It’s really interesting to see how this wonderful little bike is put together, I have taken apart bikes that have cost considerably more that aren’t as well built or as easy to work on. If you still intend to build a “old / vintage “ style you really need a Fishtail exhaust and some sweep back bars. Cracking series Glyn 👍 all the best buddy 👍
Thanks very much Mike, I would like some bars that pull back a little and go a bit wider. I've bookmarked a couple but need to carefully measure so they don't hit the tank 👍
Really enjoyed this one. No air filter upgrades,my ears must be gash, when I heard you start her up, in the 1st video. Great attention to detail as allways Glyn.😊 But, as said,mi had to have a giggle at the end when sitting on the dismantled bike, was waiting for someone to put 20p in the slot, for it, to move backwards and forwards 😂. Already looking forward to the next one. Best regards. Mark.😊
Damn! that last shot of you sitting on the bike made me fall over laughing. Made me think of all those scifi programs that feature "hover bikes". I also loved the comment "it's probably not a good idea" 🤣
On the air filter, the original cover, it has got a "schnorkel" set at 90 degrees to the air flow, and is supposed to restrict the said airflow, the new DNA filter just has a big round hole for the better airflow, what I like to know if possible? would removing that "schnorkel" by drilling/dremel/ sort of filling so you would create a larger hole for the airflow, work, (instead of buying an expensive part-the DNA bit), I ask this, because you look very inventive at what you do. Admiration
I think that would absolutely be possible, it's just some rubbery plastic, I eventually bought a cover plate that does just that - so not the whole DNA kit, just a basic plastic cover that had a big hole in it! They sell them for about 15 quid or so
If it's anything like the Super Meteor, your metal cover is just to house the toolkit. Looks like similar latches on the plastic inner case. Just a guess though?
Love the video as allways, theres no haynes manuals for these bikes as i know too, but i have learnt so much watching your videos. One question glyn form your experience do you think the meteor and classic have exactly the same frame because i have a meteor and some bits of my frame have bungs in places (i can see where the classic footpegs would be for instance) but meteors are forward set.
Thanks Brendon. I'm sure the frame is the same and they each have holes for each others fixings and parts. It's most obvious on the Meteor where it has the plastic plugs that hide the Classics rear mudguard fittings and it also has the holes by the pillion pegs that a Classic uses. Not to mention everything else Classic I put on my Meteor!
@@brendonhughes4580 I can tell you there are tons of seemly unused holes both threaded and unthreaded on the Super Meteor. They are just left open to the elements, but there has to be a reason, for example your suggestion of a shared frame.
The Hunter is similar but slightly different at the back where the frame loops around the side pods and the spring hangers are longer, very similar though 👍@@brendonhughes4580
Quick question, since you've worked on the Meteor as well. Could those side panels just bolt on the meteor frame as well? Like a straight swap? Many thanks.
They're the same frame for sure so you could go as far as you want in mixing and matching them. The airbox is def the same and I'm sure you could put the Classic side panel arrangement on the Meteor, you'd need the backing plastics too, not just the metal parts and maybe some minor brackets for holding relays etc but you could use cable ties or anything for that if you needed
The bike is surprisingly poorly production engineered and must take more man hours to assemble than a BMW GS! I guess that labour is relatively cheap in India?
That's what I thought, it's kind of halfway between an old style bullet and a modern Japanese bike which all fits together intricately. The parts are all strong but the fit of all the parts individually is a bit 'unusual' in places but it all works 👍

Lets convince glyn on the fish tail, perhaps straight stainless pipe with no silencer, it will be ok its only a 350 after all

You looked funny on the reborn bike with every thing off. I’m sure you have a plan. Lemay.
Really enjoyed this one.

I thought you might like seeing all the odds and ends going on in there, there's more bits than the Meteor for sure. Maybe do the next one tomorrow 😊
A super Meteor video Glyn, well done and keep up the good work.
Thanks Simon, at this point it's like a Schrodingers Enfield, both a Meteor and a Classic at the same time 👍
Love your videos
Thanks very much for watching 👍

It feels really high for some reason?? The platform isn't very high so not sure why 😛

Love your videos. Like all. Greetings from Spain!
Gracias! Hope you had a great ride this weekend, Glyn

I did think that but then realised you'd need tools to access it and not just a key which would be a bit annoying!
@@GlynOC erm, yeah you got me 😞
Hi glyn by any chance is the throttle body connected to the battery and engine.
Hello, it's connected between the rubber manifold on the engine and the airbox, and has a multipin connector on the top to connect it to the bike
@@GlynOC thanks 🤝

Nice one Glyn it makes sense now I bet the hunter frame is the same or at least with bits chopped off

Handy for me Glyn watching this video as I'm just about to remove the battery to be put on a trickle charge over the winter, thanks a lot.

@@GlynOC thank you sir, much appreciated!
They don't make it easy to get to the battery do they? Could you get to the terminals from the top to attach an optimate lead for example?
No they don't! If you wanted to use a trickle charger I think adding a little plug in lead that would be easy to access would be a must 👍
