More craziness from the TV comic Zzzap. This edition is from the second series first broadcast on CITV in 1994, not sure which episode in the series it is.
Just carefree sunny days when you were a kid, coming home from school with no homework. A snickers, then marathon bar, full size not the miniature portion you get nowadays and a red coke
Especially when after once a week episodes, it did finally land on one of those spaces such as the question mark or the eye, it was something to really look forward to each week. Such a good show
@@Man-From-Another-PlaceIt landed on all those spots except for the leg, but they were replaced by other puzzle segments. The clown got replaced by Dot to Dot, the Zig Zag got replaced by some eyes in a bush
@@Man-From-Another-Place It never landed on the Zig zag, but when they replaced it, it did end up landing and being a puzzle for guessing the silhouette
Interesting fact, the guy who made this had a deaf daughter. Thats why none of the characters speak and its all gestures or words in speech bubbles. He wanted to make a kids show for his little girl.
I always wondered as a kid why do they never talk! Use to watch this with my sister! Guna have to bring up this little gem of knowledge from the past! Cheers!
You are indeed spot on! Don't forget Do It, No.73, Motormouth, It's A Mystery, and Finders Keepers! He even produced the first few series of ZZZap! too! This video link will prove that at 3:07! ua-cam.com/video/rtjPLshDzGE/v-deo.html
Any TV heads want to get together and remake this for modern screens? Kids deserve the quality programming we had growing up. This stuff is stimulating, and bearable to watch as an adult. Looks like a 4-9 years old format as it is reliant on reading, in some instances quite quickly. Also looks as if the creators made this on a shoestring budget, this is a good way forward as it allows for volume, something network heads like. The original show put out 131 full episodes from 8/1/1993 - 21/9/2001. A season aired over a three month period and the show had a total of 10 seasons. With the same grassroots approach, we could make a charming little reboot that will be admired by kids and parents alike.
Brilliant! I’ve just moved to the road behind the TV studios where this was filmed and for ages I couldn’t remember she name of this programme. A night of googling lead me to this.
Yeah, as well as young kids I saw this on a fb memories post Haven't thought about this show for probably nearly 20 years Recognise the daisy girl and the handyman so clearly

Omg , thanks!!! My childhood favorite show along with Blue Peter and Art Attack. Watching all episodes again haha 😂 still gives me a really good nostalgic , happy warm feeling to this day 😁. Love all characters but daisy dares you my top fave. I don't suffer deafness but this show will always be the best
I found this absolutely disturbing as a kid. I still agree with my judgment. There's something really sinister about it in an uncanny valley way. Especially, when the camera would hover over the characters suspended silent and manic/dead- looking in the comic
Vaguely remembered this show, but couldn't remember the name. Kind of glad to have come across it. Didn't remember much of Cuthbert to be honest with you, but I definitely remember Smart Arty and Daisy I couldn't forget, she was nuts..... And one of my first crushes.
The leg puzzle page was revealed in the final series where it changed to a magnifying glass. But that was intended to be a puzzle page along with the clown that’s was supposed to be a joke sketch. But due to the time limits they never got to use them. The original intention I believe was to have almost every square visited in each episode.
Daisy Dares was my favourite - she was always last and I still remember that feeling of excitement when Smarty Arty would point at her panel - 11:47 - because you knew it was her turn.
The childhood memories Zapp brings back. This will always be part of my childhood along with mr oakie doke, the chuckle brother's, bodger and badger , button moon , brum e.t.c. Do you think it was called Zzzzap! because a remote control is sometimes known as the zapper? And it's an electronic comic! Think this was a bit like Vision On, aimed at a particular audience, but anyone could enjoy it! It would explain all the visuals in the sketches! That's Neil 'Art Attack' and 'Finders Keepers' Buchanan in the smock! And Boccherini's Minuet is the music. Reminds me of the character Kenny Everett used to play, the mime artist who drew things that became real!
I'm afraid I'm another one of those of whom this scared the shit out of, well back then it was a mixture of enjoyment and fear, but after watching it now, just pure fear! 😢, so weird haha
