    What’s hilarious, is when they were talking after jins and Vs fight- Jungkook was trying to just eat his food when they brought him in like “you too, gotta be respectful” literally how parents are when your sibling is in trouble 💀
    We need a reaction to all the RoB series
    BOI LISTEN TO STILL WITH YOU BY JUNGKOOK HIS RELEASE TO ARMYS WHILE IN QUARANTINE, hands down a favorite

    Ok, new story time. Here is why Jimin is so hard on himself. Korean culture demands perfection. Unrealistic standards of beauty. Top of your class and you must go to a good school. You have to be good at everything you do and have to succeed no matter what. Mistakes are unforgivable. But you can’t show stress or anxiety or let anyone know if you’re under pressure. Mental health is taboo. I was depressed when I was 15. I had anxiety and my school scores meant more than my sanity. I had monolids and was told if I got them “fixed” I would be happier. I literally had surgery at 15 to cure my “sadness” and it was considered normal. Then I had pretty eyelids and was more depressed than ever because it didn’t work and it didn’t make me me happy. So I decided to come to America and study psychology. I wanted to know what was wrong but I couldn’t ask for help. It was a weakness. My parents love me unconditionally but they’re a product of Korean society and didn’t know better. I now have a degree and a career helping others and I look at Jimin and want to cry. I feel he’s gotten better throughout the years, but his weight losses and how hard he is on himself is Korean pressure and lack of support. He gets it through his members and their message or I’m afraid of where he’d be today.

    In Korea, the eldest pays for meals. It’s like an honor thing, that the eldest can support his dongsaengs. When JK graduated it was a thing of pride that he was man enough to pay for the meal. Not a lot of high school grads can afford $800 noodles but he worked hard for it, so he proudly paid the bill as a man.
    It’s a culture thing.

    Middle school graduation my mom took me to Manhattan to this cake shop to get my favorite cake strawberry shortcake .
    High school graduation my grandparents and the rest of my parents wanted to take pictures then we went to either Golden Coral or a Chinese buffet , and I got Like $100+ dollars and nice gifts, my brother even flew out from NY down here to SC for my graduation which we did the walk on the football field and it rained too.
    I had to change my outfit and shoes since we had to wear all white under our white cap and gowns.
    JK and BTS are amazing people, they support each other and are just like a real family.

    I also recognized how lucky they were and that the way they synergize is what makes them special (incidentally, yoongi also mentioned that their "chem" was notable I think it was actually a question about bangtan's popularity). I have thought about how they formed - Namjoon had said the band wouldn't make it/work without JHope, and JK saw Namjoon and thought he was cool. So there seems to be evidence that they played a part in selecting who was in BTS, which would explain that it wasn't just luck. I do think they have one imbalance personality trait wise but they all seem to value the teamwork, which makes the whole thing work better imo. I also like and I wouldn't say envy, but am heartened by watching them. You don't get that with other groups in music or in life.

    While our own life stories may not be writ large in today’s excepted platforms; like BTS is in social media. Can we cherish and value those within our own orbits in the same manner as BTS? Of course we can!

    The way i look at it, BTS looks at the army as their parents so they want to show their best. This is the reason why i see that everyone is hard on themselves. Since they are team they want to give a fair share on their performance and contributions.

    In the Philippines, the birthday person pays if they go out for a birthday dinner. That's my culture, but it's totally foreign to me since I grew up here in the US. It's whack!

    • @maddencovers5890
      @maddencovers5890 2 роки тому +1

      It’s an honor thing. I’m Korean, and being able to pay is an honor. Kind of like we slurp noodles to show we enjoy the meal but in America it is rude. Tipping in restaurants is an insult in Asia but in America it is offensive if people don’t.

    • @racheljerusha
      @racheljerusha 2 роки тому +1

      @@maddencovers5890 In the US we pay for the person having a birthday to honor them. Tipping culture in the US can be good or bad depending on who they work for. I did have a friend that was a server at a restaurant that would make over $6000 USD a month which is ₩7,127,340.08 SKWon. That's more than I made as an analyst. But if you work for a small restaurant, then it can be difficult.

    • @maddencovers5890
      @maddencovers5890 2 роки тому +1

      @@racheljerusha I went to international school in Korea and came to the US for university. They taught us English and history and math to prepare us for travel and education, but we didn’t learn much about culture and manner differences and practical living. Kind of like American schools teaching trigonometry but not how to do your own taxes or iron clothes. Things are so opposite and both sides have reasons for it. It’s been interesting learning a whole new lifestyle. In some Asian countries if you tip someone it’s like saying, “you don’t have enough” or “please do better next time.” But in the US it means “you did well, here’s some more.” The interpretation of such small customs is confusing. My poor mom came to visit and go to a BTS concert with me lol. She was horrified when I put money on a table at a restaurant. She was like, “I raised you better than that.” And I was like, “and now we’re on the other end of the world where everything is backwards so just leave the money and say thank you.”
      I wish I made $6000 a month. I have a friend who is a strip club bartender that makes twice what I make and she doesn’t even take her clothes off. I’m in the wrong damn industry 😂

      @@maddencovers5890 But they have to stand all day. There are sacrifices that come with a service job. I was a cocktail waitress at a club 3 nights a week for extra income as a single mom. I averaged $300 a night, but my feet killed me. I had the energy then, but not anymore. It was great money, though.
