I've been dealing with severe back pain for 25 years and was very young when the injury occurred. It ruined my life. I can't work and I never married or had kids. I live alone, no one even knows I exist. Every day is a fight just to make it to the next. But I'm still here.
Oh my goodness! I knew about all of Blackie's injuries, but this is first time I had heard about them in detail, I didn't realize he had TWO operations! It will be an honor to see him when he finally gets back on the road again! Looking forward to part 2!💜🤘
I had sciatica as a result of a herniated disc and it is no fun. Not sure if that’s exactly the same thing Blackie had in his explanation here during this interview or not but he’s 100% correct-chronic back and nerve problems are absolutely awful. I never got to the dark places he said others can and have gone too but having experienced back trouble, I’m not surprised to hear that. Hopefully folks can get professional treatment for their back and joint issues.
Great to hear this the first time I read through it... Thank you so much Metal Voice for interviewing Blackie... Hope everything for Blackie will be getting better very soon his health is if the utmost importance before anything!!!...💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞
Hopefully Blackie will heal and be back soon! I received the box yesterday. One thing to note is that the inner sleeves are too small for these 180 g records. It's actually a real struggle to get the records out, I had to "rotate" the records out an inch at a time. I was very worried about seamsplits since the records was squeaking against the gloss paper. Unfortunately, this also brought debris onto the records and when pulled out, it leaved some scuffs and actual visible scratches on a couple of records. Unacceptable. Some records, like "Circus" wasn't as tight, but still needed to be forced out. It's not good when you're thinking about cutting the inner sleeve to get the record out...Hopefully they sounds good!
Thanks for interviewing Blackie for us to hear! Is your interview already completed or is there a possibility you could ask Blackie a question I asked in the chat? It's the very last post in the live chat and it regards Blackie's John Lennon tribute Silver Rain which was never released.
Very interesting interview, thank you, i would have not understood what he is talking about in my 20s but i sure do now in my 50s. Kinda sad that all of these artists need to continue because so many people rely on them but there is no income anymore other than exhausting and literally back-braking live shows. With the way Hollywood is atm, i don't see W.A.S.P. licensing any of their music anytime soon 😂
I can relate to the pain the chronic pain, there were days I didn't want to live me anymore. Im numb on my right side and half my foot from the nerve damage.. they said I was a rare case. my surgeon..
W.A.S.P. best band ever!!! Blackie you rule!

In lieu of new music, we are being overwhelmed by vinyl boxsets.
