morningstar369
      @lucifer.Morningstar369 3 роки тому

      @@moosiem8209 well you can't compare wood and fire to the totality of existence. Our universe is actually pretty small compared to all that there is. Higher dimensions for example wouldn't have stars or galaxies. The nature of energy may be alot different in other dimensions. But that's not the point. Infinity creates reality was my point. Meaning the universe is nothing compared to it. I use infinity as in size and age. Even though infinity isn't an age. It's just something with no beginning or end. And whatever creates reality is exactly just that. It never had a start and will never have a finish. Matter is just the result of this source/creator

    • @moosiem8209
      @moosiem8209 3 роки тому

      @@lucifer.Morningstar369 @Dmt i was just adressing your point, and pointing out that it's unsubstansiated. "whatever creates or transforms energy into matter, or matter into energy" means. If you don't read between the lines which you shouldn't have to. That what ever mechanism that transforms to/from energy is "the infinity" which is incorrect. In Short, i was being a smartass for scientific accuracy and comedic effect.
      Also, we have a pretty convinced idea of how matter exsists, and it's not diffent dimensions. Even thought that's closer to my fav theory.
      I'd also like some explaination to the mechanics of these dimensions? Or even just Which one we are talking About? 4th? 5th? 427.561th?
      It's a fundamental law that energy can't be created or destroyed, and what you're proposing is the vary contradiction, please elaborate.
      On the topic of infinity, infinity is a subspace within infinity. Meaning, infinity Counts itself. It's very much possible to have a finite infinity, the example of the cake with infinite surface but finite mass comes to mind. Aleph is a finite infinity bound to it's degree aleph null being the smallest and aleph aleph ... Being the largest.
