I just ordered the 8s 90-degree version. Am I right to assume the only difference between the S and the SE is the touch screen and the inclusion of the lav mic?
After watching almost a hundred videos, I decided on purchasing the 8S. I own a Hasselblad medium format (bought at a Silicon Valley Camera Store), Nikon full frame and Olympus MFT (bought from Adorama). This is my first purchase of an action camera. Should be interesting capturing video with such a tiny sensor. Wish me luck. I also ordered the mic and various accessories from AliExpress and BangGood. The camera was not available last week from Amazon. Bad news!

Great review as usual. Looks like a great value for the money. The saturation and colors are very punchy. I have the 6s and it was a great camera back when I bought it and i still use it but even in great lighting it still looked grainy ate times. It looks like the generation Firefly has really improved in that department.

Quick question about the controls.. I'm assuming that when sitting idle or recording for longer periods, the screen can be set to turn off? My question is, once the screen turns off, can recording still be stopped/started with one push of the Record button? Or do you have to push the button once to turn the screen on and then again to start/stop recording?
First time I see they say the housing is for no more than 20 meters, I guess you can use the housing of another action camera and will work too. The quality is decent and for the price very great I think. Nice review mate, liked as always.

Yeah I have had a couple of them from Amazon and the build quality was the primary difference... So I have settled in on the Movo.. at 109 recently.. Good build quality and not 200+ dollars.

Not sure without having the camera on hand... If you use the waterproof case...the sound won't be too good... Maybe lower the recording volume from the settings

What do you like more Alex, the Sjcam sj7 star or The firefly 8 SE. I do like warm colors and Wanne use it for my drum cover videos. The light in my room isn't that good. Or do you know a good alternative for me like a GoPro session type of camera. Because I always film on a tripod and always in full HD 1080. I hope you have a good advise for me 😎👍🤜
Nice review! Specs are quite similar to the Yi 4k exept that I see it goes up to 2.5k 60fps while the Yi goes to 2.7k. Also, doesn't it offer IS up to at least 2.5k? The external mic option is brilliant! Yi was supposed to offer it for the 4k and then they decided not to make it an option and make you buy the 4k+.

I recommend the 8SE over that Campark X20. Most gimbals should work with it, but I haven't personally got to try that particular gimbal

if you unplug the external microphone the camera switches to the internal microphone. Thanks for watching!

They all do the same in terms of image stabilization. The G6 has a more premium build and has a couple of extra modes over other cheaper ones

if you don't care for image stabilization for 4k30fps get the firefly. If you want a better screen, and better image stabilization get the SJ8 Pro
