Good morning Panagiotaskoylida yes I agree the flowers look like little butterflies! They sell the plant in Spring and now in fall. Thank you for your lively comment. ❤️🥰👍Liz
Apparently, the Gaura is not a very common or popular plant. It doesn’t appear that too many people have even heard of it. But I’m glad you know now it’s such a whimsical and fluttery plant that dances in the wind. Appreciate you taking the time to visit me.❤️🥰👍Liz
Hi Liz ❤ I love Gaura too! I have the white ones - sometimes here in CT they don't survive the winter but one I planted last year returned and I was so happy. I bought three more! I'm hoping they all return next year too! I love the wispy appearance and the way the Gaura seem to dance 💃 in the wind ❤🎉 from Andrea 😊
Good morning AndreaBenson do you think your Guara would survive the winter if you cut it all the way back and then maybe put some mulch on top of the area? They say that Guara can withstand temperatures below 20°. So maybe if you try cutting it all the way back down to the ground, that might keep it alive. Crazy thing is my Guara is usually very light pink. This is the first year They came out with hot pink flowers. I don’t understand it. Maybe it was a fertilizer I used? I have no idea. Crazy crazy for sure. But you are right it’s so whimsical and dances in the wind. I hope you have an amazing day Andrea and thank you for visiting me. ❤️🥰👍Liz
Good Morning Miss Liz your guara is so lush with that light fluttery whimsical appearance. Compliments well with the autumn sedum joy. I grow it here as well in zone 8b. It's a hardy tough desert plant.
Good morning Kelly and thank you for taking the time to visit me. I love the gaura this year. The flowers are so much darker in pink last year they seem to be more on the white light pink side. Crazy how that can change from year to year. I love my sedum, but I hate the way it flops. Next year, I think I might grow it around as support cage. But sedum is known to flop so not too happy about that. Does yours flop as well? I’m told that if we pinch them when they’re halfway growing, it will make them busier and less leggy. Have you ever learned that? I would love to know what you think. 👍🥰❤️Liz
@@GardenHappy Yes my Sedum Joy flops because as you know they get top heavy with cymes. Yes you are right Liz, you can cut them back to give them a bushier look. I use the stems, strip the lower leaves remove the cymes and propagate the stems in sand.
Thanks, Kelly. I have discovered that they are so easy to propagate. Thanks for the tip and telling me what you do. I am still learning in the garden, I guess it’s a never-ending journey right? Have an amazing weekend and thanks for stopping by. 🌸🌸🌸Liz
Thank you so much shyamagardennvlog the Guara really changed the year with darker pink flowers. Last year they were much lighter on the white side. Crazy how that can happen from your to year. Appreciate you taking the time to visit me. ❤️🥰👍Liz
